I just realized I don't know where the hospital is.

AARGH.

I asked the guards, and it seems they don't know either.
This is the moment where I wish we hired a driver, but because me and Khalifa love driving ourselves, we thought there's no need.

I eventually used Google Map, but I really had a hard time because I've never used it before.
Masha Allah, the hospital's structure looks good, like really good.
I asked the lady at the front desk for the man I was supposed to meet.

I had to wait for a while before I was asked to go in.
"Good Morning doctor, I'm Mrs. Muhammad."
"My husband directed me to you. Here are my papers."

"Khalifa's wife."
"Yes."

"Don't worry, you're family. I'm Dr. Bashir, your husband's cousin."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Hauwa."

"Sorry, I couldn't make it to you two's wedding. I had surgery to perform that day, and you really don't have to worry. You can start anytime."

"Can I start tomorrow."
"Of course, just so you know Khalifa requested you don't have night shift."
"Sly fox." He said under his breath, which made me laugh.

"Come, I'll give you a tour."
He made sure to introduce me to everybody and show me around.

"That's very nice of you, Thank you so much."
"Oh please don't bother we are family. I'll see you tomorrow." He said with a smile.

"Before eight." I added.

I stopped at the mall to get 4 pairs of sneakers. Khalifa can decide to stay wherever he wants, I don't care.

The truth is I really care.

I bought some set of new scrubs when I was coming to Abuja. I also ordered a few jersey veils the other day.

I prepared my clothes for tomorrow.
I slept in my room but felt disappointed when I woke up on my bed. For a moment, I thought Khalifa was here.

I had a shower and did my skincare routine. I settled in my scrub with black sleeves. I tied my hair so that I could pin down my veil. I prepared my bag and closed the door behind me.

"Did Khalifa come in yesterday." I asked the guards.
"No, his highness hasn't stepped into the house since he left."
"Thank you." I dismissed them before driving out.
Khalifa and I have not discussed who's car or what not, we just drive any.

"Welcome, I'm Salma. Nice to meet you." A fellow nurse said.
"Nice to meet you too."

I met with Dr. Bashir and we exchanged pleasantries. Everybody here seems nice and friendly.
There isn't much difference. I mean, I've been working for almost 2 and a half years, it's just the building that is quite confusing. I rounded up my shift around 4.

My schedule continued the next day with fewer patients than yesterday. Most of today's patients are here for consultation, not admission. We also didn't have any case of emergency.

I just had my bath and change when I saw Hanan's call. It was a video call.
"Sister, I'm so sorry it wasn't my story to tell, and you know this concerns my in-laws."

"What are you saying? I have nothing against you."
"How are you two doing? Have you two sort it out."

"We sorted it out our own way, I told him I needed time to think that's all."
"What have you come up with." She asked.

"I don't know. I honestly just miss having him around. The house is awfully quiet, but he said I should call him when I'm ready to talk." I confessed.

"I understand you and Khalifa had a fight, but don't let that lead you to give him so much space. We all know Khalifa is a heartthrob, and girls these days are the ones chasing guys, not the other way around. Remember, every relationship has ups and downs. This, too, shall pass. Take a breath and focus on communicating with him. Remember why you fell in love with him in the first place? Don't let a momentary argument cloud your judgment. You two can work this through, I believe in you two."

"You two are lucky. My marriage to Sultan was arranged, and he had this girlfriend he likes, to the extent he mistaken me with her. My heart always shatters. Look at us now. The man can't keep his arms off me even after having two children."

"Hanan, you made me so emotional. Thank you very much, I appreciate it a lot." I smiled warmly.

"What are sisters for."

"Cupcake." Sultan's hands came into the view as he wrapped his arms around Hanan.

"Oh hey Jidda."
He flashed me a smile.

"Hi, I'll leave you two love birds."
I smiled before cutting the call.
