(Hermione)

It was now October. School had been going great, my cheek had fully healed and I hadn't seen or spoken to Ron in over a month. It was a Saturday, and I woke up quite early. I got up, got showered and changed, I decided on wearing a red knitted jumper with high waisted black jeans and my black combat boots. I tied my hair up and decided on no make up. I slipped my wand into my boot and walked out to see Draco reading on the sofa "Malfoyyy" I sang "Oh that's a new one" he laughed "Don't forget we've a prefect meeting later on to discuss the Halloween dance" I said chucking him over a green apple

"got it, you have any ideas?" He asked, I walked over and sat on one of the poofies "I was thinking of splitting the dances so like 1st-4th have their dance this Thursday, and then 5th-7th have theirs on Friday, obviously being careful to make sure only the 7th years get alcohol if we can bribe Mcgonagol into letting us bring a bottle or two" I finished "good good, breakfast?" He questioned getting up "Oh yes! I'm starving and I'm craving pancakes!!" I shouted jumping up and running out the door.

When we arrived in the hall the only gryffindor up was Ron "come on, you can sit with me" Draco said, pulling me over to the Slytherin table. We sorted out breakfast and began to talk "we've gotten quite close this past month, don't you think?" I asked "We have" he hummed "our mothers would be sooo proud" I laughed "I think it's just the fact we literally do spend 24/7 with each other. If we aren't with the group we are in the common room you know?" He said, taking a bit of bacon.

I nodded and we chatted for another while. Astoria was the first of the rest of the group up and sat beside Draco "Morninggg" she said excitedly "what's got you in a good mood?" I asked "Yea you're never in a good mood in the morning" Draco said suspiciously "oh I've just......I'm planning on doing something today and I'm just excited that's all" she said with a smile, me and Draco raised an eyebrow at one another before laughing. The rest of the group joined us including Harry and Ginny who were always with us now

"Oh hermione, the girls in Gryffindor have been making comments about you, I obviously told them if they didn't stop they'd get my famous bat boogey hex but I thought I should tell you" Ginny said, sitting beside me "That's nothing new, who all was saying things?" I asked "Lavendar, that girl Olivia and Tilly" she said, I scanned the gryffindor table to find them and I did "Hermione...don't do anything stupid" Pansy said, bracing herself for a quick get up.

I stood up just as she did "stupid? me?, of course not" I said walking over to the table, Pansy right behind me. The others just watched. We sat infront of the three girls "Hermione, heyy. The dorms so lonely without you" lavender said, her voice high pitched "I'm sure you aren't missing me too much. It's gives you three time to bitch about me. If I hear from anyone that my name came out of your mouths one more time I won't be to worried about deducting house points and dishing out detentions because I'm pretty sure I know the three girls who shoved that first year Hufflepuff down the stairs!" I said, they just stared and nodded.

I smiled and got up, Pansy grabbed a piece of toast off one of their plates "bye bye" she said sweetly before linking arms with me and walking away. We sat back down at the Slytherin table to see the faces of everyone looking quite shocked "you are taking the piss aren't you?" Pansy asked sitting down "didn't think Hermione had it in her" Theo said

"I didn't survive 7 years of constant abuse from people and not defend myself. Just ask Draco I'm pretty sure he remembers the last time he ever crossed me properly" I smirked tapping Draco's nose "don't ya drake" I laughed "It was bloody amazing!" Theo and Harry said at the same time "JINX!" They shouted "SHIT JINX!" They shouted again before laughing.

I decided on heading to the library to catch up on some of my reading. I sat in the back corner reading my favourite book, hogwarts a history. No matter how many times I read it I always get that excitement I did when I first opened the book in first year. I was in there an hour before the door opened again, I looked up and seen ron walk through the door. I turned back to my book but footsteps began to approach me, I closed it and sat up, crossing my arms and meeting his eyes

"can we talk?" He asked, I stood up holding the book in my hand "no." I said bluntly walking away but he followed me, he followed me right to the common room door "No...Ronald means no." I said, his hand touched my shoulder and I swung round and grabbed it "What did I tell you in that alley way!? If you come near me again I'll do more than hex you. Now fuck off" I shouted just as the door opened "Oh Mione, I thought I heard your voice" Draco said, pulling me over to him "problem weasel?" He asked Ron, "no. I just want to speak to hermione.... ferret" he spat "well it's clear she doesn't want to speak to you so goodbye." Draco said pulling us in and slamming the door.

I collapsed on the loveseat "merlin" I muttered "what happened?" Draco asked, sitting beside me "I just wanted to read and he came in and asked to talk. I said no and he followed me up here and then you opened the door and yea" I sighed, Draco wrapped his arm round me and I laid my head on his shoulder "I wish I could just make him leave me alone" I muttered

"things will work themselves out. Anyway we've the meeting in half n hour why don't we get prepped and sort some snacks aswell?" He asked "yea" I smiled getting up and dragging him to the kitchen. We grabbed a bottle of pumpkin juice and a few biscuits and sweets. We sat them on the table just as the prefects walked in, one downside to this whole meeting was Ronald was a gryffindor prefect so I couldn't make him leave.

We all sat down me and Draco sat at one end and the rest gathered round "so we need ideas for the Halloween party's. Hermiones suggested to separate the 1st-4th years from the 5th-7th years. Everyone agree with that?" Draco asked, everyone nodded "Right then we are gonna split you in to two groups, the first group will work on planning the younger ones party and the other group will work on the older ones. Me and Draco will pick the teams" I said

"sooo I'll take. Harry, Theo, Ginny, Luna, Paul and Weasel" Draco said, I gave him a greatfull smile "that means I've got Pansy, Blaise, dean, Hannah, Nathan, scarlet and Matthew" I smiled, I brought my group over to the fire "so we are working on the older Halloween party so what ideas to we have" I asked "Definatly everyone needs to dress up! Preferably not to slutty" Hannah said, everyone nodded as Matthew wrote ideas down

"We'll need snacks, loads of them! Oh and music!!" Blaise said excitedly "we could ask for that band that played at the Yull ball to do both party's" I said "Great idea!" Matthew said. We quickly organised the rest and everyone left. Apart from Harry, Ginny, Theo, Blaise and Pansy "so we just need to get this approved and we are sorted" Ginny said, she took the sheets and her and Blaise left to go to mcgonagols.

We all decided on a trip to hogsmade. We headed into the three broomsticks "so butterbeers all round?" I asked, everyone nodded "I'll give you a hand!" Pansy said jumping up. When we ordered we started to chat "so you and Draco?" She asked "what about us?" I laughed "you two are awfully close aren't you" She winkined "we aren't a thing! Anyway Astoria likes him" I said "well I don't think he's got his eye on her" looking over in the direction of Draco to see him turn away from looking at us.

Blush spread across my cheeks "So changing the topic, apparently astorias doing something like superrr exciting, she was all giddy this morning about it" I laughed "merlin she wouldn't shut up about it last night but she wouldn't tell us what it was" Pansy said, taking three butterbeers in her hand as I took another four. We walked over and handed them out and took our seats.

We all chatted and laughed. 30minutes later Ron walked in, his arm linked with lavender. His eyes met mine and I threw him a dirty look. He looked jealous of the fact we all were together "ignore him" Draco whispered in my ear, wrapping and arm round my shoulder. I nodded and re-joined the conversation.

When we arrived back we had dinner and parted ways for the night. Me and Draco walked up to the common room and I sat at the desk getting the last of my homework finished, when Draco came over with two cups of hot chocolate there was a knock on the door, he passed me my cup and then answered it "Astoria hi, come in" he said "Hey" i said with a smile, she smiled back and turned to Draco

"drake, could we chat?...in private" she asked, turning to me "oh I'll head upstairs" i said grabbing my bag and walking up the twisty stairs. I placed the bag in my room and closed the door sitting at the top of the stairs out of view "well...I needed to tell you something" she said, she sounded nervous "what's up?" He asked "um so we've been friends for like ever and you might already know this but I um....I really like you...and I thought maybe we could...maybe get together and see what happens?" She finished, my eyes widened

I slowly moved down the stairs so I could see them but only Draco could see me as she had her back turned "oh...Umm" he started, his eyes wondered till they met mine. I could feel my breathing stop as his face fell slightly "I'm sorry Astoria" he said looking at me "I like someone else..." he finished, I felt myself catch my breath again and I moved back up the stairs slightly "Y..you what?" She studdered "I.....I like someone else" he said

"Who! Is it that bitch Hermione!?" She shouted, I heard her footsteps head for the stairs and I jumped up and ran to my room closing the door and sitting at my desk pretending to do work when she barged in, "Astoria??" I questioned "You couldn't let me have him!? EVERY guy has liked you since 4th year but you HAD to take the guy I LIKED!" She yelled, I got up and she moved into my face, Draco stood at the door. He smirked slightly, he knew what was going to happen

"Excuse you! But me and Draco aren't anything!? He's one of my best friends as I thought you were! Now if you dare think you are going to come in here after I've done fuck all to you but be nice and scream your head off because he just sees you as a friend then you can get the fuck out!" I shouted, she stormed out, I followed her right to the door "Don't let the door hit you on the way out you bitch!" I said, slamming it shut. I put my back to it and slid down, resting my head I'm on my knees.

Draco came over and grabbed my hands pulling me up "If this is how my years going to go I want to leave" I sighed, he just laughed pulling me closer "I think there will be a slight silver lining to it" he said his hand resting on the bottom of my back "what do you mean?" I asked confused. Seconds later his lips met mine, I stood in pure shock before reacting quickly after. I wrapped my arms round his neck as he gently pushed me against the door, his hands moving there way down. Minutes later I pulled away, my forehead resting on his

"I told you it wouldn't be the last time" he said, smirking. I laughed placing my lips on his again. Afterwards we parted ways and went into are separate rooms, a smile on both are faces...
