Alana

Phase one of: Get rid of the girl.

'Accidentally have baseballs come close to hitting her.' They aren't actually gonna hit her. I mean, come on I'm not that mean.

"Alright. I'm up to bat." Squints said. He winked at me. I winked back. The start of Phase one.

Laurel was in the dugout. Benny noticed our wink, but ignored it. Kenny pitched and, Oh No! It went straight to the dugout and came so close to Laurel. She screamed and ran to Benny.

"It's fine babe. Its just a baseball." He said hugging her.

"Babe?!" We all said. I clenched my jaw.

"Oh, yeah. Guys. I'm going steady with Laurel." He said. Squints dropped his bat.

"Yo-Your, what?" I asked.

"He's going out with me." Laurel said smirking. Just like she had... Alana! Stop. That's in the past now. Don't even think about it!

"Um, so anyway. Let's get back to the game." Ham said trying to make things less awkward.

"Actually, I'm gonna borrow Lana, here. Let's have a girl chat." She said grabbing my wrist and dragging me away.

"What?" I asked yanking my wrist away. Her touching me made me want to run away, but I didn't.

"You. Stay away from my boyfriend." She said. I raised my eyebrow.

"Your boyfriend. Is my best friend. And I'll hang out with him if I want to." I said. She stopped smiling and grabbed my arm. She started pushing down on it.

"Ow!" I fell to the ground gripping my arm.

"You won't tell anyone I did this. Or else worse things will happen. La La land." She said. I shivered.

"Lans!" Yeah Yeah said.

The guys ran up to me. All except Benny. He went to Laurel.

"Are you okay?" Timmy asked.

"Are you okay?" Repeat.

"Her pitching arm!" Ham exclaimed.

"Guys. I'm fine. I guess I just threw wrong earlier." I said getting up.

"Are you okay to pitch?" Kenny asked.

"Yeah, I think so." I said. I walked to pitchers mound.

I grabbed the ball. I tried to throw.

"Ow Ow ow!" I said.

"It's okay. Put the ball down." Kenny said.

"No! I can do this." I said. I took a deep breath.

"Ow! Okay, maybe I can't. I'm just gonna go sit down." I said.

I went the dugout and sat as far away as I could from Laurel.

My arm was starting to bruise really badly. At least I can move it. How did she know how to do that? After practice I started to walk home.

Benny ran after me. "Is your arm okay?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "As if you care." I said covering my arm.

"Of course I care." He said trying to see. I jerked my arm away. "Ow." I said.

"If you cared you would have come over to me while I was lying on the ground." I said.

"Well I-" he said.

"You went over to your new Girlfriend and talked to her like I was the one who hurt her." I snapped then realized what I said.

"She- She hurt you." He said.

"No! No she didn't. I pitched wrong. That's it. Anyway, this is my house. So leave. Bye." I said Coldly.

He stood there looking hurt. I don't care though, he made his choice.

I walked in. My arm was throbbing. It was turning purple, and going numb. What was happening?

"Hi mom." I said.

"Hey. Help we carry this." She said gesturing to a heavy box. That's gonna kill my arm.

"Okay." I said. We grabbed the box.

"Ow!" I said.

"What?" She asked.

"Nothing I just- ow!" I said again. She looked at my purple arm.

"Oh my Lord! We've gotta get you to the doctors." She said.

When we walked outside I saw Yeah Yeah coming home.

"Alan, sweetie! Get in the car. We've got to take Alana to the doctor." She said. Alan ran up and got into the car.

Once we got there the doctor said my bone was out of place. It makes no sense. How could she have done that?

"How did you do this?" Dr. Michael's asked.

"Um, I- uh pitched wrong." I said.

"That wouldn't happen if you just pitched a baseball. What really happened?" She asked. (A/N That's right her doctors a girl!)

"Fine. Someone pushed down and hit my arm." I said.

"What?!" Mom and Alan said.

"I bet it was Laurel!" Alan said looking infuriated.

"Who's Laurel?" Ma asked.

"Benny's new Girlfriend." I said.

"Well, why is she hurting you?" She asked.

"Cause she told me to stay away from him and I said no he's my best friend. Then she did this." I said gesturing to my arm.

"What? Does Benny know that?" Alan asked.

"No." I said.

"Well, I'll need to set the bone, you'll need a sling for your arm. You won't be able to use it for six weeks." The doctor interjected.

"Ugh. Really?" I sighed.

"Sorry kid." She said handing the sling.

"Mhm." I said.

"Alright this might hurt a bit." She said then popped my bone into place.

"Ow!" I yelled.

"I'm almost done." She said then it popped again.

"Ow!" I yelled again.

"Alright. I'm done." She said.

"Thank you Dr. Michaels." I said then put my sling on.

After we left I saw dad in the living room.

"Hi dad." I said.

"What happened to your arm?" He asked.

"Some little brat pushed it out of place." Mom said scowling.

"What? Who was it?" Dad asked standing up.

"Some girl named Laurel. What's her last name Alana?" Ma asked.

"Stevens." I said.

"Why?" He asked.

"Cause I said I'm still gonna hang with Benny." I said. He looked confused.

"Shes dating him." I said.

"Oh. Well, why weren't you there to stop her Alan?" He asked.

"I didn't even know that happened. Laurel said they were gonna talk. I didn't think she would cripple her!" Alan said.

"Dad, don't blame Alan." I said.

"You're right. Where's Laurels house? I'm gonna talk to her parents." Dad said.

"I'll come too." Mom said.

"Its the first one on NewBerry lane." I said.

"Okay. Get in the car. We're going there." Dad said. We walked and got into the car.

Once we got to her house my dad knocked on the door. A middle aged blonde women answered.

"Hello. Who are you?" She asked kindly.

"I'm Pete McClennan and this is Alana. I need to talk to you and your husband about your daughter Laurel." Dad said.

She furrowed her eyebrows. "Okay. Please, come in." She said. We walked in and she told us to sit down.

Once her husband came in we started.
"What's wrong?" Mr. Stevens said.

"Well, it seems that your daughter hurt mine." Mom said. Her parents looked shocked.

"What? That can't be right." Mrs. Stevens.

"It is. She has a boyfriend. She told me to stay away from him. He's my best friend, so I said no. She pushed my arm down and hit me. That's why it's in the sling. I can't use it for six weeks." I said annoyed.

"That's not like Laurel at all. I'm gonna call her down." Mr. Stevens said.

Once Laurel saw me she scowled.

"Yes?" She asked.

"Did you hurt this girl?" Her dad asked.

"No." She said.

"What? Why would my daughter make that up. She actually tried to cover it up and said she pitched wrong. The doctor said it couldn't be that. So she did hurt her." My mom said. I was proud of her for standing up for me.

"Laurel. Tell the truth." Her mom said.

"Fine. Yes I did, but she said she would still hang out with my boyfriend!" Laurel said.

"That's not a good reason to hurt someone! Go to your room you're grounded for a month." Her dad said.

"But-" She started.

"But nothing. Go to your room" Mr. Stevens said sternly.

"Watch your back Alana." Laurel whispered. Alan heard.

"Um, what did you say to my sister?" He asked.

"Nothing." Laurel said scared. I smiled and hugged my brother, well tried to hug him.

"I'm so sorry for her. I'll pay for her doctors bill." Her dad said.

"Oh no. That's fine." My mom said.

"No please. I insist take the money. I want to make things right." He said.

"Oh. Okay." Mom said giving in, and taking the money.

"Well, we better get going." Dad said.

"Okay. Again I'm sorry." Mrs. Stevens said.

"Good bye." I said.

"Good bye Alana." Mrs. Stevens said then I got back in the car.

Once we got home we had dinner. Then I took a shower, brushed my teeth and fell into an uncomfortable sleep.
