Hermiones pov

I walked quickly through the ministry, my arm linked with Blaises as we headed to the ministers office. It was Christmas Eve and my father was due to be released on the 29th. This was our last chance to change something before the final court date. We knocked on the door and were let in, when we walked through he had three cups of tea sitting waiting "Miss zabini, mister zabini what can I do for you both?" The minister asked

"change the sentence" I said "Miss zabini.." he began "no, I'm not listening to this same argument. Lucius Malfoy done less messed up crap than my father and he was killed but my father gives you a couple of hide outs and he's free!? That's bullshit!" I said "Miss zabini, once again your father has been a lot help tracking down death eaters!" The minister said "I think you are forgetting he is one himself! I grew up with that man as a father figure shaklebolt....he is not a nice man and if you are to release him he'll try and start another war! For merlins sake my mother has had to move away from London just to make sure he does not find her! What life is that" Blaise said

"I understand how difficult this must be for you but the final decision is to be made in court. He is set to be freed and that is what is too happen. Now if you come to my office again about this I will have you removed by security!" The minister shouted. Blaise went to the door but I stayed seated "you were a father figure to me when I obliviated my adopted parents.....you helped me through so much and when I found out who I was you promised I would never have to meet my father...that he would never be released. You swore on merlin himself.....I trusted you shaklebolt...I trusted you with all of my heart and now, me and my brother must spend Christmas with out our mother due to her being in hiding because of you. Do not ever think to turn to me if you have an issue minister....because you will never be anything but a liar to me and I don't help liars" I spat

grabbing my purse and walking out, Blaise slamming the door. We apparated out and arrived at Draco's house. We were all staying there for Christmas as the others parents were in hiding due to my fathers release as well, well everyone's but Astoria.

We walked through the front door and placed our cloaks on the coat hanger, when we walked into the living room they were all sitting in front of the fire doing their own thing. Pansy was asleep on Harry's lap, Ginny and Draco where talking and Theo and Harry were reading over some quidditch book. Ginny looked up and began to get up "how did it go?" She asked, gaining the attention of everyone else "he didn't budge" Blaise said, collapsing beside Ginny

"he says unless we can make an overall change at his release court date there's nothing else we can do" I said as I went to draco, he opened his arms as he sat on the seat and cuddled into his chest "we'll sort this out guys, we promise" Harry said, his hand on my shoulder "I don't think we can.." I said with a sigh. "Well, to lighten the mood. I stopped round at mums earlier and she made us all mince pies and cake!" Ginny said as she walked out to go grab them.

My face lit up when I seen her walk in again "excited are we?" Draco asked "you will be too when you try a slice of that cake, it tastes like literal heaven" I said as Ginny handed me a slice, I gave draco a bite and his eyes widened "oh my god" he said " I know!" I said with a smile continuing to eat it "why don't we play a game of truths!" Theo said, we all gathered round in a circle. And grabbed an empty bottle "saying we have no alcohol if you've done the thing the person said you've to take a shot of this strange tasting muggle drink" Theo said

"it's coke Theo" I said with a laugh "whatever, I'll start!" Ginny began "never have I ever.....snuck into a professors office" I looked at Harry and bring my glass to my mouth the same time as he did "wait what!? What for!" Blaise asked "we needed to grab....we'll I needed to grab potion ingredients for something and....yea" I said with a sly smile "right well that shocked me, anyway never have I ever....skinny dipped" Pansy said, I watched as Blaise and Draco's glasses went to their mouths "oh god I hope it wasn't together" Ginny said with a smirk

"do I even want to know?" I asked Draco "probably not" he said with a laugh, I hit his elbow as the bottle spinner and landed on me "go on then Mione" Blaise said "never have I ever.....gotten drunk and done stuff with someone in this room" I said, as I watched the other, Draco, Blaise Pansy and Ginnys glasses went to their mouths "how do you think me a gin started" Blaise said with a laugh. The other two just looked at each other "didn't you like date in 4th year? There's no way you did something with each other then!" Harry said with a laugh

"I...it was actually over summer" Pansy said, her head slightly down "oh.." was all I could say "well that was summer! And you have harry and I have Draco. No hard feelings pans, me and Draco weren't even dating" I said, grabbing her hand. She smiled and we continued "your go Mione" Blaise said "hmmm never have I ever....had a one night stand" I said with a smirk, once again Draco and pansys glasses went to their lips and that guilty look went across her face. Not once did Draco seem to feel guilty about it though.

The game continued for awhile before we all went to bed, I couldn't sleep though. With my father being released it seemed like this would be the worst Christmas, I got up and gathered all my presents for everyone and put them under the tree in Draco's living room. When I walked in Pansy was there, I put them down and sat beside her "pans?" I said, she jumped "you scared me Mione" she said with a gasp "sorry, you okay?" I asked "not really....I don't know I shouldn't be having a mini pity party over it but I am" she sighed

"I feel I owe you an explanation" she said turning to me "Pansy I've already said it doesn't bother me, it was over summer so stop worrying" I said, she took my hand "Hermione....we um...well it wasn't me it was Astoria....she well....she kissed Draco...after you had made up. I was doing patrols and I seen them, she had asked to meet him or something I don't know. She kissed him, he shoved her off and I heard him shouting but she didn't look guilty....it was like she liked the fact she got in trouble" Pansy finished, I felt my blood boil

"I...I...I'm going to kill her" I shouted "who the fuck does she think she is!" I yelled "Hey what's with the noise!" The rest said as they scale downstairs, I went straight to Draco "How dare you not tell me that she kissed you! How could you not tell me!" I shouted "wait who kissed Draco?" Theo asked "your fucking girlfriend! After she had gotten out of the hospital!" I yelled "Mione calm down" Blaise said

Pansy had a grip on my arms so I wouldnt run "Calm down? This is the shitest Christmas of my life and now I find out one of my best friends is going round kissing my boyfriend!" I yelled, I wriggled out of pansys grip and stormed upstairs

Draco's pov

"Fuck sake..."Blaise said, chasing up after her "Who the fuck found out about that?" I asked "I did! And it's been killing me for weeks hiding it from my best friend!" Pansy said "and you couldn't have waited until after her father released!?" I questioned, she started to get in my face "you should have told her weeks ago you dickhead!" Pansy shouted before Harry took her upstairs.

I looked at the others, Theo looked baffled "mate I didn't kiss her back, I shoved her off straightaway" I said "honestly Draco, not in the mood. It's 2am so I'm going back to bed. Then I'm going to wake up at 8am and open presents with my friend" he said before going up to bed. Ginny had went up with Blaise so I decided to go up and try to speak with Hermione. When I had gotten up to our bedroom Ginny was outside the door, I heard Hermiones cry's from outside the room. My heart broke

"Mione it's going to be okay I promise" I heard Blaise say "yea sure, my best friend is kissing my boyfriend, he didn't have the balls to tell me and then that asshole of a father of ours is out pretty much straight after!" She cried, I opened the door to my room "Hermione" I began "get out" she said "what?" I questioned "get out, you aren't deaf Draco you heard me. Get out" she said, tears still falling

"you're acting as if I kissed her back, and I won't be leaving my own room!" I said walking over "how would I know if you kissed her back, you seem pretty guilty about it saying you've hid it for weeks!" She cried "if you would just let me explain" I pleaded "no. I am going to bed, you're going to sleep in another room. Then I'm going to wake up, and enjoy Christmas as if this never happened. Everything will go back to normal for one god damn day!" She shouted before shoving me out of the room and slamming the door. I looked around before going down to the living room and going to sleep....or at least trying to.
