Lifting The Blockade

Bellamy, Fox, and Jade were waiting anxiously since Nia and Indra had left. The mission was risky and they could get caught at my moment. A moment later they started entering the cave one by one. But something was different, something was wrong. They all head the same sorrowful expressions.

After Octavia entered they still looked ahead waiting for Lincoln to appear. But he never made his appearance making them feel the worse.

"Where's Lincoln?" Bellamy was the one to question his whereabouts.

"Pike put a bullet in his brain." Octavia replied bluntly with no emotion.

It was silent as they came to terms with his death. None of them could believe he was actually gone.

Tears began to roll down Jade's cheeks as she thought of him. Fox pulled her into her side and gently rubbed soothing circles on her back. Both wondering how Nia would take the news. Especially after just learning of Lexa's death. They were already on eggshells with her but this would push her over the edge.

"O. O, I am so sorry." Bellamy tried to apologize but it only angered her as she sent a punch to his face.

The action caught them all off guard. She sent two more punches as Bellamy simply took them.

"Octavia, that's enough." Kane told her not wanting it to continue.

"Kane, stay out of this." Bellamy spoke against him. He had been trying to get any interaction from her or Nia and if this was it he'd take it. Besides a part of him was telling he deserved it. That it was his fault. That he killed Lincoln and Alec.

No one said nothing as Octavia continued her assault. She sent punch after punch, opening wounds till blood began to come out.

"Stop, that's enough." Miller tried to pull Octavia away when Bellamy was down. But she pushed him off as a sob came out.

"Miller, back off." Bellamy told him not wanting any of them to interfere. She sent two more hard punches sending him back down. Her rage visible as she mourned Lincoln.

"You're dead to me." She said as she chocked back her sobs.

The words made Bellamy's heart stop. His whole life, all he had done was to keep her safe, not caring what happened to him but now he had push it beyond the limit. He lost one of his girls. What would Nia do to him when she found out?

It was silent after the confrontation as no one knew what to do. Everyone avoiding any eye contact with either Blake siblings. But it was someone they hadn't expect to help him.

Jade grabbed her pack and made her way to Bellamy. She didn't say a word as she sat there and began to clean his wounds. Everyone watched her as she just cleaned in silence. Nia had been training her to be a healer and now she could prove her teachings.

Bellamy watched as she worked carefully on his face. Her movements reminded him of Nia when she would clean his wounds after training. The memory made him miss both girls being beside him but now they were against him.

When she was finished she packed her kit and went back to Fox. Then the girls remembered Nia's instructions and began to get their packs.

"Where are you going?" Kane asked when he noticed them packing their bags.

"We have instructions." Fox answered for them as they continued what they were doing.

"You can't just leave." Harper spoke out.

"We have to. We were to wait for Lincoln and if he didn't show, we would have to go." Fox further explained ready to leave.

"Just wait, I think I'd be better if you stayed with us. We should stick together until it's all over. It would be easier for Nia to locate you." Kane reasoned hoping it might change their mind.

But it wasn't Kane or the others that made them stay. It was in fact Jade who convinced Fox to stay.

"I'm staying, Fox. You can stay or go, I won't stop you but I think we're need here." She spoke softly to her.

Fox sighed knowing she was going to stay beside Jade. They had promised Nia to look after one another and to do that they had to be together.

"Okay." Fox said as she set her bag back down.

After they had settled themselves in the cave they began to talk their next actions that they would take.

"I say, we run two man patrols, round the clock, staring now." Miller gave his opinion on how to keep surveillance around them.

"We'll do that, but we should be safe here. The Grounder blockade's too close for Pike to risk looking for us." Kane reassured their uneasy nerves.

"Yeah, but are we safe from the blockade?" Bryan, Miller's boyfriend asked. None of them were necessarily close to Bryan and some even wondered if he was just there for Miller, considering he stood alongside Pike as well.

"As long as we stay on this side of the line, we should be." Kane disagreed.

"They're Grounders, you really think they're gonna play by the rules?" Bryan continued to express his disagreement but his words didn't settle right with three on them. One looked at him murderously, another in disbelief while another shuffled oddly.

"Hey, Pike will want you dead now, too. We take him out, we can go home." Miller spoke with Bryan trying to get him to see from their stand point.

"We take him out, then the Grounders lift the blockade." Harper pointed out their reasoning.

"That's right. We become the 13th clan again. Those were the terms." Kane added.

"Lexa's terms. If what Bellamy and the girls says is true and she's dead, how do we know that the next commander will honor them?" Sinclair wondered aloud about how their circumstances might've just changed.

"One problem at a time." Kane commented. They were dealing with too much for them to handle and with Nia opposing them they might have to handle it by themselves.

"What about Clarke? With Lexa gone, she's not safe in Polis." Miller expressed his concern for the blonde haired girl.

"Clarke made her choice. The only thing that matters now is killing Pike." Octavia retorted still mad that Clarke had chosen not to come with her.

"Octavia's right. Once we resume our place in the commander's coalition, Clarke will be safe. So, how do we do it?" Kane spoke to them.

Before they could answer him the radio sounded. "Bellamy, come in. It's Monty, I'm in trouble. Please say you still have your radio."

Kane held out his hand to respond but Sinclair was the voice of reason. "If we respond and Pike's listening-"

"Go to channel 7." Bellamy spoke up listening to their conversation. "'Please say you still have your radio.' That's seven words after the word 'trouble'. It's code. Go to seven." He further explained after a moment of silence.

After a moment of hesitation, they changed the channel and hoped for the best. "Monty, it's Kane. What's wrong?"

"Pike knows that I helped you get out." Monty explained after hearing Kane's voice.

"Can you get to the dropship?" Kane asked trying to think of the best possible way to get him safely.

"I think so." Monty replied.

"Good, go there. I'll bring you in. Stay off the radio. Over and out." Kane instructed quickly after.

"Hold on, what if it's a trap and Pike's waiting?" Harper questioned not wanting to get caught after all they had done.

"That's why I'm going alone." Kane assured as he began to get ready to leave.

"Like hell you are." Octavia called out as she got up as well.

"I'm with Octavia. Monty saved out lives. I'm going, too." Miller insisted on helping his friend.

"No, you're not. If it is a trap, I'm not marching our entire insurgency into it." Kane told them otherwise.

"To stop me, you're going to have to kill me." Octavia was set on going.

"She hopes it's a trap." Bellamy spoke out knowing that Octavia wanted to have revenge for what Pike did to Lincoln.

"He's coming too. We need a hostage to trade for Monty." Octavia suggested not wanting to deal with her brother's antics anymore.

"That's a good plan. He stays chained, gag him." Kane agreed not wanting to give Bellamy back but they couldn't trust his intentions.

"Sir, with all due respect-" Miller tried to disagree.

"He's the enemy. Do what I said." Kane reasoned before ordering.

"I'm going too." Fox called out making everyone glance at her. "You're gonna need a lookout incase someone comes up behind you."

Her reasoning was good and Kane wanted to speak out against it but she made a valid point. He had seen the training Nia and the others had given Fox and Jade and would feel comfortable having her close by.

Jade went to grab her sword wanting to help as well but Fox stopped her as quickly as she saw her. "No, you're not coming." Fox insisted once she had the girl's attention.

"But I can help too." Jade tried to reason but Fox shook her head.

"No. It's too big of a risk for you to come along. If Nia's not here, I will do what I have to to protect you." Fox explained. Since they had been close to Nia, the girls had developed a sisterly relationship with one another. And she knew that she wouldn't allow anything to happen to the girl.

Jade sighed knowing she couldn't argue her way into going. But a part of her still cared for Bellamy as she hoped that maybe he regretted everything he had done. She didn't like being on the opposite side of them, not after all the time they spent together. But there was nothing she could do.

They're eyes darted back and forth all around them as they searched for any kind of sign that Pike's people might be out there. They were careful and precise with their movements. When they reached a distance from the dropship Fox branched off to get herself positioned in the trees.

The trees were a difficult skill to master but Fox had been learning since they had established the ceasefire. She found a good tree to climb but when she got a couple feet up, a force pulled her back.

She hit the ground hard as she looked up to her attacker. One of Pike's people stood above her with a smirk. She grabbed a dagger from her but he saw the move and quickly stepped on her hand stopping her from anymore moves.

He sent a kick to her stomach before pulling her up by her hair and placing his gun by her temple. She tried to resist but his hold tighten the more she squirmed. They began to walk in the direction of the dropship and entered after Kane had placed his gun down.

Their plan was failing as Octavia tried to hold her position against Bellamy. But with a quick move, Bellamy knocked Octavia to the ground allowing the other guards to place them in cuffs.

But what surprised them all was when Bellamy informed Pike about the others whereabouts. Octavia went to attack him but was shock lashed.

As Fox watched this unfold, she felt this guilt and disappointment overcome her. She had failed to be a warrior that Nia had taught her to be. She had failed to keep Jade safe, instead she may have lead her straight into danger. She should have fought against the girl's words and taken her to the cave to wait for Nia. But that didn't matter now as they began their trek through the forest.

Bellamy had plenty of time to think since being tied up in the cave. He had seen the destruction he had caused to Nia and the girls as they barely looked at him. He had betrayed their trust. It was not only them that he had hurt but his sister as well. The one person he had sworn to protect, he had betrayed. He had to figure out a way to correct his mistakes.

When Pike approached him he felt that that was the time to discuss the matters running through his head. First he would ask about his sister, she was after all Skairku may be their would give him some slack.

Pike had been wanting to get the boy back by his side. With him there they could have more control so he offered him a deal to all Octavia to be cleared of all her crimes.

Bellamy needed more time as they walked though the trees. So he took the time to ask about the girls. He needed some reassurance that they wouldn't be consider guilty for their actions as well. But more importantly he wanted to ensure that Nia and their child would be safe.

"I know it's far fetched for me to ask but I have to. Nia, Fox and Jade, what would happen to them?" He questioned carefully.

Pike sighed knowing this topic would come up with him. He didn't like the idea of Nia and the girls around his people but it was what matter to Bellamy.

"I understand why you worry about them but I must express my worry about the influence they might cause in camp." Pike told him expecting Bellamy to reply but them he noticed his surroundings halting everyone in their steps.

It happened quickly as the horn blew and the guard began to fall. Seeing a guard advance toward Bellamy who held Pike at gun point she quickly made her way behind him and wrapped her cuffs around his throat.

After much discussion, the Grounders took Pike with Kane following behind. He would speak with the new commander in hopes of salvation. But all that Fox could do was think about the life she had taken. A part of her heavy as the guilt laid on her but another relived that they could get nowhere near Jade. She would keep her safe for as long as Nia was away.

What she didn't see was Bellamy looking at her in concern. He had known her to be a pure soul but watching her take a life was something else. He didn't want her to be haunted like the ones he suffered from.
