*********

'Dad' Vamu screamed in fear as she rushed to him.

'Dad get up.' she panicked seeing no movement in him.

She tried lifting him to take him to the car but her strength didn't help.

Tension took over her, numbing her thought process.

She kept shaking him while screaming his name until she realised that she must call the ambulance.

She paced back into the house and reached out her phone.

After calling the ambulance, she dialled Sammy's number wanting her to be by her side. But there was no response from her.

She knew not a single soul in that place except for the Sharma's.

She suddenly got reminded that Ro called her once and kept scrolling through her recent calls to get his number. She called him too but the result was no different.

Before she could think any further or do something, the ambulance has reached their place and Vi was taken on a stretcher while Vamika went along in the ambulance.

Through out the journey to the hospital she kept trying to reach Sammy and Ro but they just wouldn't pick up the calls.

She was so frustrated and angry with them but she blamed herself more for thinking that she could rely on them, for assuming that they'll be by her side through tough times.

She stopped calling them and shifted her focus to her dad who laid unconscious next to her on the stretcher.

They've reached the hospital and a doctor has come to check Virat.

'Did you perform CPR?' the doctor asked Vamika who shook her head negatively.

'Did you atleast check his vitals?' the doctor asked while checking Virat.

'No.' Vamika mumbled in embarrassment.

She cursed herself for focusing on someone to lift her calls instead of looking after her dad.

'Fortunately  this isn't due to any breathing or cardiac issue, so it didn't harm him even though the CPR isn't performed. But what would you have done if it was the case? Don't you have the basic first aid
sense?'

Vamika didn't have an answer, all she could do was bend her head low and curse herself.

'Is he on anti depression pills?' the doctor asked.

'Yes he is. I have a picture of them.' she said as she took out her phone and showed her the picture of pills.

'How long is he on medication?' she asked.

'I don't know for sure but he said that he's using them for fifteen years.'

'Prolonged usage causes so many side affects. And what do you mean by you don't know for sure?'

'I didn't stay with him all this time. I moved here very recently. I didn't know he was on medication until very recently '

'How can you be so careless? Anyways, the point is, it's very dangerous for him to continuing using them. He also needs treatment, both physically and mentally. Here are the therapist's details, take your dad to him.' she said as she scribbled the details before handing over the paper to Vamika.

'He would need atleast a day to regain consciousness. Will you stay here at night or will anyone else come?'

'We have no one here. I'll stay with him.' Vamika replied.

The treatment went on for a while and some medicines were prescribed.

She went back to the room after buying the medicines.

Seeing him lay motionless with all the tubes inserted was a scary site for her but she had to be strong for her father who has no one other than her.

She moved closer to him with her arms clenched around his head as she allowed her tears to seep down from her cheek onto his hair.

'Please be alright dad.' she mumbled as she planted a kiss on the top of his head.

The Sharma household:

'Shall we play pictionary?' Rits asked her bored kids who laid in a sluggish pattern on the couch.

Ro was happy hearing it. It has been a long time, to be exact she wasn't herself since they came back to India.

But seeing her try to get along with Alisha, making an effort to bond with the family again made him happy and give him 1% relief from the guilt he had thinking that he's responsible for her state.

'When the captain of the house orders something, how can we say no?' Ro asked who jumped straight to his wife from the couch and pulled her closer by her waist.

'Eww dadda, stop your public romance.' Sammy closed her eyes with her palms.

'Where's public here?' Ro asked.

'I am present right here.' Sammy said with her eyes still closed.

'Oh so you are public? I thought you were family. Ro did you exchange my baby with this girl at the time of birth?' Rits asked playfully.

'Stop it mumma, you keep complaining every single second about how I've gone entirely on him, so there's no chance I'm not his daughter'

she took an intentional pause before resuming,

'unless my mother is someone else.'

Rits quickly loosened her husband's grip around her and walked to her daughter to smack her daughter with all the cushions present on the couch.

'Stop hitting my kid, I promised her mother that I'll take proper care of her.' Ro teased Rits who in return began hitting Ro.

'Ouch, don't hit me.' Ro fake cried.

'This over dramatic husband of mine! Who the hell gets hurt by getting  hit with a cushion?' Rits asked.

Smiling at her parents antics Sammy got reminded of how lonely her Vi chachu is and how lonely her Nush chachi would definitely be feeling.

She felt like talking to Vamu, so she searched for her phone and after frantically searching for it in the living room for some solid ten minutes she got reminded that she left it in her parents room where she was, some time earlier.

She unlocked her phone and saw 20 missed calls from Vamika.

To her bad luck, before she could call back, her phone died.

She reached out for her dad's phone which was next to her's only to see 12 missed calls from 'Alisha'

Something must be terribly wrong
She thought.
