The battle city began and things have gone worse for this dueling tournament to be turned around from an evil spirit. The Yami Marik has awoken that means that everyone is in great danger for what this devil person will do that could be terrifying. However, another person aboard name Hotaru Tomoe who is a trained duelist, secret powers, quiet/shy, a loner, met Yugi and the gang that she still doesn't feel the need to, and last is that she never had a true friend in her life which she felt depressed.

'Everyone must be having fun while i'm down here on my own just being silent as i'll ever be.' Hotaru thought sadly. 

For such a girl at her age she's been trying to be-friend anyone that would love to other than the people she had already. When Hotaru was going up to see the tournament she notice that everything was so dim that she could see the other's looking straight towards a boy who had an evil smirk, spiky blonde hair, evil purple eyes, and he had a millennium item in his hands.

"It turns out that this is the only beginning for you all to see my true form." He snickered as his gaze went towards Hotaru who stood confused.

"What are you staring at mortal?" He snapped as Hotaru bend her head down had her hands behind her back shyly.

'I never thought someone would be this entertaining for me to see. What's his name?' She blushed light pink.

That's when he walked over to her direction glaring into her soul as she hesitated for this unexpected meeting between them.

"It's inapropiate to stare young lady." He said lifting her chin as she nod nonchantly.

"I'm...sorry." She apologized as he let her go and walked passed her that lead the other's focused on Odion.

Hotaru Pov

That strange person just left me with a dirty attitude that he said in his voice of his. I've grown very curious that he seems to be haunted me. 

"Hotaru, why didn't you come up top to watch the duel?" Serenity asked as I held my head down.

"I-I never really like higher grounds and I don't attend to look down to get sick." I lied as she understood.

"I understand if your afraid of heights. It was a really interesting duel that was very confusing for us to get to know the real person." She said as my eyes widen a bit.

"What happened? Who is what thus person you speak of?" I asked her as Yami walked up telling me that guy who passed by me is name Marik and the other one was name Odion.

'They must be brothers and I have a feeling that Millennium item is a dangerous weapon for him to be holding on to.' I thought as I went back into reality.

"Hey who's up for some pizza?" Joey asked.

"Care to join us Hotaru?" Tea asked as I smiled.

"Yes. I would love to." I gleamed as she giggled.

While eating with the gang to enjoy some pizza I looked outside the window to enjoy the beautiful view of the nighttime sky. Suddenly, I felt a hand to see Duke smiling down at me and I smiled back of how he wanted to ask me any tips of winning Serenity for himself. Tristan in the other hand wanted my help also that I would have never guessed both guys wanted advice. 

Yugi and I have become great friends and we met in the battle city that we've both have a special bond together. I can sometimes feel in secure around something that I can't develop for any help and when I met his friends they do treat me like a person. Usually I never get this much attention and neither does anyone do in my school.

"I think we better call it a night you guys. Later we might have another battle soon." Yugi said as we all said goodnight. 

When I walked down the hall I could see a door open in a crack that was Odion's as I peeked inside to see no one. Or so I thought.

"What are you doing in here mortal?" I heard Marik behind startle me from behind as he pulled my shirt collar.
