Harmony

I walk into the living room from the bedroom to see my absolutely unfairly handsome husband on the couch, watching Tv.

It's a rainy day here in Madrid. His training was cancelled today which is lucky for me because I get to spend all day with him. Something I adore and always will.

He looks calm which is good. It's needed for the news I need to break to him. Not sure how he's going to react.

"Hello dear husband of mine." I smile way too enthusiastically as I sit down beside him on the couch.

He mindlessly wraps an arm around me before he turns to look my way. His full focus on me now.

He doesn't speak. Just scans my face.

"What did you do?" He asks instantly. Fuck. Forgot how well this man knows me. Literally can read every emotion every waver in my voice every look, every raise of the eyebrow. I'm a complete open book to him. A book he's read so many times and constantly reads. Love it usually. Hate it in a situation like this.

"What? Nothing!" I defend.

He looks around our large apartment.

"Whatever plants you bought return them." He demands

"I didn't buy any plants!" Cross my arms over my chest.

He gives me that look he always gives me when he knows I'm full of shit and lying.

I roll my eyes with a huff.

I may of bought a few.

"It's only five!" I insist.

"Five! Harms look at the apartment. It's a jungle already." He gestures around to the various plants decorating the living room.

"You said you'd let me do this. That you'd love me forever even when we'd argue about me wanting more plants and that you'd let me buy them because you can't say no to me!" I point out. Nose in the air as I turn away from him.

He rolls his eyes, sighing. Which means he's accepted defeat how I always knew he would.

"No more now!"

"Hah, we'll see." I grin.

He laughs, kisses the side of my head. Goes to turn back to the tv but he still sees me looking nervous.

"You didn't just buy plants did you?" He rubs his face in slight distress.

"Um...no...." Fiddle with my hands.

He grabs them to stop me.

"Hey, you know I'm only joking about the plants. You can buy as many as you want. Within reason." He laughs

"Well duh." I sass and he laughs more.

"That's not why I'm nervous...."

"Why are you nervous?" His voice is soft.

I look down at our intertwined hands.

"I um....I put in a viewing for a house." I admit.

His eyebrows scrunch in confusion.

"Oh? Is that it?" He laughs softly.

"That's fine baby." He reassures rubbing my arm.

I force a smile.

"If you need more space that's fine. A house is a good idea anyways."

"Yeah....we need more space. And...an extra room." My eyes look at his.

"Extra room? Why—" I watch him pause. Work it out and it slowly click into place in his mind.

His eyes go to my stomach first and then find mine.

"Harms are you—are we—oh my god!"

"Are you—?"

I break into a nervous smile, still unsure whether he's going to be excited or scared. We're still so young. I'm not even twenty three yet. We've barely been married a year.

"I'm pregnant." I nod, eyes a bit teary.

"Oh my god!" Jude breaks into the biggest smile and that eases my nerves immediately. He pulls me into a hug, holds me tight.

"I'm so happy!" He sighs contently.

"Are you happy baby?" He asks softly, looking at me.

"Yeah. I'm so happy! But...I'm also really scared." My hands are trembling so Jude stills them by holding them.

"We've got this. It's me and you against the world remember." He encourages.

"You're going to be an amazing mum, Harms." He reaches out and pushes some hair behind my ear. I love how he can always calm me down.

"I love you so much." I whisper, gazing into his gorgeous brown eyes.

"I love you even more. You and this little one." He kisses me softly and then bends down to plant a gentle kiss on my stomach.

"Can't believe we've got a baby that's all me and all you." I smile resting my head on Jude's shoulder.

"He or she is going to be the best!" Jude grins

"Yeah! And crazy." I laugh

"Definitely." He laughs along.

"Hey—" He turns to me

"Let's call him or her Rocky." He's so unserious.

"No fucking way." I laugh gently nudging him.

"Just a thought." He shrugs.

I shake my head, lean up and kiss him and then lay my head back down.

"Can't wait to start this life with you." I tell him.

He strokes my hair.

"Been dreaming about it all with you for three years now. Now I finally get it."

After two whole books, Harmony and
Jude's story is over.
