I just put Danny to sleep and I go back to living room where Hero is waiting for me with some wine. He visited us and I proposed him to stay overnight.

"He is finally sleeping." I say and I sit on the couch, next to him. "He's obsessed with you. He kept asking me if you will be here when he wakes up. Next time, I will let you put him to sleep."

"I will do it with pleasure, Josephine."

"Good." I say and I take a sip from my wine.

"I have to tell you something."

"I'm listening."

"My family is coming to Chicago next week and they really want to meet you nd Danny. Will you join us for dinner?"

"Huh? You family?"

"Yeah. It's a good opportunity to meet them."

"Uhm... I don't know what to say. What if they won't like me?"

"Oh, trust me... They will. Mom can't wait to meet you and Danny. I always talk about you two."

"That's sweet of you." I put my hand on his cheek.

"So? Dinner on me next Saturday?"

"Yes."

"Perfect." He smiles and I kiss him.

"Tell me about what happened last week. You were really disturbed."

"Oh... Well... That patient committed suicide. She tried with pills first, but her parents found her and she was admitted in hospital. But... She had a small knife. She cut herself and we couldn't do anything..."

"I don't know what was going on in her head. When she came to me for the first time, we tried to solve everything. But with time, she skipped our meetings. And here we are."

"It's not your fault."

"I know. It was meant to be. At first, it was awkward because I'm a psychologist and you don't have cases of death. But in some rare cases... The death cross this path."

"I really appreciate you for your job. You have to be really strong to be like this."

"Thank you." He kisses my forehead.

"Uhm, now... Going to us..." I say as I straddle his lap. "Danny is a heavy sleeper and we can have fun."

"As much as I would love to have you, I don't think we should do this with Danny in the house."

"I promise he will sleep all night long." I wrap my arms around his neck. "Please... We won't be interrupted. I know him."

"Okay..." He sighs. "Let me turn off my phone."

"Let's go upstairs."

I take his hand and he gets up, following me to my bedroom. As we get inside, I lock the door and I go directly to kiss him. Let's hope we won't be interrupted this time.

"No teasing. You know it's beena while and I want you."

"You never pleased yourself?" He says as he takes off my t-shirt.

"Good to know that." He removes my bra and I take off his blouse.

"I mentioned before how good you look? Are you working out?"

"Once a week and I sometimes jog outside."

We quickly remove our bottom parts and we move on the bed.

After a warm shower, we go back to my bedroom and we collect our clothes from the floor. Hero puts on his boxers and I take some lingerie and my pajamas. I get dressed and I get in bed.

"Don't be surprised in the morning, if Danny walks in."

"He comes here?"

"Yeah. It's his habit since he was one. He doesn't come every day, but in the weekends, he likes to come and stay with me after he wakes up."

"Nice. Good night." He kisses my forehead.

"Good night."

A few days later...

Today, me and Danny are going to meet Hero's family. And I'm really nervous because no one would want to have a potential daughter-in-law with a kid. I didn't tell this to Hero because I don't want him to worry about it. Danny, on the other side, is excited to meet Hero's parents and sister. They arrived two days ago and tonight, we're having dinner at Hero's place.

We bought some flowers for his mother and sister and a bottle of whiskey for his father. Let's hope everything will go well.

I park my car and I help Danny to get out. I take the presents for Hero's family and we walk to his building. Wa take the elevator to the last floor and then we walk to his apartment. I let Danny to knock at the door and Hero opens it immediately.

Danny: "Hero!!!"

Hero: "Hi buddy."

Jo: "Hi." I smile and he pecks my lips.

Hero: "Hi."

We get inside and I see the three people from Hero's life. He looks exactly like his mother, but I can see that he's handsome as his father. His sister seems to be nice and I can't wait to know them.

Hero: "Mom, dad, Mercy... This is Josephine, my girlfriend, and her son, Danny. Jo, Danny, this is my mother, Martha, my father, George, and my sister, Mercy."

Mercy: "Hi Danny. Hero told me a lot about you."

Danny: "He did?!"

Mercy: "Yeah. Do you wanna play with me?"

Danny: "Yes!" They walk away and I give the presents to Hero, then I take off my coat.

Martha: "It's nice to finally meet you, Josephine. Hero told us a lot about you and Danny."

Jo: "I can say the same. We bought some flower for you and Mercy and a bottle of whiskey for you, Mr. Fiennes."

George: "Thank you. And you can call me George."

Hero: "Do you want something to drink?"

Jo: "Just some water. I'm driving."

Hero: "Alright."

We sit on the couch and we start to talk. I had a first bad opinion about Hero's parents. They seems fine with me being Hero's girlfriend even if I have a child. And it's good because even if we're together for a short time, I see myself with Hero in the future. After a while, Danny and Mercy came back and he started to talk with Martha and George.

After we had dinner, we talked again. Danny disappeared from the living room.

Jo: "Have you seen Danny?"

Mercy: "I think he is in Hero's bedroom. He followed Diesel there."

Jo: "I'm going to check on him." I get up and I walk in Hero's bedroom where I found Danny sleeping on the floor with his head on Diesel. "Oh..."

"Jo?" I hear Hero saying and he stops behind me.

"I think we should go home. He's tired."

"Stay overnight."

"Your family is here..."

"They have an Airbnb. It's just me."

"Okay... How I am supposed to take him from there?"

"I will help you."

"But first, I should take a photo." I giggle and I take a picture with Danny.

Hero gently lifts him up and he puts him on the bed. I gently take off his jeans and blouse and I'm happy he didn't wake up. Hero covers him and we leave the room.

Mercy: "Danny?"

Hero: "He's sleeping."

Martha: "We should go too. It's already late."

Mercy: "Yeah."

We all get up and we lead them to the door. We say goodbye and Hero closes the door.

"I'm sorry because Danny felt asleep."

"There is no problem, Josephine. My parents already loves you both."

"They are really nice. They raised you well. And the bond between you and Mercy is something else. I hope in the future I will give Danny a brother or a sister."

"Do you want more kids?"

"I do. It's nice to have a sister or a brother. Even if sometimes they are pissing you." I giggle.

"I also want kids. Maybe in the future... We..."

"Are you feeling the same? Like... I see myself with you in the future, having a family, growing old together..."

"I really do."

Hero spent the night with Jo and Danny. His family is coming and he wanted to present Jo and Danny to them.

And they finally had some time together 😅
