Chapter 11

Disclaimer: I don't own The Flash or any of its characters. I only own my OC's. :)

I wince as Kyra pulls the bandage tight around the burn on my arm.
"I'm so sorry, I should have warned you about the branding," She says as she knots off the bandage.
"It's ok," I reassure her. The moment I got back from my mission; I went to my barracks to find Kyra waiting for me. She told me she and Dylan also got branded before their first missions. I pull my sleeve down over the bandage as Kyra starts to feel around my injured shoulder.
"Ow, that hurt," I complain as she pushes down hard on it.
"I have to check if it is broken or not," she tells me as she presses down on another shot. She declares it only bruised and puts some ointment on it before bandaging it. She sits down on the bed next to me when she is finished.
"Did you kill him?" Kyra asks me softly. I shake my head.
"I broke his arm and he probably hurt his back as well," I tell her softly. I just hope that Black Hole doesn't hear of this. We sit in silence for a few minutes.
"They put trackers into the brands, didn't they?" I ask Kyra. She nods.
"Then how are we going to escape?" I whisper to her. She looks around to make sure nobody is listening before answering me.
"In Dylan's dorm is a guy called Jax. He is a metahuman with the ability to disrupt electrical signals," She whispers to me. I nod in understanding.
"So, he can stop the tracker's signal," I verify. She nods.
"Will he be coming with us?" I ask her. It is good to know who is in on the escape plan.
"Yes, that's the plan," she tells me.
"So, that's you, Dylan, Amy and Jax?" I ask her.
"And you," she tells me.
"Only if we can find out where they keep my medicine," I verify, "If you can't, you'll have to leave without me."
She shakes her head.
"We're not leaving without you," she insists. I stay silent. We sit in silence before the dinner bell starts to ring. We stand up and leave my barracks, heading towards the dining hall. When we get there and have gotten our trays of food, we walk over to a table where Dylan, Amy and a boy with black hair and blue eyes, are sitting. I sit down opposite Dylan and the boy while Kyra sits down next to me to my right with Amy to my left.
"How did your first mission go?" Dylan asks me quietly so that the kids at other tables can't hear us. I don't answer him.
"That bad huh?" he asks. Kyra quickly explains to them what happened while I eat my food with my head down.
"Oh, um...well this is Jax," Dylan says after Kyra finishes telling them what happened. He holds out his hand and I shake it.
"So, you can disrupt electrical signals?" I ask him. He tilts his head to the side.
"How did you...?" he starts.
"Kyra told me," I answer him. He nods in understanding. We quickly finish eating our food just in time as the bell rings, signalling 10 minutes till lights out. We hurry back to our barracks, Dylan and Jax upstairs and Amy, Kyra and I downstairs. I stop in front of my barracks and say good night to Kyra and Amy as they go to their barracks just down the hall from mine. I brush my teeth before climbing into bed.

I wake up just before the breakfast bell goes off, giving me the bathroom to myself. I quickly brush my teeth and tie my hair into a high ponytail before getting dressed into my training clothes. Once I'm done, I quietly leave my barracks and head over to the dining hall. I sit down at our usual table with a plate of eggs, pancakes and some toast. Ever after I brought up how I wasn't getting enough food with Eva, she changed the entire menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I start shoveling forkfuls of egg into my mouth when Jax, Dylan and Kyra sit down at the table with plates of food.
"Where's Amy?" I ask in between mouthfuls of food.
"She went on a mission for Mrs.McCulloch," Kyra tells me.
"So Jax, how old are you? You aren't in our training class," I ask him. He swallows down a mouthful of food before answering.
"I just turned 21 last week," he tells me.
"Happy birthday for last week then Jax," I tell him with a smile.
"Thanks," he replies, "How old are you? You don't look 18"
"I'm 17, I arrived here last year," I tell him. His face goes solemn.
"I heard Lisa and Leonard brought you here," Jax says. I nod.
"They are actually my cousins," I reveal to him. His eyes widen in surprise.
"Really, you.." he starts but is cut off when the training bell rings.
"We should probably get going,"I say, giving Jax an apologetic smile. We all stand up and take our empty plates to the bins before heading over to the training hall.

We enter the training hall just before the last bell rings, luckily. Whenever someone is late, Tony, our instructor, makes them do 50 push ups in front of all the other kids. Everybody has arrived by the time the last bell rings and Tony blows his whistle, ordering everyone to line up.
"Ok class, today we are going to do something different," He starts, "You have all gone on your first missions by now and are ready to become full-fledged agents. The last task you must complete to become a full-fledged agent is a group exercise. You will split off into groups of 4, each group with their own colour. Each group will receive special vests and a flag. Your group will then hide the flag somewhere on campus and have to search for the other team's flag. You are allowed to use your powers. If you manage to knock down someone from the other team, they are immediately disqualified. The goal of this training exercise is to retrieve the other teams flag and bring it back to the training hall. Any questions?"
A boy at the back holds up his hand.
"Are there any off limits areas for hiding your flag?" He asks. Tony nods.
"any off limits area will have a red sticker on the door. Other than that, anywhere on campus is allowed," Tony answers.
"Any more questions?" he asks again. When nobody replies he nods his head.
"Good, choose your team members and colour before coming to me to collect your vest and flag. Then, we will begin."

......//:\\......

On our team is Dylan, Kyra, a boy called Aaron and I. Amy is only due to get back tomorrow and another girl who is also in our class is on a mission as well, which means there are two teams of 4.

We walk over to Tony and select our blue flag and vests which all have blue on them. Max and his team have a red flag and red vests. Once everyone has selected their flags and vests, Tony blows his whistle and asks us to all line up.
"You have exactly 15 minutes to find a place to hide your flag, when I blow my whistle, you are allowed to go look for the other team's flag," He instructs. Ice he is finished speaking, we all run off to hide our team's flag.
"Where are we going to hide it?" Kyra asks angshously. We all think for a moment before I come up with a brilliant hiding spot.
"Why don't we hide it in the speed lab?" I ask everyone. They all look at me in confusion.
"What's the speed lab?" Dylan asks me.
"it's the place where I practice my speed," I quickly explain to them as I lead them towards it, hoping there's not a red sticker on the door.
When it comes into sight, I let out a sigh of relief to see the plain white door, not a red sicker in sight. I quickly lead them all inside, shutting the door behind me.
"Wow, this place is awesome," Aaron exclaims, letting out a soft whistle. As the others take a look around, I use my speed to run up the ramp into the speed track and place the flag in the center. I run back to the others to see Aaron looking at me in surprise.
"You have speed?" he exclaims.
"Sort of," I answer, "I have the ability to touch people then copy their powers."
He gasps.
"Can you copy my powers?" he asks. I shrug.
"Sure, what are your powers?" I ask him. He holds out his hand and one of the computers on the table starts to lift up.
"Telekinesis?" I ask him. He nods. I quickly hold onto his hand for a second before letting go. I hold out my hand towards a chair in the corner, imagining it lifting up. It starts to shake slightly before it slowly starts to lift off the ground.
"That's so cool!" I exclaim, turning to face the others.
"So, how do your powers work? Do you still have speed now? Or do you have to go touch a speedster again?" Aaron bombards me with questions.
"umm... I still have speed. When I copy someone's powers it is stored in a database almost. But, I can never use the powers as well as the original person. Like with my speed, I recently hit Mach 8 but that means the flash hit possibly Mach 8 and a half. ," I explain. He nods in understanding.
"Oh, and please don't tell anyone else. Everyone thinks I just have speed."
"Don't worry, my lips are sealed," He tells me, miming himself zipping shut his mouth. We all laugh. I hear something suddenly go off in the background.
"guys, Tony just blew the whistle," I tell them. They all nod.

"The game is afoot," I say in a deep serious voice.
"Hey, that's not fair! I would make a better Sherlock," Dylan argues.
"I call dibs on Watson!" Aaron calls out, pumping his fist into the air.
"Guys, argue a little louder, I don't think the other team heard you," Kyra says in a hushed voice. We are all instantly silent.
We all quickly form a game plan. Kyra and Aaron stay behind to guard the flag while Dylan and I go out to look for the other team's flag.
I speed us out of the lab and into the hallway, a reasonable distance from the lab so that if anyone is watching us, they won't be able to trace us back to the lab.
"Do you have any idea where they might be hiding their flag?" Dylan asks me. All I have to do is think like Max and his posse would.
"Let me quickly speed around campus," I tell him before speeding off. I finally find them after searching every room and speed back to Dylan, out of breath.
"They're in the boys dormitories," I manage to gasp out in between breaths. He nods and I grab his arm before speeding in front of the boys dormitories door. Dylan counts down from three on his fingers. When he reaches one, he uses his leg to kick open the door, startling Max and another boy who are standing inside. I quickly look around the room and spot their red flag laying on one of the beds.

Max and the other boy finally process that we are in the room and charge for us, the boy going for Dylan leaving me to fight Max. He charges at me like a bull and I quickly side step him. His momentum carries him past me and I use that to my advantage to kick him in the back, sending him falling face first to the ground. I hear a small cry of pain and turn to see Dylan lying on the ground, with me distracted, I don't notice Max has stood up as he kicks the back of my knees, causing me to fall to the ground. I quickly use Aaron's telekinesis ability to send Max flying into the wall before he can land another punch on me. With Max out cold I quickly help Dylan to defeat the other boy. Once we are done, I check both boy's pulses, sighing in relief at the steady thumping beneath my fingers. Max groans as he starts to wake up and I grab Dylan and the flag before running out of the room and into the training hall. I set their flag down on the table next to Tony.
"Well done, that's a new record," Tony exclaims and blows his whistle. Once our whole team has gathered, we all share a group high-five, laughing and joking.
