Alana

Me and the Sandlot guys were in a lot while Ham was saying something no one could understand.

"What?" We all said. He tried it again.

"What?" We repeated. He took that thing out of his mouth.

"I'm the Great Bambino!" He said.

"Oooohhhhh." We said. Then I saw Benny come up with a new kid.

"Hey guys, this is Scotty Smalls and he's gonna play with us." Benny said.

I raised my eyebrow. This guy didn't look much like a baseball player, but then again neither do I.

"This is Hamilton Porter, we call him Ham." Benny said Ham spit.

Michael Squints Palledorous
*spit*

Alan Yeah Yeah McClennen

Alana McClennen
*no spit*

Timmy and Tommy Timmons

Kenny DeNuez

"You guys are gross." I said.

"Thank you." Squints said. I rolled my eyes and we ran to The Sandlot.

The guys ran ahead of Smalls, but I decided to talk to him.

"Hi." I said.

"Hello." He said.

"What's with the hat?" I asked.

"Oh. it was the only one I had." He said.

"Cause he's and L7 weenie!" I heard Squints say. Smalls looked down.

"Dont listen to em. He's not the smartest person." I said. Smalls smiled.

I could hear Benny telling everybody off. He's so sweet.

"Square up you block heads!" Benny said. I went to the pitchers mound.

First to bat was Benny. I did my fast pitch. He hit it. Smalls held out his arm, but the ball went past him and he fell. Everyone laughed except Benny and I.

He got the ball out of the bush. Instead of throwing it to me he ran up and put it in my glove.

I gave Benny a, 'Go help him' look. He got the message and ran up to Smalls.

After a couple minutes he came back. I pitched again. He hit it. Again. But this time Smalls caught it. We started cheering.

Then it was Hams turn. I threw my hard ball. He hit it. Over the fence.

"Ham!" I yelled. He started running the bases while we all chased him and threw the our gloves at him.

Then I saw Smalls climbing the fence.

"No!" I yelled and ran after him. The boys soon followed. Benny grabbed him by the waist and pulled him off the fence.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I was getting the ball." He said.

"You can't! The Beast is there!" Ham said.

"Who's that?" Smalls asked.

"Camp out." We all said.

Yeah Yeah and I left the house to get to the tree house.

I climbed up the branches and went in through the window.

"Hey." I said.

"Hey." They said.

"Story time." I said sitting down next to Benny.

"Lans your next to Benny." Squints said.

"Okay." I said.

Ham told the bullshit story about the beast and Mr. Mertle being mean. Which I knew wasn't true.

"Bull." I said.

"What? No it's not." Yeah Yeah said.

"Yes it is. He's a guard dog. It's his job. He's not a murderer ya know?" I said.

"Oh, whatever you've heard the beast. That's all I can do to save you." Ham said.

"I'll protect you." Squints said going in for a hug.

"Yeah right." I said holding my hand out in front of me to stop him.

"Did you forget about Wendy Peffercorn?" Yeah Yeah said mockingly.

"Shut it Yeah Yeah." He said. I laughed. Squints is so delusional.

We all eventually fell asleep after about three hours of telling stories.

I woke up the next morning and snuck out of the tree house. I was walking back home when one if my friends stopped me.

"Lans. We have got to be part of the baseball team." She said.

"What?" I asked.

"A softball team has openings and we've gotta try." Bailey said.

"Um, no I actually have my friends at the Sandlot." I told her.

"Yeah, but they don't compete. Unless Phillips challenges them." She said muttering the last part.

"Well, I can't those guys are practically my brothers." I told her.

"Fine. I'll get Molly to try with me." She grumbled. I smiled.

"Well I gotta get going Bales. See ya later." I told her.

"Later." She said as we walked away from each other.

I

was at The Diner again with Andrew.

"Hey, remember when you used to hate me when you were six?" He asked. I started laughing.

"Yeah. I threw my coke in your face, because you stained my favorite pink dress." I said smiling.

"Oh yeah. I did because I liked you." He said.

I raised my eyebrows. "Really? Because you stained like all my dresses." I said.

He laughed, "Yeah. But all feelings have changed since then. Your my best friend." He said. I blushed.

"Your my best friend too." I said, which wasn't I lie I really was getting close to Phillips. Just then Benny came in. He stormed out when he saw me.

"If you'll excuse me. I'll be back in five minutes." I said then ran out the door.

"Benny! Wait!" I yelled.

"What?" He said angrily.

"Why are you so mad?" I asked.

"Hmm oh I don't know, maybe because your dating the enemy!" He said. I gasped.

"I'm not dating him! He's my best friend that would be creepy." I said.

"So you're not dating?" He asked.

"Yes! For the love of all that is holy. I'm not dating him!" I yelled.

"Oh. Well, then sorry for yelling." He said.

"I'm not." I said smiling.

"Whatever Lans. I'm going home. See ya." He said smiling. I knew he'd gotten over it, but if he told the team they probably wouldn't.

After Phillips and I finished we walked home. "Thanks for walking me home." I said.

"Any time Lans." He said.

"Well, I'll see ya later." I said.

"Later." He said Then he walked off. I walked into my house.
