Learning With A Open Heart Part 2

I awoke to something strange that early morning. "W-what.....?" I hissed at the feeling of being pushed.

It suddenly stopped, making my mind think I could slump back peacefully. "...mh....." There is was again. A slight nudge this time. It was starting to bother me. "..u-ugh.....b...u...g.....off............" I mumbled.

"C...an..nn't...yo...u see...I'm sleeping..........." I said with cold stern words. The figured stopped in surprise.

"Ha...this is harder...than I thought." A faint voice spoke.

Just like that I dozed right back to sleep. Making the one standing in the room gasp. "Oh, no you don't..!"

Those words were strong, making my mind open up suddenly from my dream world of a soft bed I haven't had since I came here. Something shook my shoulders again.

"Come on please....! wake up." A slight whisper came. I suddenly flung my hand up trying to swat the figure away. "Ah...!!" *Thud!* Suddenly came to my ears. I snapped my eyes open, only to see one shocked looking dwarf standing there next to the wall gripping it.

"Haha, nice one brother." A chuckle came from the outside of the room. A crossed armed Fili came inside with a playful smirk on his face. It entertained him seeing his brother suffer a bit in trying to wake me up. "...it's not my fault...." Trailed off Kili.

"UUrgh.....!" I groaned making the two step back in shock at my outburst. "Something the matter?" Kili blinked with his brother. "M-..my head hurts....." As I wiggled in the bed. It wasn't really their thought, but it was from all the shouting, and singing last night. "Well that is not good! I'll go get something for it. Thorin wants us to leave soon." Kili jumped to his feet, and began to speed walk out of the room.

"Wait...! no it's fine. I'll live." I didn't want to be a bother. He popped his head back. "Are you sure??" His face looking innocent.

"Yes."

"We will meet you outside. I'll tell Thorin you are coming." Fili said kindly, as he left with his brother. I still didn't know much about these guys, except their quest, and being a dwarf.

I slowly slid out of the bed. "Bye the only soft bed...I have touched here." It felt stupid, and right at the same time to say such words. Looking at my still bandaged feet I left, grabbing my cloak on my way out, I slung it over my shoulders and doing up the single button.

I couldn't help wonder if Bilbo was really going to join us. "Thanks Bilbo..., for everything." I whispered while shutting the door behind me. Only to be greeted by a group of dwarves, and a stern looking Thorin who seemed a little annoyed.

'Ah...yeah...don't upset him.' I took a mental note.

With my eyes I looked at all of their faces. They looked hell bent on this. Even the weapons this bunch had carried said they were ready to fight for their right, my eyes especially landed on the many blades, and daggers Fili had hidden in his leather arm straps. Then another large sword on his back. God know's how many more he had hidden under his jacket. He seemed like a sword master nonetheless. Kili also had a bow, and arrows on his back along with a really nice looking sword.

I made my way over to them as the morning sun began beaming down at us. I had to shut my eyes for a moment as it was too bright for me still.

"Let's go!" Thorin ordered. "Get on your pony, and don't fall behind." His eyes seemed to land on me. He was testing me....to see if I got what it takes. Swallowing down his stern look I watched as everyone mounted their ponies. It was actually cute seeing Thorin sit on a innocent pony, making his features soften and look more gentle.

I followed the group on foot, my feet protected by the brother's bandages did help. I didn't feel the cuts as bad now. It didn't take long to realize I was not alone. I glanced to the side, seeing two ponies walking next to me. A cute fuzzy brown one, and a multicolored white.

"Hello." Greeted the voice of Kili. I just looked at up him for a moment, and kept on walking. The two brothers just looked at each other and kept up with me, as I began to walk faster.

"Hello, Fili." I greeted to the other. Seeing his white pony was basically breathing down my neck now from the side. 'What were these two up too??' I took a few more steps faster forward. There was no way I would get stuck back here, and have Thorin yell at me for slowing them down.

It's been about a hour now. We were in a bright green forest filled with trees. Following a path. I could see all the way up to where the leader Thorin was. His raven long wavy hair swayed behind him on his dark colored pony. Till something made me freeze.

"WAIT! wait! STOP!" *Neigh!* The horses were pulled to a halt. Making them turn to face who was calling. Turning with them, my eyes landed on a upcoming figure. "

"It's Bilbo!" A dwarf chirped up. Rushing right past me, and the others. Stopping right at Balin holding the same paper up to him that was ones showed to him last night. "I signed it!"

We all blinked as Balin held a magnifying glass up to the paper. Then nodding to his satisfaction. "Welcome." He said to the hobbit. "Hn." Thorin said with a smirk.

"Get him a pony."

Bilbo shot right up at that. "Ah that wouldn't be necessary..! I've had my share of walking holidays myself." Just as that spilled out of the hobbit's mouth, I saw Fili, and Kili walk right up to the little hobbit one each side. Grabbing him by the straps of his backpack, and lifting him up right onto a horse.

"W-wahh!!" He exclaimed up surprise. With a playful smirk of the two brothers, they set him straight on a cute little light brown pony that matched his height and hair color perfectly.

To my surprise I felt myself smile at the scene. Seeing the two take order right on order. Or maybe it wasn't a order, but a request for Bilbo's safety. I continued after the group on foot, as I was now the very last one. Bottled up in my mind I failed to realize a call coming to me.

"Dose it still hurt??"

"Huh?" I tilted my head up seeing Kili now next to me on the pony's back. His eyes seemed to flash a concerned look. His brother Fili glancing back at us every once in awhile. Thinking for a moment, I looked back up at Kili still waiting for an answer.

"No, not really."

"Hm, well I don't doubt you can keep up on foot forever. Why don't you give your feet a break?....It will help your health, and all." His eyes suddenly looked ahead. 'H-he's...trying to help. Even though knowing Thorin might not like this.' I felt bad....

"We even have two ponies left who need a rider, if you like." He added still looking ahead. His shoulder length dark brown have glowed in the light. Swaying gently by the breeze. This was the one time when he stood taller than me. I was only human..., not like them. I didn't even have one weapon yet, and Fili over there was loaded with them.

"Come on miss______, just pick something." "Huh." I looked up seeing Fili turned towards us smiling brightly with his braided mustache, and beads hanging on them sway. I looked at the two ponies with missing riders. " Or there something else on your mind troubling you?" The brunette dwarf spoke quietly.

"Here." "!!!!" My eyes fell on a strong hand held down to me, it was Kili's. "Come on I'll steer. This way you can give your legs there a break." His eyes held such a kind glint in them. " We can take turns as well. So Uncle doesn't get bothered by it." Fili pulled back to us.

"I.....* I avert my eyes for a moment* alright. Thank You." Looking back up at Kili's hand I placed my hand in his, as he began to pull me up with ease. I swung my leg over the pony's back, taking my spot behind.

"Are you alright then?"

"Yes." I slightly smiled. "Now I know what it's like to be a dwarf."

"Haha, and what is it like?" Questioned the brunette, while his blonde brother glanced at me as well. "It's not bad, at all." Because what I sat down, the height in my legs was hidden, as my body wasn't that tall at all. I was no means as tall as Gandalf, but in between Kili, and his height.

Not long after that I almost got my head knocked off from flying bags of money."! W-ahh.." Ducking down I grabbed onto Kili's jacket.

"Watch where you're aiming..!" I breathed. Fili chuckling at my outburst. "They just took wagers, that's all. Heh." Suddenly a bag of money came flying into his hands. "Seriously..???'

"You can look up now."

"??" Kili's silver design hair clip came into view at my face. Having his back turned to me, I couldn't tell if he was laughing at me, or being serious.

"Just a thought. You can stay like that if you want. It really is up to you." Trying to hold in a playful laugh at this point was the hardest thing ever for the youngest dwarf to do.

Fili: * Turns his head* Trying to not get caught laughing.
