Good-Byes

When Nia was called back into the room, Octavia was preparing for the warriors to bring all of Skaikru for selection. Each clans was assigned a level making it easier for Nia to take the girls.

"You could still change your mind." Octavia spoke to her hoping to have her by her side.

"Not likely. But I'll leave after I get the girls settled." She went to turn but stopped short from leaving. "If you require assistance in getting Raven, I would like to offer my services."

"Thank you Nia that would be much appreciated." Kane said before she was lost to the crowd.

It was chaos as warriors from every clan was working to bring Skaikru out. Nia and the girls walked against the flow of the crowd as they looked for somewhere for them to bunk.

In the office, Bellamy and the others were discussing their options while and Bellamy offered to help get Raven. Since Nia's announcement, the only think on his mind was Nia's decision. He wouldn't allo her to give up like that and if he could convince her otherwise, then the trip might be the best opportunity.

He went to the side door and knocked, a moment later the door opened and Tate stood there. Bellamy stepped inside and followed Tate as he had more knowledge of where he was going. He knew Tate had a place in the bunker already and wondered if Nia had any say in the decision.

They approached a door and could hear laughter coming from inside. He opened the door and saw a sight that he wished he could state at forever.

Nia stood watching as the girls unpacked what they had while fighting over beds. Fox had already chosen a bed in the corner while the younger girls discussed who got a top bunk. But the sight made Nia happy to see them act like there was no threat for them to face.

"Look there's a bed for you and Bellamy." Lynn said out of the blue not realizing her words.

"Well we don't know where he might stay, Lynn." Nia stated but the words caused the girl to frown a little. "But who know what could happen. There's always a possibility."

Tate cleared his throat from the doorway catching their attention. At their presence Nia knew it was time for her to leave.

"Do you have to go?" Jade asked not wanting her to leave them.

"Someone had to her Raven." But the two girls held sadden expressions. "Hey, I'm going over there and I'm coming back. I promise." Now comforted without revealing the whole truth.

She pulled them into head and let out a sigh. She placed a kiss on both their heads before standing and walking out.

Fox watched the encounter closely and was quick to follow. She didn't like the feeling she was getting. Something wasn't right and Nia's words seemed vague.

"You're not coming back are you?" She called out after they had rounded the corner. The trio walking back to the surface stopped.

Nia turned back with a small smile while Bellamy tensed at the question. The looks on their face gave Fox the confirmation she needed.

"I should've known I couldn't keep things from you." Nia remarked stepped toward her.

"Why? We have the bunker. We don't have to worry about Praimfaya." Fox tried to understand why she wouldn't be with them.

"Since I've met you and those girls, all I've wanted was to keep you safe. When we were outside it felt like danger lurked at every corner. But when we learned about Praimfaya, I thought that this would be something I couldn't protect you from. Then we found the bunker and there was hope. Well, at least for you three." Nia began to explain hoping she would understand. "I wanted a life different from the one I lived and maybe you can live that down here. But I can't, not after everything that happened. It's just time."

Fox didn't wanted it to be her answer. She wanted her to stay with them but she understood her. Nia's life was spent fighting and the more she seemed to fight, the more she was consumed into darkness. Nia kom Trikru was done fighting and accepting her fate.

The girl wasted not time going into a hug and trying to keep this moment locked in her memory. She didn't want to pull away but did so with a strong expression on her face.

"My scared girl is not a fierce warrior." Nia spoke to her while placing a hand on her cheek. "Keep your sisters safe for me."

With that said Nia turned and began making her way toward the door. Fox stood there watching her leave and a tear fell from her eye. "May we meet again, mom."

Nia let out another sigh when she saw those lining up beside the door. It seemed as if she wouldn't be able to leave without a word.
Gaia, Indra, and Octavia stood there understanding and respecting her actions. But this would be a huge lost in not only their lives but many others.

"Couldn't let me go without a good-bye?" Nia addresses stepping toward them.

"Not a chance." Octavia spoke up.

Since Gaia was the first in front of her she decided to make her way down the line. As much as she didn't want to do this she had to.

"At least I got to see you again and wouldn't have to worry about you." Nia commented.

"A warrior and a priestess who would've thought we'd ever be friends." Gaia joked seeing how scouts had always been more connected to the commander, the Flame and their spirit of the commander. Warriors never took liking to a scout thinking that they were always using their spirituality into keeping them from fighting.

Gaia's smiled fade after a moment. Nia and her had trained together once and when she had left to become a scout, Nia didn't turn her away like others had.

"It's good that you're home." Nia said finally before the two shared a hug. "May the Spirit of the Commanders guide you and protect you."

She stepped toward Indra who held an uncertainty in he eyes. "You won't be able to change my mind." Nia stated knowing what she might do.

"You were always a fighter. The world must be ending if you are admitting defeat." Indra pointed out rememebering when she had begun her training. The girl would no give up No matter how many times she had been beaten. It was the same spirit that she saw in Octavia when she asked to be trained. The two were two of a kind and would make one hell of a duo.

"A warrior never admits defeat but accepts their fate before their training." Nia told her the same phrase that Indra had when she first began. Becoming a warrior was not an easy task and there was always the possibility of them being beaten and dying. They needed to have that understanding no matter what.

"It was a pleasure to train you and a privilege to fight beside you." Indra responded pulling her into a hug as well. The words from the tower still lingering in her mind but there was nothing she could do to change Nia's mind.

"I actually have something for you." Nia addressed Octavia when she stepped before her. She reached into the bag making everyone curious.

She pulled out a jar with one single butterfly. This wings fluttered making the jar glow blue. Octavia looked at it in wonderment as she took it from her. It still looked as beautiful as it did when she first saw it.

"Nia-" Octavia went to speak but Nia held her hand up. She pulled the bag from her shoulder and held it to her.

"Can you make sure they get this after it's all over?" Nia requested pulling the bag open. Inside were three more jars holding a similar butterfly. "You show them the warrior inside you."

Nia didn't say anything else as she walked toward the door where Tate was waiting. Bellamy went to follow behind but his sister's hand grabbed his arm.

"Don't let her give in." Octavia told him knowing he would be on the trip as well. "If anyone can change her mind, it's you."

Bellamy nodded his head and went to follow Nia. He knew what he would do and it didn't matter if she didn't want to. She shouldn,t allow Praimfaya to take her.

When she stepped to the door she turned to Tate who stood there. Her attention on him and not the Blake siblings behind her.

"Can you watch out for them?" She asked not sure what his answer might be.

"I will see this order out until my last day." Tate stated acting like a guard taking orders from a commander.

"It's not an order or a command, it's a request." Nia shook her head at his words. She didn't want him to think that she was ordering him when she wasn't in a position to.

"To me it is because you should be the commander." Tate remarked in a hushed tone.

"Maybe in another life." Nia responded seeing how there might've been a chance for her to take the Flame and for her to rule as Lexa had done.

Nia stepped out the door and didn't look back. She entered the office and nodded her head in the direction of Kane and Abby before leaving the office. Bellamy followed behind her and made sure that no one got too close as they made their way to the surface.

There they readied themselves to head outside. Nia had refused a suit but Bellamy insisted and wouldn't let up until she had one on. Abby instructed them before two bodies entered and were willing to join them. Finally, they made their way outside but before they all left Abby slipped Bellamy an item which he hid quickly.

Nia, Emori and Murphy rode in the back of the cargo truck while Bellamy and Clarke rode up front. Nia sat close to the opening to keep a lookout while the others sat toward the back. Emori and Murphy were speaking in hushed whispers when the truck hit something and began to stir off course.

The impact happened seconds later and sent Nia flying toward the others. The sound of people approaching caught their attention. People were rushing toward the truck. Nia took her sword from its holster and went toward the opening.

She kicked one back and stabbed another but her leg was pulled slamming her body onto the truck. The hot was enough to make her dazed before her body was pulled out of the truck. She sent a kick to the one who tried to overpower her and stumbled to her feet. She hurried to her sword which was still embedded in one of them and pulled it free. Her eyes darted around for an incoming attack before they landed on Bellamy who was stuggling against one. Without wasting a moment she rushed over and dug the sword inside their back.

But this caught another's attention as they tackled her to the ground. She sent a fist to his jaw enough to get him off of her her. The sound of a knife made her hurry to stand and face her attacker. Her had a dagger and made a swipe at her which she dodged. But his swipes kept coming till her back hit a tree.

He went to cut her but she was able to grab a hold of his wrist and used all her strength to keep the knife from her. But he had another idea as he sent his knee into her side. The blow caused her to lessen her trip for a second which caused him to swipe toward her. She dodge the attack but now the knife was on the opposite side of her. She pulled his wrist toward her and it slammed hard into the trunk. The knife fell but he was quick to wrap his hands around her throat.

She had no more advantage as the grip tightened and her air became compromised. Her fight dwindled as time passed until suddenly the pressure was lifted.

Bellamy stood behind the man and jammed the knife he had lifted into his back. Once he was on the ground, he went to Nia to make sure she was okay. After making sure she was fine he left to check on the others. All were in shock to see that Echo had saved them except Nia. Her back was turned to the others and her her eyes focused on the arm of her sleeve.

It was tiny but it was there. A small cut on the lining of her sleeve with a cut on her skin.
