Third Person View

For hours, Mero kept on flying with Princess Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity on his back. "Your highness?" Mero asked. "Red, you can just call me Twilight," the young Alicorn said. "Well Twilight, may I please take a breather?" Mero asked. "Go ahead, you've more than earned a rest," said Twilight. Mero sighed in relief as he found a place to land. "Thanks Twilight." Mero said happily as he landed in a place that he was unfamiliar with. There was a sign that stated that the eight of them were in Klugetown. As the seven of them got off, Fluttershy asked, "Mr. Red, you've been around for over hundreds of years, do you know anything about the Queen of the Hippos?"

"I think Celestia was trying to tell Luna to find the Queen of the Hippogriffs," said Mero, "the Hippogriffs were one of the many lands that the Storm King conquered, and he drove them away." Twilight pondered and said, "Hippogriffs... that actually makes more sense. Part eagle, part pony! Do you know where their land is, Mero?" The dragon sadly shook his head and said, "I wish that I did. You'd probably be better off looking for a map." Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice said, "perhaps I could be of assistance?" Mero, Spike, and The Mane 6 turned around and saw a tall and lean cat with light brown fur, a black tuft of hair, green eyes, wearing a red coat. Mero knew who it was. It was Capper, his old prison friend! "Well look what the cat dragged in. Himself!" Mero said with jovial surprise. "Hey there Red," replied Capper as he gave his old prison friend a hug. "You know this cat, Mero?" Spike asked. "Oh! Ladies and Spike, this is my old prison friend and Garrett's cellmate Capper," introduced Mero, "Capper, this is Garrett's marefriend Princess Twilight Sparkle, her assistant Spike, and her friends Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity." Twilight gave a look of surprise and asked, "wait, you were Garrett's cellmate?"

"I sure was," confirmed Capper, "I practically protected Garrett in that prison and convinced him to reconcile with his family. And I must say, he chose the right mare. 'Tis a pleasure, your highness." He kindly shook Twilight's hoof. "The pleasure is all mine Capper," said Twilight, "I'm glad to meet the cat who protected my beloved." Capper smiled and asked, "speaking of Garrett, where is that stallion?" Twilight looked down and said, "Tempest Shadow captured him and Billy. My friends and I have to go to the Queen of the Hippogriffs in order to save Equestria." Capper's smile dropped and he said, "uh-oh. That's not good. I can see why you're needing help. Luckily, I got a place with some maps that'll totally help you."

"You'd do that for us?" Pinkie asked, perking up. "Anyone that's a friend of Garrett's is a friend of mine," said Capper as he guided everyone to his crib. He then whispered to Mero, "yo Red, I'm in a bit of a rough spot right now. Got a crook named Verko who's on my tail due to some debts... Any way you could persuade him to get off my back?" Mero chuckled and asked, "getting into a little trouble, Cap?" Capper smirked and whispered, "you're only in trouble if you get caught. Still, can you do this for a friend?" Mero shrugged and whispered, "if it means you'll still help us, I can do a little persuading for Verko." He winked at the cat with his functional eye. "I'm doing this for more than just you and the girls," whispered Capper, "I'm doing this for Garrett.  He must really love that princess, eh?" Mero nodded. Much later, they were inside Capper's place. Capper looked around and found a map to the Hippogriffs. "Here you ladies go, this should help," said Capper, "though I gotta warn ya, nobody really knows where they're at."

"Thank you darling," said Rarity as she fixed his coat, making the cat smile. "The Hippogriffs are at Mount Eris, we can easily get there!" Twilight optimistically said. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and an unfamiliar voice snarled, "Hey Capper, open up, I know you're in there! You better have my money! Or else I'm going to hawk one of your nine lives!" Mero breathed in and said, "That's my cue." Capper then opened the door, and an ugly mole-rat was outside. "Here's Verko!" The ugly mole-rat smugly said. Mero then angrily roared, "YOU LISTEN HERE YOU UGLY JERK!!! YOU'VE GIVEN MY FRIEND CAPPER ENOUGH GRIEF AS IT IS!!! IF YOU EVER HARASS CAPPER EVER AGAIN, I WILL ROAST YOU ALIVE!!!! CAPICHE?!?!?!?!?!" Verko whimpered in fear, and said, "g-g-g-g-got it! S-s-s-s-sorry to bother you Capper! Totally lifting the debt! TTFN!" Verko then ran out, screaming. Capper laughed, "thanks Red."

"No problem. Man, that felt good," huffed Mero as he smirked. "Mero, is there a way you could get us to Mount Eris?" Twilight asked. "Might I suggest taking an airship? I can personally take you there," offered Capper. "That sounds wonderful," said Fluttershy. "Let me check if we've been followed," said Mero as he looked outside. Much to his horror, Mero saw that Tempest and the guards were headed straight to Capper's place. He then looked at Spike and The Mane 6, and said, "She's here! Tempest is coming!" Everyone gave a look of dread. "Oh no!" Pinkie said in horror. "The seven of you, get to the airship, now!" Mero ordered. "But Mero, you'll get captured!" Applejack protested. "I'm willing to take one for the team," assured Mero, "find the Queen of the Hippogriffs, and save Equestria. I'm gonna be okay." Capper put his paw on Mero's shoulder and said, "I'm staying with you too. We can stall them. Because once a brother..."

"Always a brother," finished Mero, "go, we'll be alright, I promise." Twilight sadly looked at Mero and Capper, and then she and her friends got out of Capper's house and into the airship. Tempest then barged right in. She eyed the two convicts and sadistically said, "Well what have we here... 82676 and 24601. Today must be my lucky day! The both of you are going to tell me where the princess and her accomplices went right now, convicts! Or else there will be deadly consequences..."
