Cold Hard Stone Part 3

"Kugh..."

"It's alright!, we're alive!"

"Ha...." Thorin leaned against the wall to catch his breath.

Fili who just snapped out of him mini daze of living that fall. He began to rollover, only to have his face go pale. My form just lay there face down, not moving. But course he didn't know that. While the rest of Thorin's company came flooding in. Fili began to panic. Afraid that he squished me, or was his fault of slamming me against the side of the wall. Because the way I was face down, and really close up to the wall, really seemed like he had.

"Where's Bilbo, where's the hobbit!?" Panicked Bofur.

My eyes snapping open wide, as I shot up off the ground, scaring the life out of Fili.

"N-no Bilbo!!" I called, pushing my way through. While Fili called from behind me, Ignoring him I ran to where the hobbit was. Clinging onto the side of the cliff.

"Uh.uhhh!" Poor Bilbo whimpered, his dark blue eyes wide.

"Bilbo! Grab my hand!" I lay myself flat against the ground. The rain finally gave up.

Bofur, also called out to the hobbit. Seeing who he would accept help from instead.

"_____...!" The distant voices of the brother's called out. They were trapped not able to reach me.

"Bilbo!p-please!" ' I owe him this much.' He was always so kind to me.

Swallowing I leaned down even farther. My body being longer than anyone else's here. I was not facing vertically down. My heart pounding hard inside of my chest.

"C-come!" My other hand gripped the side of the cliff.

Nodding he reached out to my hand. *grip!* Only to have both of us slip.

*Fwt!*

"W-wah..!!" I winced. Having my knee get slammed against the ground. "Try again!!!" I called trying to slide the thought of me falling over the side of the cliff. Everyone looked at me shocked.

When suddenly on the other side of me a arm came flying out, a strong one. 'T-Thorin!' He basically throwing himself off the other side, grabbing Bilbo's other hand, while some dwarves held their leader from falling off as well.

Seeing how he was ready we both began to pull up. While the other's held down my legs, keeping me from slipping.

"Ha ngh!!" I pulled up Bilbo, having him crawl right over my form, and up right over my legs landing on the ground safely.

*creak!*

"NO!" I reached out. Suddenly seeing Thorin slip past my eyes. Grasping his arm firmly, I felt both of us slide down.

"AH!" *THUD!* I crashed myself off the side of the cliff. Only to have a strong force holding the rest of my legs back below my knees.

"_______!!" Fili, and Kili's voice cried out, I looked straight down at Thorin's deep blue eyes. He looked back up at me with thanks, but also concern, as his weight began hurting my arms.

I grit my teeth , as his face went slightly pale. Ashamed for having me, a women holding him up with a painful look on my face.

"J-just a little more..." I whispered. As we slowly began to get pulled up, but I was fading.

"Mh!" Thorin's grip got tighter on my wrists, trying to keep me conscious.

"NNNGHAH!" With one last pull both of us get pulled back up. Me rolling across the ground bit, ended face down, near the form of a certain blonde.

Thorin's concerned eyes looking up at me as he stood, thankfully his nephew was starting to help.

"He's been lost, ever since he left home."

Was the last word I heard from Thorin, as I felt myself go blank.

"Oh no...." Fili reaching carefully below my stomach, starting gently rolling me over to face up, trying to not knock me against something. "____....!" His words came out pained, and sad. Even Kili could hear this, making the young prince walk to his brother's side, but was blocked by the others. His eyes locked onto my form, as Fili rolled me over.

"You're alright, right?" He called to me. But my eyes didn't open, and it worried him even more. "!!" Biting his lip, he gently set his golden locks onto my chest, searching for a heartbeat. *T-hump thumpthump*

To his shock, my heart was racing healthy, and strong. 'T-then what's wrong??!' He blinked his baby blue eyes, as I lay there. There was no visible marks, cuts on me from what he could see, that my hair didn't hide. I was just felt frozen to the touch, and drenched.

"C-come on, wake up....p-please."

'F-...Fili.....' I could here him through my fuzzy mind. I was just soo tired...

'I-i'm alright....I swear..' To his shock, Kili came trotting over his brother finally being able to get through the mob. "What's the matter?" Kili hated seeing his brother so down. Feeling as if he going do his duty in guarding me. When it really wasn't a duty at all.

"I'm not sure..., her heart is being greatly. Yet her eyes won't open...." The brunette kneeled down next to me. Searching as well. " I have a feeling she can hear us. Just... to tired to move." Breathed Kili.

"Kili.., while I help Bombur, bring ____ in for me." He didn't even need to ask his little brother. With ease, Kili began to lift me up, and carried me inside. While Thorin watched close by. Feeling like he should go asses the problem himself.

'G-guys.. I'm fine...! J-just stop...swaying.....me..' It was making me feel sick. The shaking, and rocking from earlier had played with my head, and stomach. Making me feel nauseous, all I wanted was to get set down. 'C-come on. more arm! move!' I told myself. I had to tell them I was alright, and make the swaying stop.

Mustering up all my energy. I lunged my arm out, grasping Kili's sleeve. My voice cracking as I spoke. "K-Kili.....put me down,......ngstop...the swaying.... Understanding the message, the brunette stopped right next to a wall. Wide enough for all three of us to fit. His eyes locked onto mine as he set me down.

*Clak..!* "Alright, let's get a fire started."

"No, no fires here. Get some rest, we leave on the first light." Ordered Thorin, as he turned to face my form with Kili, who was setting me down quietly.

It stung his heart, seeing Kili look at me with sad innocent eyes, as if I have passed, but didn't. He made his way over to his nephew. Peering down at the two of us. "What's...wrong with her?" His low voice question. He didn't know that I could hear his voice too.

Kili didn't look up at his Uncle at first, he hated the fact there couldn't be a fire, when it was one of those things that I needed.

"I'm not really sure. However, she is resting, heart beating fast, just....cold..."

"......I see.....* He set a hand on his nephew's shoulder* If...you need something....just ask..." With that he pulled back. "Get some rest." His voice sounding stern again.

"Here, we need to warm her up...she is soaked to the bone." Fili came rolling out his brother's blanket, sensing earlier that I liked Kili better than himself. Which wasn't all that true. But his brother's personality matched better with my free spirit, and childish means, much more than his.

Setting me on the dark blue blanket, with royal designs on it. The two watched me as I slept still. Not wanting to look away in case I needed assistance.

"Can't we do something?" Whispered Kili. Fili thought for a moment. "If she is ill....water....could help..."

"....mh......"

"!!" Suddenly the two snapped their eyes back at me. To their shock my eyes began to open up.

As my blurry vision came to be, I could see two figures looking back down at me. They didn't look sad, but relieved. "....ngh.....uh....so we made it." I whispered.

Kili right away nodding, as he gently touched my arm. "Yes, of course." His voice was soft, trying to not scare me. "That's great.......w-wait....w-where...." I rolled my eyes to the side. finding myself in a dark cave, with many sleeping dwarves around. Snoring, but no bugs flew around this time.

Looking down to my side, I realized the deep blue blanket of Kili's, with those pretty designs on them. "How are you feeling?" Questioned Fili, as his beard beads swayed a bit on his face. I blinked my tired eyes again, my vision being unclear still, but I didn't want to worry them more.

I must've hit my head...a bit. As I could feel the pounding still come from on top of my head from below my hair.

"I...feel a little sick........is this cave swaying still?" I felt stupid asking, but I wanted to know. Feeling a chill hit my spine as the two shook their head in sadness. "I..I'm sorry...it's not......" The blonde spoke calmly. While Kili tried to swallow his tears. ".....you must of hit yourself after that fall."

"I just feel a little nauseous, but i'll be fine." Kili held the water up to me, my weak hand ready to grasp the contained, only to miss in in surprise."!!"

'stupid vision!' I hissed. The looked on their faces just got worse, seeing this Kili freezing in place with the water in his grip. I suddenly sit up forward grasping it harder, but only to fall back, ready crash myself off the ground.

But it never came. A soft thump came instead. Fili held out his arm in time, holding me up. "You can drink now." He smile softly at me. While Kili snapped out of his shocked stare. Their hearts slowly warming up to my breathing moving, form once again.

"Thanks."

"You're very welcome."

I was held there in place. The world began to settle down around me little by little. "Do you still feel dizzy?" Questioned Kili. "No, not really." Well that's great." Fili nods in agreement, as he stayed still holding me in place as I sipped the water. Due to our rocky fall, we have lost all our food. The brother's felt ashamed for not being able to save one piece of bread for me.

Kili sat across from me watching me closely in case I needed something. That was when he tilted his head to the side, giving me a interesting look. "What's this....?" Suddenly he leaned forward. Swiftly sliding my hair to the side on my face. Only to relieve a small little...crimson little lump. "Your wounded....." His voiced trailed off, as he accidentally touched the cut. Making me flinch back, slamming Fili back a bit.

"..ngh..!" Dropping his hand with concern, and apology. " ..oh...I forgot that was there....."

The two brother's just gave me a strange look. 'How did she forget?'

"It's nothing don't worry about it, a small graze that's all." I tried to keep Kili from giving me that intense gaze, that even his brother from behind my back was doing. It made me feel off.

Crinkling his nose at this, the brunette spoke once again. "Not only that,...you seem to have a slight fever."

"Fever you say? that isn't't good. Must of been the rain, and cold." I could feel myself suddenly get move back. "!!!" My eyes widen, seeing my world so upside down. "W-...wahh....!"

"Shh, it's fine. We can handle this. You just rest. "Kili looked down at me with a grin. "I'm...worried." I gave him a blank face. This made Kili look at me hurt, trying to figure out why I refused their help.

"What my brother means. Is to just rest, and heal. You need it the most." Fili rolled his eyes, a bit seeing how brother's were misleading.

"....alright.....fine..."

"Good." Nods Fili, seeing me now with my eyes shut, trying to sleep. Minutes later, I realized I wasn't able to rest. I had fooled them thinking I was asleep. I could hear the soft breathing coming from both sides of me. The brother's were fast asleep. However, there was something odd. Something on my forehead, it was still still slightly cool to the touch.

Until I could feel.

*D...rip....*

*Drip....*

This made my eyes shoot wide open. Slowly my hand touching my face, drawing it back. Seeing it was just water, not blood that I thought. I took this time of no sleep. Seeing how everyone was. The armor leather plate on my chest making me feel a bit still from my aching body. I didn' shift too much. I could feel the weight of something heavy, but warm on me. It was the coat of Kili Durin, dry, and soft to the touch. I didn't want to move because for once in a long while I felt warm.

I glanced down to the left seeing Kili's face facing straight up, as he slept. He looked soo innocent, and cute with the peaceful face. His carefree look making me wish I could sleep like that, even in here. His hand seemed to be placed right onto my sleeve, as if keeping trying to keep me from vanishing. The way his bangs parted around his face was just too perfect. I felt bad seeing him without a blanket because I was the one using it. Glancing to my right. Fili layed there. Rolled onto his side. His resting face, not stern.... and worried. More like happy. His head was placed onto his arm for support. His braided hair in front flopping own onto his face, while his beard braids lay flat on the ground.

'Thanks...' I found myself bowing my head slightly to the two. Till eyes caught me to look up.

"........." The darkened, but soft face of Thorin looking me dead in the eyes. 'H-he isn't't asleep??' I shuttered at his look, as he blinked his stressed tired looking eyes. I felt bad, knowing he was just like me not being able to see. While that was going on, I could here the shifting of a figure. Suddenly Bilbo popped up.

Carefully walking in between the maze of dwarf legs. I watched the little hobbit walk towards the exit. Only to be stopped by Bofur who was keep watch. Now there was four of us awake.

"Where do you think you're going?" A concerned Bofur asked.

"Back to Rivendell."

'! n-no.'

"N-no you can't turn back , now you're one of us, and....her." Bofur glanced at me a second, not realizing Icould here it all.

" ..oh, am I really..? Thorin said I should've never, come and he's right."

Bilbo paused for a moment, adjusting his walking stick.

"I'm not a took, I'm a Baggins.... I don't know what I was thinking."

'But we still like you Bilbo....'

"You're homesick, I understand."

"N-no you don't, none of you do. You're Dwarves..! Y-your use to-to living on the road. To this life. Never staying in once place, not belonging anywhere..!" Bilbo pushed back. Making a pang hit my heart.

"I..i'm...s sorry.....I didn't......mh...."

Did...he hate them...? I wasn't a Dwarf, but I never always felt in place either. However, the brother's always tried to make me feel welcome.

Thorin watched carefully.

"N-no...you're right. We don't belong anywhere..." Bofur stammered. Looking back down at us. I could catch a sad glimpse in his eyes.

'P-please...don't go..' I cried softly to myself. I didn't want him to go. I couldn't just get up, and say that because I would risk waking these two sleepy head next to me.

I looked to Thorin who was deep in thought.

"I wish you all the luck in the world. * Sets hand on Bilbo's shoulder* I really do."

"W-watch her for me........ I can't tear her away...from..." Bilbo glanced at my huddled form. He thought it was for the best having me stay with them, especially when I had no proper home.

Bofur nods slowly in agreement.

"What's that?"

*T-thump!*

I felt myself almost jump out of my skin. Seeing something blue light up the cave near me.
