Prisoners

Lexa walked around taking in all that she was seeing. The army that she had sent to protect Skaikru now nothing but bodies on a battlefield. She searched them frantically hoping that she didn't see her sister laying amongst them. When they had arrived on the scene the sight had been horrifying.

"All bullet wounds." Clarke stated after they had been going over the bodies.

A warrior from up the ridge called their attention. On top of the hill stood a tent that she recognized. Without wasting a second she hurried to the top in hopes it wasn't as bad as she was thinking.

"Indra." She let out a breath of relief. She was glad one of her many mentors was alive and that it hadn't been Nia laying in that position.

"I need bandages." Clarke yelled to anyone who would hear her.

The Trikru leader moved away the best she could from the blonde beside her. "Stay away! You're one of them." She demanded.

"Indra. Let her help." Lexa said getting the warrior to stop resisting. She needed to get Indra's mind off the wound and she needed to know what had happened. "Indra, what happened?"

"They attacked while we slept. Our watch was to the north, looking for Azgeda. They killed our archers first. Our infantry couldn't get close. Then they executed the wounded." Indra informed about the incident.

It was silent as they processed the information that they were just told. Both girls couldn't believe that this had happened.

"Nia?" Lexa questioned wanting to know about her whereabouts.

"She was here visiting with the girls but they left that same night." Indra told calming Lexa's nerves.

Nia and the girls were safe. But as soon as the information about their safety left it returned. They were safe from the attack but they were not safe from Skaikru. They were in fact inside their walls.

"The summit was two days ago. How could Kane do this?" Clarke asked confused at how the whole situation had gotten out of hand.

"It wasn't Kane. It was Pike." Indra stated her anger visible.

"How did you escape?" Lexa wondered hoping to get some idea on how to get her sister out of there.

"Bellamy." Indra commented causing dread to go through them both.

Lexa knew all about Nia and Bellamy's relationship, so to hear that he had been part of this attack made her uneasy. If he was to so easily switch from helping them to killing them, then what would stop him from doing the same to those in Arkadia?

"Bellamy was with them?" Clarke asked hoping Indra would deny the thought.

"He wanted to spare the wounded but they wouldn't listen. He convinced Pike to let me live, so I could deliver a message."Indra confirmed.

"What message?" Clarke asked again.

"Skaikru rejects the coalition. This is their land now. We can leave, or we can die." Indra relayed.

The message was clear and Lexa knew what she had to do. She looked to the guards closest to her and gave him his orders.

"Send riders. I call upon the armies of the Twelve Clans. In a day's time, we lay waste to Arkadia and all of Skaikru within its walls." She spoke with determination in her voice as she worded her demands carefully. Nia, the girls, Alec and Lincoln were still in there and she needed to make sure that they were not in the crossfire.

The guards obeyed as they turned and went to their horses. Their commander was declaring war.

"Wait. Give me time to fix this." Clarke tried to protest as she went in the direction of Arkadia. But she didn't get far.

"Stop her!" Lexa ordered the two guards that had stayed. Without hesitation they brought their weapons down and halted the blonde in her tracks.

"What are you doing?" Clarke questioned the commander's sudden orders.

"I can't let you leave, Clarke." Lexa stated simply.

"So I'm a prisoner now? Just like that?" Clarke asked in disbelief.

"Yes. I have no doubt that your people haven't tried to take Nia and the rest prisoner as well." Lexa explained getting her point across.

"Lexa, let me go to Arkadia." Clarke demanded.

"No." Lexa responded quickly.

"At least let me talk to Kane. We can bring him here." Clarke was tried to find any means of stopping this war from happening. "Indra, at the summit, Kane told me Nia gave you a radio. A way to signal him. Do it. Please."

Lexa sighed but nodded for Indra to do it. If this radio could somehow get her to get her people out of Arkadia then she should try. For Nia and the girls.

The group stood staring out the fence's wires in the direction the army had been. No one said a word as they remembered those that had been there. But their silence was interrupted when they saw a person beginning to approach them.

Kane walked over to Nia but not before noticing the tense feature of Alec. When he glanced between them all he noticed that they all seemed to have a blade of some kind on them. If no one looked at them well, they wouldn't see the sliver of handles in their arm sleeves.

"How are you Nia?" Kane asked carefully while facing the same direction they all were.

"I'm fine." She answered. She had begun to noticed that she had used the phrase more frequently and it began to recall memories of when she had lost herself to her warrior aspect. She had used the phrase often then too.

"I received a signal from the radio. Indra wants to meet." Kane informed.

The words had given Nia much comfort as she had worried that she had lost her mentor due to the massacre. But now that she knew Indra was alive lifting some weight off her shoulders.

"I would love to assist you, Marcus. But if you haven't noticed we had watchers." She informed before doing a careful look over her shoulder.

Kane followed her movements and noticed that there were 3 people huddled beside one another. One he recognized from everywhere he went.

"They've been following us since this morning. Even if one of us branches off, someone follow them." Nia explained what they had observed. "If you need help, I suggest Octavia. She had tried to leave earlier but they wouldn't allow her to pass. And if you are going to do something, you should do it now. Here comes Pike. I can keep the attention on us while you get to Octavia."

He noticed what she was looking at and sure enough the newly elected chancellor was headed their way with a few others, including Bellamy, behind him. With their focus on Nia and the others he took the chance to slip away. He had checked countless times but his guard didn't seem to follow him. He needed to find Octavia.

With Kane gone the group turned to look at the group that was headed their way. Nia took a slight step forward and in front of the girls in case anything should happen. Alec doing the same.

"Good afternoon." Pike greeted in a sickening tone. "I'd hate to bother you all but it had concerned some of my people of your presence near the fence. And it is my duty as Chancellor to set my people's nerves at ease. Would you mind telling us what you seem to be doing?"

Nia shifted her eyes among the group and to those watching. She knew what they were trying to do so she needed to stick with what she her best instincts.

"We were simply paying our respects to our warriors. We don't normally get to a ceremony till after the battle is won but seeing how we have this time we decided to do it now." Nia told them with an expressionless face.

"And you are entitled to that." Pike continued to speak but didn't get further as Nia talked again.

"If you're people have a problem with it then we will leave." She convinced before trying to move around them. She could only hope that Kane got to Octavia in time.

Pike and the others didn't let her get much further as they shuffled in her direction. Everyone froze as they stared at one another. Nia and Alec wanted to inch for their blade but that would only alert them to the weapon.

"I'm afraid I can't allow you to go by." Pike stated his idea shined brightly in his head. "We are going to have to intern you."

Smiles spread on the others faces as they thought of the group in holding but it didn't last for long.

Abby had caught wind of the situation and had hurried to get to the group. She didn't want an altercation to happen within the walls especially with Nia and the others.

When the others went to detain the group they moved a step before Nia spoke up. Each word she said caused a crack into their devious plan.

"And what would be interning us for? You see me nor my group have taken anything from you. Not one of us have taken medical supplies. I'm a healer and I treat them myself. We hunt for ourselves, so we don't take from your rations. And we have no use for your supplies. Alec had even given up his room." Nia listed everything so that they would get the vivid picture.

By that time Abby had made it to them and heard everything Nia had said. She was proud that the girl had caught on to the situation and was able to prevent them getting detained.

What Nia had said shocked everyone around them. Just when they thought they could get a handle on the Grounders in their camp, they had no lead to go on now. They had no reason to detain them.

"If you don't believe me then you can ask your people." Nia stated after the silence had gone to far.

"It's true." Abby supported stepping though the crowd. "They had never needed to use anything from us."

"What about you room?" Hannah said trying to provide a loophole.

"I gave them that room for the food they had brought in and it was more than enough to keep them in there." Abby responded back. She wasn't going to allow Farm Station to overrun those that had helped them especially in front of a crowd.

Pike sighed and looked around. Everyone seemed to have drawn to them in the minutes when he had not realized it. Before they had a solid plan to get them under control but now that plan had just been shot down. If he detained them now then he would have no cause and he would lose the trust of the people.

"If that is all Chancellor, I would think we'd like to retire." Nia announced and moved around them. This time no one stopped them as they went by.

Once they were clear Nia let out a breath that she hadn't realized she was holding. It whole encounter had not only gotten to her but to everyone. Jade clung close while Fox was on edge and Alec seemed to be more alert then ever.

When they had gotten to the room it had dawned on Nia. They had just escaped a public arrest and detaining but that didn't mean they weren't prisoners. From now on their every movement would be watched. They needed to be careful.

The next time they went out they had gone to simply breath the air but it didn't seemed to help as everyone stared at them. On their way back toward the room Jade, being the smallest, was less noticeable and something had been bothering her. So when she saw the opportunity she slipped away with no one noticing her move.

She went down the corridors and down the route she had taken before. She didn't stop until she saw the familiar door. She raised her hand to knock before taking a chance to think about whether it was a bad idea or not.

Inhaling a deep breath once the door was open and she saw him.

"Jade?" Bellamy asked puzzled to why the girl was there at his door. When he glanced outside he noticed she was alone and it made him more curious.
