Y/N POV

It's been almost 11 years since the incident on K2-L, and Samus was ready to start here power suit training. I, Of course, was asked to oversee it as I had already proven myself quite adept with the power suit.

Y/N: "I think we've done enough preparation, it's time." I said to her

Samus: "Wait, really! I finally get to wear the power suit!" She said with stars in her eyes.

Y/N: "Yes Samus, you finally get to wear the power suit." I said to her.

The two of us walked to the chamber where it was being held and she looked up at the shiny new piece of armor in front of us. It was significantly smaller than mine, and it didn't have the big shoulder-pads like mine. 

Y/N: "impressive ain't it?" I said to her.

Samus: "It sure is." She said in a trance.

Y/N: "That's top of the line Chozo tech right there," I look closer to see one of the markings, "And a Genuine Dryn too, let me tell you, you won't find finer in the universe, now let's get this suit onto you." I say opening the case

The suit reached out its hand to her and she recoiled back.

Y/N: "Grab its hand now." I said to her sternly.

She obeyed, and as she grabbed it the suit dematerialized from it's place and seemed to have vanished. 

Samus: "Where did it go?" she asked.

Y/N: "It went into you, you and the suit are now one." I said to her.

We were outside in an open part of Crateria where I started to teach her things about the suit.

Y/N: "The suit is not only a suit of armor, but one with you, to control it is to control yourself, and in order to summon it you must concentrate." I say to her summoning your own suit.

She does much of the same and summons her suit.

Y/N: "good, now on the very top of your heads up display do you see the words energy and a bar?" I ask her

Samus: "yeah I do, what's it mean?" She asks.

Y/N: "That's the energy shield system, the main way it repels attack, nothing will harm you as long as you have some energy, but beware if it reaches zero your heart will be surged with electricity, and you will die." I say as I see her expression turn slightly scared.

Samus: "Okay, don't let it hit zero, got it." She said

Y/N: "Good, now can you move?" I ask her

She starts to walk, it starts as a clumsy gait, but she soon gets the hang of it and moves rather fluently. 

Y/N: "well you have that done, come on let me teach you a trick I learnt from the Etecoons." I say excitedly.

I jumped from wall to wall propelling myself off the wall and onto the other.

Y/N: "Now something this suit is, is heavy and so if you can easily shift weight back so you can use just one wall to go upwards." I say to her as I display just that.

She gets a really good grip on moving with the power suit, and so we go onto combat training, nothing major shoot a couple rust buckets walking towards you slowly.

it would be putting it lightly Samus was doing awful on the robots, I had done the test perfectly to demonstrate, but she was suffering. I don't know if it was the pressure, but she was moving perfectly earlier and she froze up now, this is her 4th try now and the robots are getting closer to her. Beside me was Samus' pet Pyonchi, Gray Voice, and Old Bird.

Y/N: "Samus, quickly, they're closing in!" I yelled to her.

She tried to aim the arm cannon, but it barely moved

Samus: "He-hey, don't get so close." She yelled to the oncoming robots

She fired the shot, but instead of hitting any robots it hid a hoodoo and blew it up.

Gray Voice: "aah, she barely moved her body, she's hopeless" he said which got Old Bird to look at him disapprovingly.

Tuckered out her suit dematerialized and she lied down. I saw the mother brain probe go to her and say something she seemed to not approve of as she gripped the metal ball nearly crushing it.

Gray Voice: "It seems you haven't invested your emotions into it, what's the matter."

Samus looked to the Chozo.

Samus: "Gray" she said weakly

Gray Voice: "Listen, despite the prosperity of the milky way galactic federation, violence and calamity still run rampant, You know that better than anyone." He said.

As he said that I saw Samus wince slightly.

Gray Voice: "you cannot afford to be second place or third place you understand." He said and Samus turned her back to us.

Gray Voice: "If you are one of us, you are also a protector of this galaxy. I wish for you to become a soldier and carry out your "duty"" He said

Samus looked on the verge of tears right now.

Samus: "Why do you want me?! look to your right you've got your little homegrown all Chozo warrior Y/N! There you go, he's your 'protector of the galaxy' leave me alone!" She yelled before jumping up onto a cliff.

All 3 of us didn't find it in us to stop her, so we let her go for now.

Y/N: "my training has at least improved her physical strength."  I stated.

Old Bird: "that it has"  he responded.

*Timeskip brought to you by a change to Old Bird's POV*

I went after Samus, hoping that she'd not gone far. I did eventually find her by a cliff with a couple butterflies.

Samus: "Huh, a butterfly?" she says

Old Bird: "Iona Feria." I state as she looks back

Samus: "Oji chan!" She says.

Old Bird: "It absorbs moisture, ionizes it, and uses the energy to fly." I state.

Samus seems to ignore me and instead looks up to the dozens in the sky

Samus: "Wah, pretty." She says in a dreamlike trance.

Old Bird: "We use the power of minus ions as well, They're very relaxing." I say as I feel Pyonchi start to pluck at my feathers.

Samus: "Gosh, you're talking about that complicated stuff again. It's just enough to say pretty." She says.

She paused and looked out into the expanse beyond the cliff.

Samus: "I'm sorry about before, I know I have a 'duty' but it just makes me feel uneasy, I just can't really explain it." She says with a sad tone.

I smile slightly, her statement reminds me of the reason why she will be the protector of the galaxy.

Old Bird: "you worry despite knowing what must be done. Hmm, what a human thing for you to say, A very interesting species." I said to her.

Samus: "Aah, Oji Chan, you're saying complicated things again!" she pouted. 

I sighed no matter what she was still a 14 year old girl. 

Old Bird: "Very well, I shall leave you here I must attend a meeting with Mother Brain." I say before leaving her.

Y/N POV

I decided to skip out on the meeting with Mother Brain, I don't really care for them, and I'm not even required to be there. I was just taking a stroll with Old Bird and the mother brain probe through the place when I see Samus up on a balcony crying. I was silent, and instead had Old Bird say something.

Old Bird: "Time flies, you were so small, but without realizing it you've grown so much." He said

Samus: "Oji chan?!" She asked while turning around to us.

Old Bird: "Even though we are called the 'protectors of the galaxy' because we leave everything including labor and meditation to mother brain we are a declining species, there's no meaning in keeping a young person like you here. It may be time for you to become independent." He said

I quickly shift my glance from Samus to Old Bird.

Y/N: "What!? She hasn't completed here training, we barely started, We'd be sending her out to die!" I yell.

Thankfully Samus doesn't really speak Chozo that well, so only Old Bird understood, but as I finished Old Bird glared at me with a genuine annoyance I hadn't seen in my near 23 years of life.

Old Bird: "We gave her power, after that all that's left for her to master and discipline is her heart." He said

He looks over to Samus

Old Bird: "And you can build that on your own." He said sternly.

We were all silent for a little the howling winds were the only sound that filled the air, but after what felt like an eternity Old Bird once again broke the silence.

Old Bird: "Samus the choice for us to walk new and different paths is a correct one, You should become the true 'protector of the galaxy.'" He said.

Samus: "Me, the true 'protector of the galaxy'" She said to herself looking up at the sky. 

She turned back to us

Samus: "But why not Y/N?" She asked.

Old Bird: "I knew you'd ask that, Y/N, shall I let you explain?" He asked me.

Y/N: "Yes, I'll explain from here, So, I've already told you I've been here since I was born, and they did the same thing with the DNA to me, well just like a lot of things, the first try is never perfect." I say as I dematerialize my gauntlets and point to my 'fingernails'. 

Y/N: "See how sharp they are, see how they're shaped, I'm more Chozo than human, and it modified more than the outside, it altered my Brain too, I think like them too, I lived here for all my life, I inherited their culture, their sins, their triumphs, and their beliefs. For millennia the Chozo warriors tried to keep peace, but we never truly succeeded, the Universe doesn't need another Chozo Warrior, it needs you." I say to her with a tinge of sadness in my voice.

She hummed in understanding, and looked back out to the stars.

Well, I guess my sister is the new protector of the universe.
