Chapter Six

I Wish- Cher Lloyd (ft. T.I.)

I was getting dressed; it was around twelve o’clock, when he called me.

“Hello?” I said into my phone.

“Hey, I was seeing if you maybe wanted to do something today,” Jeremy replied.

I stood up straight after working on the sock that was stuck under my heel inside of my shoe and thought for a second before answering, “I was actually just about to do something. Do you want to tag along?”

“Umm, sure, I’ll be right over.”

“Alright.”

I took a look at myself in the mirror and examined my chose of clothing: A white tee-shirt, High-waisted, my favorite if you haven’t noticed, rainbow  studded shorts, white converse, a cross silver necklace, my typical diamond studs that I wear all the time, a white leather watch, and a cute ring that I bought not that long ago.

Soon enough, I saw his rental car pull up in front of my house and him emerge from inside. After knocking on the door, we both proceeded to my car.

“So what are we doing?” he asked as I began driving.

“We are going to buy some fireworks,” I said with a smile.

“Really?” he questioned enthusiastically.

“Yup. It is getting close to the Fourth of July after all,” a few minutes passed before I spoke again, “Let me ask you something.”

“Shoot.”

“Why don’t you let me just pick you up from your hotel instead of you driving here so that I can then drive us somewhere else?”

“I don’t really know. I just kind-of figured giving out where I’m staying to anyone isn’t the best idea.” He said as he talked with his hands.

I was hurt by his words for a sliver of a second.

“Next time I’ll just text you the address or I can just pick you up.”

I’m not sure if I heard trust in his voice or just the voice of someone who wanted to save money on gas.

‘Trust!’

Someone who wants to save money on gas.

“So, I see you got a new car,” he said trying to keep a conversation going.

“Actually, I’m borrowing this car from my cousin while he’s out of town, but I’m going to need to get a new one soon.”

“And why is that?” he asked.

“Because when my cousin comes back from out of town with his friends, he’s going to want his car back,” I sighed as I pulled into the parking spot.

We both exited the car and walked over to the tables and shelves full of fireworks that were placed neatly under a tent.

“Hi, Jessica!” I exclaimed as I approached the owner of the stand.

She was wearing a green spaghetti strap shirt that showed of too much cleavage for her own good and jean shorts that went mid-thigh. She wasn’t the most fit person in the world, with her rolls that clung to her shirt, but she definitely wasn’t past 200 pounds. She had her extremely greying hair in an extremely messy ponytail that hung down her back and her few wrinkles framed her face and hazel eyes. Her age was somewhere in her fifties. All in all, most men that saw her would say that she was anything but attractive, but those men didn’t know her heart. You know what they say, don’t judge a book by its cover!

“Well, hello to you too, Georgia!” She smiled at me with her misplaced and slightly yellowing teeth.

“I’ve missed you!” I responded as I leaned down slightly to hug her.

“I’ve missed you too! You come for your fireworks?”

“Sure did!” I said as Jeremy and I began to walk around.

I grabbed a small green basket and began to fill it up. This place was small, maybe three by seven yards or around there and there were hardly ever any people here, but I always was here. Every single year, this is the only place that I go to buy fireworks.

“So, I suppose that you’re coming over in a few days,” I stated to him as we looked at the small fireworks.

“Like on the Fourth of July?” he asked.

“Yeah. I mean you’re buying all of the fireworks with me.”

“Then I guess I will,” he smiled happily as he dropped something into the basket.

I smiled and blushed, I couldn’t help it; the butterflies in my stomach made me feel so ethereal, almost as if my toes weren’t even touching the ground anymore.

We talked for the whole half an hour that we were there basically just about fireworks and any conversations that sprung from that until we had found and placed in our basket everything that we had intended on purchasing. I walked us over to the counter where Jessica stood with our green basket full of fireworks. She rung and totaled everything up, and then placed them into two large brown paper bags.

“Hold on,” she held up her finger to stop us from taking our bags.

“There is always a hold on and I always tell you not to,” I sighed and smirked all at the same time.

She bends down and comes back up with two lunch bag sized paper bags that were filled with snap n pops, blooming flowers, mini fountains, and more things like that.

“Regularly ten dollars, but for you… free,” she said as she placed them into our large brown paper bags with a huge smile on her face.

“Thank you so much, and I’ll see you after Fourth of July for your sales!” I yelled as I hugged her then walked to my car.

“They’re always on sale for you!” she yelled as she waved as we got into the car.

Sorry if this is late. I'm really bad at telling when it's been a week. Okay, so Jessica is totally a real person, except I changed her name and she gives me free stuff all the time and I freaking love her <3

OMFG GUYS MY MOM IS GOING TO MURDER ME!!! I ordered some nose rings and only condition of me being able to get my nose pierced is to NEVER GET HOOPS or else she will (quote): "Rip it out of my nose then burn my body". So, if there is a singed body with a rip in their nose found any time soon, that's me.
