I walked to the Sandlot with Yeah Yeah. When we got there the guys came up to me.

"Your arm. What's wrong?" Kenny asked.

"My bone was out of place. They had to pop it back in and it hurt like hell. I can't use it for six weeks." I said looking down.

"But, that makes no sense pitching can't do that to your arm." Squints said.

"No it can't." I said then sat in the dugout.

Benny sat down next to me. "So what really happened then?" He asked.

"Right. I'm gonna tell you what happened." I said scoffing.

"Really? Tell me." He said.

"No." I said.

"Why not?" He asked.

"Because I don't want to!" I snapped.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because you wouldn't believe me." I said.

"Yes I would." He said.

"Fine. I'll tell you. Your girlfriend did this to me." I said.

"No she didn't." He said.

"Told you you wouldn't believe me." I said then stood up.

"That's because your lying." He said.

"Okay. I'm lying, because I'm trying to damage your relationship." I said sarcastically.

"I think you are." Benny accused me.

"Then you don't know me." I said then walked away from The Sandlot.

Benny POV

I can't believe she just said my girlfriend did that to her. Yeah Yeah came up.

"Why is she leaving?" He asked.

"Because she told a bullshit story about how my girlfriend hurt her." I said annoyed.

"Bro, that's what happened. We were at Laurel's house yesterday she admitted it to her and my parents." He said.

"Oh shit. I screwed up didn't I?" I said.
"Yeah you did. Next time, realize who your real friends are!" Yeah Yeah said.
"Oh man. I gotta go talk to her." I said then ran to her house. Once I got there I knocked on the door.

"Hi Benny." Mrs. McClennan said.

"Hi. Can I talk to Alana?" I asked.

"Shes not home. She went out with Andrew." She said.

"Oh. Well, do you know where they went?" I asked.

"Um, I think they went to the ice cream parlor." She said.

"Oh. Okay. Bye." I said then ran to the parlor.

I saw them eating ice cream and laughing. I walked up and pulled Alana out of the booth.

"What?" She asked annoyed.

"I'm sorry. I should have believed you. Your my best friend." I said hugging her.

"Okay, first yeah you should have believed me. Second, I forgive you and third, ow!" She said.

"Oh sorry." I said.

"Its fine. Anyway, I'm here with Phillips so.." she said awkwardly.

"No, um it's fine. Go with him. I see my girlfriend waiting for me over there." Phillips said standing.

"Oohh girlfriend. Do I know her?" She asked.

"Um, I don't know." He said she looked over.

"You're dating Meredith?" She asked looking at a pretty blonde girl.

"Yeah." He said.

"Oh, well Bye Andie." She said hugging him.

"Bye Lans." He said then went over to her.

Alana POV

After Phillips left Benny and I went back to the Sandlot. The guys were staring at the bushes.

"Hey guys. What are you doing?" I asked.

"The bushes were rustling." Smalls said.

A girl popped up. "Oh great. Another one." I said.

"Hi. I'm Mary Ambers." She said.

"I'm Alana McClellan. The guy creepily staring at you is, well every guy here, but that's Benny." I said. We laughed.

Benny blushed. "Aww. Benny boy, you're blushing." I said pinching his cheeks.

"So, what are you doing in the bushes?" Squints asked.

"Watching you guys play. Alana you're really good." She said.

"I'm getting used to her." I said smiling.

"Um, anyway if you guys want me to leave I'll-" She started.

"Oh, no its cool. I'm sure the guys cold use a pretty face. Cause there's ain't that pretty." I said.

"Hey!" They all said.

"Oh. Thanks." She said.

"So, do you know how to play?" I asked.

"Yeah. My dad taught me a long time ago." She said.

"Bitchin' finally another girl that plays. Unlike, his girlfriend." I said elbowing Benny.

"Um, ex soon. Because, well, you know why." He said looking at my arm.

"Thanks. I appreciate it." I said.

"Uh huh." He said.

"What happened to your arm?" She asked.

"Oh, his girlfriend did this to me. I would have kicked her ass, but she got to me first." I said.

"Oh, well I'm sorry. I would've kicked her ass too." She said.

"Yeah. Well, anyway I better get going." I said.

"I'll walk ya." Benny said putting his arm around me.

We walked home in an uncomfortable silence. "So you like the new girl?" I asked elbowing him.

"Psh, no. Is it that obvious?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Of course it's that obvious. You're like an open book." I said.

"Oops." He said. I can't say I wasn't sad, I really like Benny, but I have to get over him.

"Well, there's my house. I've gotta go." I said.

"Okay. Later La La." He said. I walked into my house. I mean Mary is really pretty. But, again? Why do pretty girls have to show up bushes?

I walked into my room and laid down, and sighed sadly. I know, dramatic. But I just wish he liked me. But I guess I just have to move on. I'll just walk to think things over. I walked out of the house.

My thoughts were interrupted when someone called my name.

"Alana!" It said.

"Oh, hey Noah. How ya been?" I asked.

"Good. I just broke up with my girlfriend today though." He said.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I said.

"Nah. She was a bitch anyway." He said. I laughed.

"Well, wanna hang out?" I asked.

"Sure. You play hockey?" He asked.

"A little." I said. 

"Cool. Let's go play at the ice rink." He said.

"Okay." I said.

Once we were on the ice, I fell.

"Ow. You know what? I shouldn't play, because of my arm." I said.

"Well just skate then." He said.

"I don't know how." I said.

"I'll help you. Grab my hand." He said I raised my eyebrows.

He sighed, "Just trust me." He said. I grabbed his hand.

After a while I was able to skate on my own.

"I'm doing it!" I said.

"Good job Lans!" He said.

"Okay, we'll we should get going. My ma said be back by dinner." I said.

"Alright. I'll walk you." He said. We took off the skates and started home.

Once we got to my drive way I started to say goodbye.

"So I'll see ya later." I said.

"Well, I was wondering. If you wanna go out with me?" He asked. I mean, he was cute, and fun. What's the harm?

"I'd love to." I said. Then kissed him on the cheek and went inside.
