Rewrite The Stars (fluff)

I just watched "The Greatest Showman" and yeah, I know I'm a bit late but I'm not really into watching films that's why. The movie was really great and the soundtrack was even better. My favorite is "A Million Dreams" but since "Rewrite The Stars" (also a good one, I might add) has a story and of course, it gave me an idea to another one shot. Hope you like this guys.

Jade's POV

I am nothing but a simple woman. I grew up in just an average family. We only have enough for food but I still managed my way to studying because of my work.

When my parents got separated, my life became even harder. My mother became sickly, thus, I need to work 3 times harder to make enough money for her hospital bills, medicines, for our food and rent.

It was really a tough time but I wouldn't leave my mother.

I am a senior student in Liberty High. I am studying in the morning and working my shifts in the local pub and restaurant place "Rosie's Diner" as a waitress during the evening. However, during Saturdays and Sundays, I work in a bookstore and library and whenever there are no classes in the morning, I babysit.

This is not the life that I dreamed of but I wouldn't have it any other way. At least, I know that my parents love me.

Although they are separated, my father still visits me and his life may be hard too but he still gives us the support that he can while my mother is the most caring and sweetest person in the world. She makes sure that I still have time to rest.

I am doing all that I can to make our lives better and I won't give up.

Today is just an ordinary day in the life of Jade Amelia Thirlwall. I am in Liberty High right now and I am currently getting my books in my locker when I felt someone's presence beside me.

I expected it to be Leigh-Anne since she's really the only person I talk with and whom I'm really close with. I may have other friends but she's the only one that understands me.

But to my luck, it wasn't her.

Here we go again...

"Hey, Jade. I-I brough you um... breakfast.", she stuttered and she lifted the paper bag of what I think is sandwich from one of the most prestigious and popular Italian cuisine restaurant here in our place.

I don't want to be rude to anyone and most especially now that me and my family needs any help that we can get to make our lives even a bit better but I don't want to use her.

Actually, I've got a crush on her ever since middle school and my feelings for her still hasn't changed one bit and when she admitted that she wants me too just as much as I like her, I can't help but to feel so damn happy..., but of course the world is unfair.

She's Perrie Louise Edwards. Daughter of the most powerful and rich man in London, Alexander Edwards who owns couple of companies both in our place and overseas.

She's been courting me for almost a year now but I'm still keeping my cold shoulder on her.

Yes, I'm playing hard to get but no, this is not just playing and this is not intentional.

I know her family. They are those rich type of people who tends to put their power and money in their heads. They don't treat people good. They degrade them. Although Perrie is different, I just knew that even if we are a couple, they won't approve of it because of my social class and status and I'm keeping myself from falling even harder for her so that I won't just end up being hurt.

"I-It's okay if you don't want it.", she said again and put the paper bag down.

My reverie was cut short when I realized that she might have been waiting for my response all this time and I was too caught up with my thoughts.

"T-Thank you, Perrie. I'll have it.", I said and smiled at her.

There's nothing wrong with giving her the motive, right? But I'm not keeping my hopes up.

After what I said, she smiled sweetly and handed me the paper bag which I gladly accepted.

"J-Jade, I'm wondering if you... You know... Want to hang out after school maybe?", she asked nervously. I giggle at her.

"I'd really like that Perrie but... You know my situation.", I replied and looked down.

"Oh, right. Then I'll just hang out in the local resto that you're working on so that I can still spend time with you.", she suggested.

Most people should have known her. After all, she's the daughter of THE Alexander Edwards. My manager should know her as well so maybe having her in the pub, would keep us all busy since we all want to satisfy her and have the Edwards' recommendation.

"You really don't have to do that just for me, Perrie.", I said, slightly shy.

"No problem at all. Besides, I want to see you more often. If that's what it takes then I'll taste every single thing on the menu just to be with you.", she replied, obviously flirting in which she didn't fail. A blush creeped onto my face and I looked away from her.

The bell rang soom after thay and just when I though that she's leaving me, she still spoke.

"I'll walk you to class?", she asked timidly and I just nodded at her in response.

I have Biology class right now and she has English at the same time and I think that both our classrooms are just located in the same hall so I don't think it will be a struggle for her if she will still drops me by my classroom.

When we reached my room, I turned to face her.

"Goodbye then? I'll see you after school in your work though.", she said.

"Okay. Thanks again, Perrie.", I replied and I leaned into her to plant a kiss on her cheek. The kiss only lasted for a second or two and when I leaned back again, her cheeks are crimson red. She's adorable.

I smiled at her once more, waved and then turned my heel to attend the class yet my mind is only lingering on how my morning started so good.

Perrie's POV

After school...

I am now on my way to Rosie's Diner to catch Jade while she's working. Her boss would have recognized me because she actually have some business stuffs with my father.

I arrived there just within 20 minutes of car ride. The place wasn't that crowded tonight so I guess I'll have enough time to chat with Jade or just talk her out with her boss since she knows me as well.

I entered the place and it felt so awkward and in slow motion. I heard some gasps most especially from the waiters. They aren't expecting me, I guess.

Miss Rosie, obviously the owner, was the one who greeted me. This is not a usual welcome in the place, is it?

"Good evening, Miss Edwards. It's a pleasure seeing you here.", she greeted me politely.

"Yeah, I want to actually talk to you before I have supper. Would you spare me some time?", I asked and fidgeted with my fingers.

"Sure, Miss.", she replied and headed me to a private room.

I spotted Jade just by the counter and I sent her a wink in which she blushed.

"What do we owe this visit to, Miss Edwards?", Rosie asked me once we were the only ones in the room.

"One of your waitresses, Jade Thirlwall, can I have her for the night?", I asked in reply.

"But she is in her shift now, I don't want her fooling around with the rich man's daughter.", Rosie argued.

"Oh, would you want this to reach my father? He can bring this resto down in a second, I might add.", I challenges, this is quite difficult. I'm not used to threatening people because of my social status but I think this is the right time to do just that.

"And Rosie, I promise my father will make this place the most popular landmark in our town. Wouldn't you want that? You'll be much more successful just by letting me have Jade.", I said again, raising my eyebrows. I already know that this will sold her out since the stakes are high.

"Okay, I'll let her come with you.", she sighed in defeat.

"Thank you so much, Rosie. You'll get what you want too. And oh, please don't deduct even a cent in her pay.", I said again before I went out the room and headed to Jade.

"Hey, beautiful.", I flirted once I reached her.

"Hi, Perrie.", she greeted me back.

"Come on Jade, have dinner with me.", I said.

"Perrie, I'm in work.", she said, denying my offer.

"Not anymore. I've talked with Rosie and I asked her if I can have you with me for tonight and she said yes.", I replied proudly.

"Wouldn't I be in trouble?", she asked timidly.

"Not at all, I know how this works.", I said and she removed her apron and headed out the counter with me.

When we are finally sitting, a waiter went to our table and gave us the menu. We both ordered steak and fries, champagne and panacotta. Jade was hesitant at first but I assured her that she doesn't need to be shy when it comes to me.

The night went so smooth. We are so deep in conversation and there are times that I compliment her in which she sends back to me. But when we thought that the night was going well, everything comes crashing down.

"Good evening, Mr. Edwards! It's a pleasure to have you here.", I heard Rosie's voice call out.

Oh my goodness.

"Good evening, Rosie. Well, my daughter, Perrie told me that she'll be having dinner here tonight and stay for a bit so I thought, why not bring my wife here too so we can all have dinner as a family?", my dad explained.

I looked at Jade's direction and she was just shocked as I am.

I should've just lied to them.

"Yes, yes. Your daughter is here.", Rosie said and I see them walking to out direction.

I composed myself and I can see Jade do the same. I held her hand under the table and I felt it shake and begin to get cold.

"I'm here, Jade, okay?", I said to her and she gave me a half-hearted smile while she nodded.

Rosie and my parents arrived at our table in 2 minutes.

"Hello there, Mom, Dad.", I greeted them.

"Darling... Who is this girl?", my mother said.

"Mother, Father, this is Jade. Jade, my parents.", I introduced them.

"Good evening, Sir, Ma'am.", Jade greeted them shyly and looked down after.

"Are you really fond of Rosie's Diner that's why you're wearing one of their shirts or are you just in the mood to fool with my daughter on a date?", my Dad said directy to Jade.

Shit. I need to defend her.

"Dad.", I said sternly.

"I was just asking, Perrie.", he defended.

"Jade's actually working for me. Well, your daughter worked her way to me so she can have her for the night on a date.", Rosie interrupted, answering my father's question.

I looked at Jade and she is shifting uncomfortably in the seat. Our eyes met and she gulped. Her eyes are slightly turning crystal, like a mirror and I know that tears are threatening to fall from those lovely eyes.

"Goodness Perrie. Don't you have anything better to do than just to play with girls --- waitresses to be exact?", my Mom blurted out.

I can feel myself blaring with anger.

"Yes, Perrie. Where's that Camila Cabello or Ariana Grande you've been dating? They are the girls I like for you. You are an Edwards, after all.", my Father added.

"Mom, Dad, with all due respect. I like Jade and I don't give a damn about the social status. I know she's the one.", I argued.

"Darling, you'll find someone better, richer, lovelier. Don't invest too much of your time and money on a gold digger----", my mother's sentence was cut short when Jade stood up and ran away.

My hands that once held hers felt cold now.

I stood up and was about to follow her but just before speaking more words to my parents.

"If being an Edwards means being away from the person I love, then I don't want to be one anymore. Excuse me but I'll have to follow her.", I said and ran towards the direction where Jade went.

I can hear them calling out my name still but I did not faltered, I continued running til I found Jade sitting by the stairs in the back of Rosie's, where the employees rest. With the sniffs and sobs, I know that she's crying.

I sat beside her and was about to touch her when she flinched.

"Don't, Perrie. It's okay.", she said, almost a whisper, between her sobs.

"It's not okay. I'm sorry, Jade.", I said.

She just cried even more.

"They can't dictate us. I'll never stop loving you.", I stated firmly when she didn't responded.

She looked at me and her once brown eyes are now bloodshot from the crying.

"No. Stop it, Perrie. I won't keep my hopes held high anymore. We can't.", she contradicted my sentence.

"They don't know a thing. We can make it through, Jade. I know it. We---"

"Can't you see it, Perrie? They are right. I am a nobody. You --- You are who everyone wants to be. You are perfect and I-I can't be with you. I would've ruined you... And your life. Let's just stop this. It'll be for the best.", Jade said. My hope faltered but I shouldn't give up.

"We will rewrite the stars. I know you are made to be mine, Jade. Nothing can keep us apart and you'd be the one I was meant to find. No one can say what we get to be. We can rewrite the stars.", I said, fighting for this.

"We can't Perrie.", she just said simply and stood up.

I stood up too so that I can be leveled with her. I can see the tears still falling, her lips trembling and her eyebrows quivering.

She stared straightly into my eyes and her hand caressed my cheeks.

"You know I want you, it's not a secret I try to hide. But I can't have you. We're bound to break and my hands are tied."

After that, her hands left my cheeks and she walked away.

I was dumbfounded and I didn't ran to chase her.

You're wrong Jade. They are wrong. Because we can rewrite the stars.

Jade's POV

Perrie and I haven't had any contact in the past 3 weeks.

Sure, we bump in the halls, catch each other's gazes but nnothing more.

I've been ignoring her as well. She still tries to talk to me though but I don't entertain her.

I don't want to complicate things for us.

I am now walking towards my locker and when I got there, I saw a strange note in it.

Miss Jade Thirlwall,

This letter is to inform you that you are needed to be in the gazebo near Rosie's Diner later this evening at 7 pm. Thank you.

Anonymous.

Seriously, anonymous? What is it for?

I headed to class, my mind clouding with reasons why and who is the letter from.

Later that night...

I arrived in the gazebo at 6:55 pm. I am wearing an off shoulder white dress. It's not that fancy but since I don't have any idea what the occassion is and it will be held in the famous gazebo, I wore this.

When I entered the place, my jaw instantly dropped to the floor.

The lights opened and the place was full of roses scattered everywhere. Balloons are all around the place as well but what caught my eyes the most is the woman standing in the center of the gazebo, in front of a microphone.

Her blonde hair are flowing freely and I can see her composing herself.

Soft music started playing and I looked at her, seeing her do the same, she smiled.

"Jade... I know this is unexpected but... I want you to know that no matter what anyone says or thinks about us, I'll never stop loving you. You are my dream, Jade. Meeting you is the best thing that ever happened to me. You are my angel, my geatest downfall."

My heart fluttered with her words and I can feel tears springing to my eyes again but this time, it was because of happiness and love.

"Jade, will you give me the chance to prove to you how much I love you? I will adore you in every second of my life. I will fight for you with every ounce of blood that is left in my veins. I will be your shield. I will be your savior, your knight in shining armor. I will keep you safe. I'll make you happy. I'll do everything for you. I will love you til the end of time."

With her sweet words, I feel the walls in my heart lowering itselves for hwr to enter. I will let her love me now.

She walked and stepped closer to me and when she is only an inch away from me, she spoke again.

"Jade Amelia Badwi Thirlwall, willyou rewrite the stars with me? Will you be my girlfriend, my world, my everything?", she asked sweetly.

I didn't answer her question because I can't think of any word to reply to her right now. I told her my answer by acting upon it.

I leaned in and kissed her soft lips.

It was an innocent and sincere kiss. Pure love and passion is drowning into it. I poured myself into her and she did the same.

When air became an issue and we pulled away, our foreheads touched.

"It's a yes then, I guess?", she asked and I giggled. I pecked her lips once more to confirm myself.

She pulled away from me and pecked my nose.

"We'll change the world to be ours, my darling."

Those were her last words before our lips met once more and sparks flew to the sky.

A/N: MERRY CHRISTMAS, LOVES! πŸ’œ I HOPE U ALL HAD A GOOD ONE! THIS IS ALL FOR UUU!
