Chapter Nine

I can’t sleep.

I mean, honestly, I’ve had been trying to sleep for hours and now I’m being surrounded by a sea of freaking snores. I don’t know how my dad lives because my mom sounded like a whale.

‘What are you talking about? Everyone in here sounds like whales!’

It’s like a fucking whale symphony!

‘We need to get out of here!’

For once, we agree.

I slipped out of bed and grabbed my phone from the night stand. I went over to the dresser and grabbed a jacket to cover up my pajama top and I grabbed some flip-flops. I grabbed my key to the hotel room as well then slipped out of the door and shut it quietly so that I wouldn’t wake up the sleeping whales.

I wasn’t really sure where I was going when I got outside of the hotel, so I just kind-of decided to walk around aimlessly. I was glad that I had grabbed that jacket because it felt a little cold to me. I smiled as I walked. I was glad I got out of the room because I just love being outside after dark. I don’t know what it is, but I just love it. I just walked down random streets, allowing myself to get very lost when I stumbled upon a small little park. I looked around for a little and I saw a bench just a little ways away with a girl sitting on it.

I walked over to the girl and the bench and sat to the right of her in the middle of the bench. She had the same basic features as me: auburn hair and light blue eyes, but we didn’t look too awfully similar. After a few minutes of just sitting there in silence, the girl spoke up.

“Hi,” she smiled as she turned to me.

“Hello,” I smiled as I leaned back on the bench.

“Hi,” I heard another voice squeak.

I jumped just about ten feet high when I heard that voice. I turned my head to the right to see another girl with those same basic features whom I was positive was not there just a second ago.

“Umm, hello,” I nodded, still in shock.

I returned my gaze forward. We all sat there awkwardly looking off into random directions until the girl on my left spoke.

“You know, you don’t need a man. Women are independent creatures who can fend for themselves,” she said gently in a soft voice.

I was a little stunned by her random, yet quiet, outburst, but I didn’t have enough time to comment because the girl on my right was already on it.

“But everyone could use a little help now and then or at least a little company. Why can’t that be a man? People do insane things when they’re alone,” the girl on my right commented.

My mouth hung slightly open as I wanted to contribute, but I was too utterly confused by what was happening.

“I say just give your guy the boot and forget about him,” the girl on the left reiterated.

“But why be alone when you could be alone together,” the girl on my right smirked.

“What exactly is happening here?” I asked as I finally compiled myself enough to make a proper sentence.

“We’re just giving you all outlooks on your relationship with your boyfriend,” the girl on the left said.

“Oh,” I said again at a total loss for words, “Why are you guys here again?” I asked as I scrunched my eyebrows and flinched my head backwards.

“We’re waiting for you,” the girl on the right said with the sweetest smile I’ve seen in a long time.

“Oh.”

I think I need to get the fuck out of here!

‘I think your gonna die before that ever happens!’

“Well, I just couldn’t sleep so I decided to get some fresh air,” I mumbled.

“Oh,” the girl on the left laughed lightly and replicated the girl on the right’s smile, “don’t you get it? You’re asleep,” her eyes slowly closed then reopened and I could feel everything just sort-of slow down; even though, it’s not like they were moving before, “This is a dream.”

I think that’s about the time that I woke up.

Sorry, can’t think of a song.

Find one for me? :)

Can we mention the FOB reference in there?

How is it that I’m doing bad in Creative Writing, but I come here and you lovely people leave such nice comments?
