Im Just a Fake Phony

A/N:

Hey guys, I'm so sorry it's been almost a year. I owe you all an explanation so here it goes

First off, my pjsk interest skyfell down for almost a year now, its slowly coming back. I tried multiple times to finish this earlier but kept getting writers block on how to procede and just not feeling up to it. On top of that, so many things happened in between. My sister had another kid that I helped care for (she's much older than me guys im not old I swear) I got a boyfriend who I adore and spent a lot of my bad days with, school hit me in the face and the biggest thing was my mental health

I'm not gonna get into it but it took a massive drop over the past year and its been a struggle to gave motivation to do anything, let alone write. However it's getting slowly better than it was now, and I took a shower this morning and suddenly remembered that oh shit, I have left this on a cliff hanger since August with no explanationand I haven't responded to comments . So I apologize guys, and I'm really gonna try to pump out chapters to make out for lost time and I feel like shit for ignoring some of your beloved comments that I now just replied too.

Besides from that, I might rewrite this a bit since I don't like how I wrote some chapters. And if there's any inconsistency within this chapter I'm sorry I forgot a bit of the plot 😭😭. AND ALSO. I'm aware this isn't exactly how tsukasa and the others would act and that his parents aren't like this a lot either. Pls think for this as an au I made 2 years ago and not smth I genuinely think happens, thank you!!

PART FOR WATTPAD ONLY READERS: HEY SO I JUST REALIZED... EWWWW I DIDN'T UPDATE MY SLIGHT REWRITE OF THE 1ST CHAPTER FROM AGES AGO I FIXED ON HERE IM SORRY... AND I DIDN'T UPDATE THE DESCRIPTION!! THOSE ARE BEING FIXED BY THE TIME U SEE THIS AND I HAVEN'T BEEN REPLYING TO COMMENTS BC I DELETED WATTPAD FOR AWHILE SO... IM SORRY GUYS!!

The first thing Tsukasa did when he stepped inside, was rush to a pillar covered in black substance in the center of the place. He swiftly avoided all the debris all over the place without even sparing a glance.

Mafuyu however, was not as lucky as she went to follow and tripped over some rubble that blended in with the floor. She fell with a grunt, landing on her knees.

"Are you alright?" Kanade asked her, rushing over to the fallen girl. She outstretched a hand for her to grip and steady herself on.

"I'm fine, thank you Kanade," Mafuyu said, not missing the way Kanade looked her up and down in concern. Afterward, she looked over at Tsukasa's movement again.

He was touching the substance on the pillar with one hand, staring at it with curiosity. Kaito somehow reappeared in front of them and was leaning on the pillar next to Tsukasa.

Kanade walked away from Mafuyu and approached the pillar. She hesitantly placed her hand on it with the rest of them. Kanade looked unphased by whatever was on there until-

"I wouldn't touch th-"

"Ah! "

"...And that's why! " Kaito said.

Kanade pulled her hand back to her chest as quick as lightning, burnt by whatever it was. Mafuyu's eyes widened and she rushed over. She gently grabbed Kanade's burnt hand by the wrist and checked to see if it left any marks.

"Kanade, are you okay? " Mafuyu asked.

"I'm okay Mafuyu..it was just so cold that it felt hot, you know that feeling? I'm surprised it didn't leave a mark. " Kanade questioned, staring at her hand.

Tsukasa glanced at them without a word and continued to walk around. He went over to the side of the Sekai with the hanging stars, hopped up onto the stage, and approached the throne.

Kanade followed him, but the posters of the people on the wall caught Mafuyu's eye, especially the heavily ripped one with the Jester.

She bent down near the portrait and picked up some of the ripped parts. She clusmsily arranged them together, and it revealed the expression of the Jester. The Yellow Jester was crying but still had a bright smile on, from what she could see.

Mafuyu dropped the pieces and walked over to Tsukasa and Kanade, who had made no conversation progress yet. She sat on the floor next to Kanade, trying to avoid the substance all over the floor.

Tsukasa slowly sat on the throne, despite all the guck all over it, ignoring Kanade's "wait-" before he sat.

Despite the reaction of the others to it, Tsukasa seemed not affected by the guck at all, even looking like he might like how it feels.

He pulled his legs up to his chest, and grabbed some of the guck, feeling it with his fingers. He then wrapped his arms around his knees and placed his chin on his knees.

"...Tsukasa. Me and Mafuyu are going to try and help your situation. We started ideas for a song... But we can't help unless we know what's going on. " Kanade spoke up to Tsukasa.

Tsukasa just shrugged at her and looked away instead of replying. Mafuyu looked up and saw movement. Confused, she kept watching the feeling as the black substance moved around. It eventually dropped down and created something similar to a rope.

Mafuyu elbowed Kanade and pointed to it since she had been staring at Tsukasa, and not paying attention to what Mafuyu was. She let out a gasp and said

"How did..."

Kaito headed towards them, finally moving away from his spot against the pillar. He hopped up on the stage went towards the rope-like figure, and simply moved it in a way that he could be standing on it in the air.

"How about we start with your mother, Tsukasa? I bet you have lots of things to say about her~" said Kaito.

Tsukasa whipped his head towards Kaito and glared at him. "There is nothing wrong with my mother,"

"Tsukasa, what's your mother like?" Kanade asked, curious.

Tsukasa hesitated, but he looked like he wanted to prove Kaito's statement wrong so he spoke.

"Well...my mother is perfect. She loves and cares for me and my sister, making sure we grow upright to have a promising future.

So she is quite strict, mostly to me since I'm the eldest...but she does it for my good." Tsukasa said, defending his mother's actions.

"If calling your son a disgrace and making his mental health plummet to this level is considered strict parenting, I think a lot of parents would still have custody of their children-"

"Would you shut up?! " Tsukasa snaps his head to Kaito, glaring.

"Mother... Mother just used harsher words than normal this time! She normally isn't like that, she just wanted to make sure I knew what I did was wrong and that my behavior changes in the future! "

Tsukasa yelled at Kaito, sitting up straight now, glaring at the Vocaloid. Mafuyu looked at Tsukasa, then at Kaito, then at Tsukasa again.

"What did your mother call you a disgrace for? " Kanade spoke up, asking Tsukasa.

"..I was the last up at a sleepover I hosted. There were many people there, and my parents had gotten home and up before me!

My sister's girlfriend even made breakfast instead of me...Mother was right, it was disgraceful behavior for a host to have! " Tsukasa stated, looking back at mafuyu for a moment. At the end of his rant, he glared back at Kaito.

Kanade hesitated before speaking, thinking of the correct words to reply to that.

"...Even if she had good intentions you need to realize Tsukasa, that calling your child a disgrace is not a healthy nor normal way to discipline them." Kanade finally decided on those words.

Tsukasa looked at Kanade now and shot out a reply. "I. know. that. That's why I said Mother never normally says things like that! She...She's just trying to show me how to behave...

And I normally don't need speaking to like that anyway! I was pretty disgraceful for that out-of-ordinary behavior anyway-! "

"Disgraceful for being tired and sleeping in after staying up until like- three am? Damn, I guess I'd be a massive disappointment in your mother's eyes-"

"No one asked for your comments, Kaito! " Tsukasa yelled at the blue-haired man again.

Mafuyu looked between the two, curious about the bickering. Kanade just sighed and put her hand on her face.

"Guys-"

"Please, this conversation wouldn't be entertaining for our read-... Wouldn't be beneficial if I didn't step in, you wouldn't even be speaking without me starting topics! " Kaito argued, a pissy frown on his face.

"Everyone would benefit from you shutting the fuck up, actually-"

"Kanade is trying to speak! " Mafuyu interrupted the two, Showing the most emotion and speaking the most she had all night. She scowled at the two, then looked at Kanade.

"Kanade, you were trying to say..? " She asked Kanade, smiling a tiny bit, unlike her normally blank expression.

Tsukasa and Kaito halted their bickering, slightly startled at Mafuyu's interrupted, and annoyed at each other still.

"...Thank you, Mafuyu. I was going to ask why you were up so late in the first place. What was going on at the sleepover, pulling an all-nighter? " Kanade asked, questioning Tsukasa.

"No...everyone went to bed about midnight. "

"All except you?" Kanade asked.

"I did go to sleep, but I woke up after someone else got up, and followed them. " Tsukasa clarified to the blue-haired woman.

"Another person?"

"Oh yes! The second person whose feelings created This fragment! How's he doing?"

Kaito hopped down from the rope made of the cold substance, and the three watched as it dissolved its form, and turned back into black guck on the floor with a 'splotch' noise as it hit the ground.

Kaito got on his knees and rested his elbows on the throne in the center of the stage. He put his chin on his hands and blinked up at Tsukasa, who was sitting on the throne.

Tsukasa shuffled away from the side Kaito's head rested on in disgust, side-eyeing the man.

" Never mind, stupid question! I already know, of course..."

Kaito's eyes drifted to the pillars covered in guck for a second, specifically the 2nd one. He stood up in one swift motion and started to walk over to the second pillar, one hand on his hip.

" Or I did know what he was feeling about an hour ago..."

He jumps down from the stage and moves to the center of the building, right in front of the second pillar. He then touches the 2nd pillar and closes his eyes.

The two girls look at Kaito, confused at his action. Tsukasa however, just rested his chin on the opposite side of the throne armrest, looking up at the decor on the stage's roof.

Kaito opened his eyes a moment later, with a slight look of disappointment. He then slowly removed his hand from the pillar with a sigh.

" Yup, pretty much as good as I'd expect for him right now."

Kanade and Mafuyu looked at each other for a second, then back at Kaito.

" How do you know that? Does the guck...help you read their mind or something? " Mafuyu asked him for both of them.

Kaito walked back up to the stage and sat on the edge of it. He shook his head at Mafuyu, crossing his arms.

"No...that's just stupid! It's more like... the representation of their bad feelings!" Kaito grins at them.

" What do you mean....representation? " Kanade asked.

" Think of the pillar as a person. Now, the pillar is supposed to barely have any cracks or substance on it at all for it to be a stable pillar- though normally most have a few cracks or some guck on them the older they get.

But the cracks aren't supposed to be frequent and large on the pillar, and there isn't supposed to be an overflowing amount of guck on them either. Whatever guck on them is supposed to be at least lukewarm, too. " Kaito explained to them, grinning.

"Wanna guess what the guck and cracks represent?" The grinning man asked, looking between the three of them.

"The guck represents bad feelings. They ooze out of the cracks in the pillars, and the more cracks there are the more guck can come out. " Tsukasa suddenly spoke up, playing with some of the guck on the throne

"And let me guess, the colder the guck is to the touch, the worse and most severe their sadness or what is upsetting them is. "

"Bingo! Right on the money kid!" Kaito exclaimed.

Kanade looked decently deep in thought while Mafuyu piped up. "...Kaito, who's the second person?"

Kaito shook his head and sighed. "Not my place to tell girls. However...He is someone very dear to your Ena."

"Akito." Tsukasa quickly replied, standing off the throne and wiping some of the guck off his outfit with a disgusted face.

"Her brother?!" Kanade exclaimed with confusion. Mafuyu tilted her head at the immediate conclusion "Elaborate?"

"He was the one up that night that I followed and Kaito just said that was the person," Tsukasa rolled his eyes.

"He had the same dead eyes as me too. He snapped out of it after a little thought and looked scared shitless. Pretty sure he's not doing the best he could be,"

Kaito nodded his head "Right again!"

"... But doesn't Akito already have a Sekai?" Mafuyu asked, shaking her head.

Mafuyu recalls the time Ena and her were speaking and Akito, or who she assumed was Akito ended up storming into her room. Ena, who was shocked he was still awake got distracted and just so happened to leave her Mic unmuted.

He was loudly talking about the Vocaloids and a Sekai, described differently than their own, so she rightfully assumed it was his own. He sounded a mix of annoyed and upset over something she couldn't quite remember, and pretty out of it.

Mafuyu also remembers Ena's voice of concern as she scolded the boy for being out so late. But when she mentioned his roughed-up appearance and tried to ask what happened to him out there, it was most definitely the wrong thing to say.

He replied with a string of loud yells and incoherent babbling, something like him screaming at her to mind her business and that she kept poking into everything and criticizing it.

Ena didn't take nicely to that remark and started defending herself, but she sounded more angry-concern than just angry at him. At that point, it just sounded like jumbled screaming so Mafuyu took her headphones off and didn't catch the end of it.

So yeah, Mafuyu could agree with Tsukasa that Akito did not seem to be doing well in the slightest the last she heard of him, which did not happen long ago.

Kaito leaned forward towards Mafuyu and swung his legs. He grinned and pointed a lazy finger at her. "And why exactly do you think a person can't have multiple Sekai's?"

Kanade budded in "Well... None of us are in two, nor our friends until this," She muttered.

"I mean, it's highly unusual...but unusual things tend to happen a lot more than we think! Besides, it's not like it's written anywhere or a rule that someone can't!"

Kaito kept a grin on his face as he hopped off the edge of the stage and slowly walked in front of it.  "It usually happens when someone's emotion drastically changes from when the original Sekai was made.

When it's to the point that a person just wouldn't feel happy or comfortable in the original Sekai like they had no interest in confiding their feelings in there anymore. The Vocaloid there could not help them through it,"

"Of course, there are a few...problems to this happening." The man continued. "The more the person changes or struggles to find their original goal or emotions back, the more destroyed the original Sekai will become.

If you are in a shared Sekai from multiple feelings like Akito, the fragment he has will begin to wither up...turning grey and destroyed. The Vocaloid he is connected to will start to become affected by this, emotionally and physically... until well...he's gone!"

"Gone?!" Kanade yelled. "Like as in...gone gone?" Kaito leaned down and grabbed a withered-up flower near the stage, presenting it to the three.

"Dead. Just like this flower! It's a painful process, a horrid way to go out if I must say. However, it is not as bad as if someone owned a whole Sekai made of only their feelings. No, that outcome is way worse."

Tsukasa's head jerked up and he stared directly into Kaito's eyes. The blue-haired man noticed this change and smirked, dropping the flower.

"Aha, did I catch the Jester's attention? I know you have a whole other Sekai dedicated to your feelings, you must be interested!"

Tsukasa continued to glare at Kaito, not speaking a word. The Vocaloid sighed and pouted. "Come on, where did the fun to tease blondie go from earlier?! Fine... you are no fun. I guess I must explain..."

"Well, dear Tsukasa, your Sekai will start to grey from the edges. it will become a scary, eerie place with no life and it will continue to spread to the inside without stopping as this continues.

Your Vocaloid friend's emotions will start to be all over the place, they will become confused about what to feel at all!"

Kaito continued. "Eventually, the decay will spread to the whole Sekai and it will just become a faded, cracked abyss with no decoration. Oh, and it will most definitely reach all your Vocaloid friends. Slowly, one by one each of them will suffer and cease to exist watching their friends disappear until..."

Kaito brutally stomped on the previous flower, smearing it all over the floor "Poof! It's gone! Everything there, Every old memory represented there to explore... every Vocaloid friend's life...Gone!"

Tsukasa face, for the first time since they entered here, actually made a face other than anger or boredom. He looked frightened at the mention of everything leaving him, wrapping his arms around himself. Kaito walked over to him and rested two hands on his shoulder.

"And I'm sure you wouldn't want all your partner's happy places...your Vocaloid friend's lives to disappear all because of you, now would you Tsukasa?" Kaito whispered in his ear.

Before Tsukasa or Kanade reacted, Mafuyu stood and swiftly walked towards the pair. She took one look at Tsukasa's trembling body, and shoved Kaito off him with force.

Kaito whined as he stumbled back onto the floor, crossing his arms.

"Awe, did I trigger Ms. Asahina too? Come on, I was just playing with the boy~!" The purple-haired girl ignored him, and hesitantly rested a hand on Tsukasa's back, trying to avoid a break down.

"It is not your fault you feel like this, don't blame yourself for the state of the Sekai or what could happen. It will only cause more harm to your mind right now." The girl said sternly, but sorta...comfortingly?

She stared at Tsukasa's now relaxing arms, and he nodded at her. She then turned to give a death glare at Kaito as Kanade hopped onto the stage.

"We won't let that happen anyway even if it takes every second of our day. We will help you Tsukasa, and I will make a song to reach your feelings, I swear it!" Kanade declared.

Tsukasa looked her up and down before finally replying "And how would you do that? It's not like you can just heal me with some sort of happy feely yay love each other song. This isn't a Disney Romance movie."

"Well...okay that's true." It was, she didn't even know how to properly start it yet or anything she could use besides a few mentioned lines about his mother...

his Mother!

"Hey Tsukasa, is there by any chance a way we could meet your Mother? From the sound of it, she is probably causing mos-..." Kanade stopped short with a worried glare from both Kaito and Mafuyu.

They both shook their heads slowly to say no no, that is not how to approach that it's gonna definitely set him off and we won't get anywhere.

"Uhm..." She received a look from Tsukasa, almost to ask why to stopped short.

"You were saying about my Mother?"

"Since you describe your mother as this amazing caring person, I think Kanade and I would like a chance to meet her to see what she is like around you and to see ourselves how amazing she is since..." Mafuyu picked up but trailed off at the end.

"Since they both have no present loving mother figures in their life to go off of!" Kaito concluded, saving the two with his hands on his hips and a worried smile.

Mafuyu seemed a little hurt at the remark and looked Kaito up and down with anger, and Kanade just looked sad but also pretty relieved. "Yes, what Kaito said! It would be lovely to meet her for reference!" Kanade rushed out nervously.

They sat in silence for a little, hoping Tsukasa believed their lie because they had zero other excuses that wouldn't set him off, and no other way of seeing firsthand what was happening. "...My mother and father just returned from business. They plan to take me, my sister, and our friends out in a little. She did say more the merrier..."

Tsukasa thought for a moment and then nodded. "I guess it would be okay for you two to tag along... Just make sure to dress nicely! Mother's first impressions matter very much..." He trailed off.

"That's perfect!" Kanade said with excitement, cupping both of Tsukasa's hands in her own, and lifting them. Kaito did not miss the way Mafuyu looked at the gesture with a sour face and giggled, much to Mafuyu's annoyance.

"Don't worry, we will be on our best behavior, trust us. You are free later, right Mafuyu?" Kanade now wore a warm smile, things were working out so far.

Kanade stood outside of the Tenma's home with Mafuyu. She as promised, had dressed up for the occasion. She wore a blue frilly dress shirt, black pants, and some nice old sneakers she found in the back of her closet...it was the best she had. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, and she wore a butterfly necklace and bracelet.

Mafuyu beside her, had a tan blouse on and a black skirt. Her hair was let down, which in Kanade's opinion, was a beautiful change and oh my god she should wear her hair down more. She had Mary Jane's on and a black hairband.

Kanade took a breath in and grabbed Mafuyu's hand gently. Mafuyu jolted and stared at their interlocked hands before staring up at Kanade. "Ready for what could happen?" The girl asked.

Mafuyu squeezed the soft hand and nodded. Kanade raised her hand to the door and knocked a few times, letting go of Mafuyu's hand. The girl resisted the urge to frown and moved her hand back in front of her, taking a breath.

"Oh Rui dear, your back!" A woman said, opening the door and looking away. However, at the sight of the two girls, her head cocked to the side with wonder.

"Oh, my apologies, girls. I thought you were my son's boyfriend. May I ask who you two are?" The older woman asked.

The woman had short curly blonde hair, some of it in the back held up in a half up half down style. Her eyes were an amber shade, and her smile seemed very gentle. She wore a long, white English teacher-styled sweater and a fall-like brown dress underneath.

"Mrs.Tenma? It's very nice to meet you, we are-"

Just then, they heard footsteps coming down the large steps. "Mother, allow me to introduce them! These are my friends, Kanade Yoisaki and Mafuyu Asahina. You told us the more people coming along the merrier, so I figured inviting these two would be alright!"

This version of Tsukasa was...Eerie. It was convincing, Mafuyu must say, but after seeing what he was like in the Sekai mere hours ago, this was a jarring change...Is this what my friends feel when I change to my happy personality in public too?

"Oh, Welcome in then! Although I would have preferred my son to let me know in advance when he invites new friends..." She glanced at him, and Tsukasa's face slightly dropped to panic at her trail off.

"I did say to invite anyone! Come, come in darlings, let's have a chat shall we? I have tea prepared." Mrs. Tenma's face brightened, and she led the girls into the house.

"Thank you, you too kind Ma'am!" Mafuyu exclaimed, figuring she should speak now. She did not miss the way Tsukasa's eyes locked onto her as she changed her whole demeanor, almost staring into her soul. He's probably just as freaked as she was a little ago...

Kanade's face dropped too, but only for a moment. "Tsukasa hun, go get them some tea, please? I assume that's why you set up the kettle earlier," Mrs. Tenma requested, sitting down across from the girls in the living room.

"Yes, of course, I did Mother! You know I know it would be rude to not give a guest anything, especially first-time ones!" Tsukasa exclaimed.

Mrs.Tenma smiled "I would not have expected less from you, sweetheart. Such a pleasant boy I raised, hm?"

Tsukasa's face seemed to genuinely smile at the praise, scurrying off to go get a cup of tea for the girls. "It's all thanks to you I'm like this, Mother,"

"You could say that again..." Kanade mumbled under her breath.

"So, girls, tell me a little about yourselves! How is everything?" She turned to Mafuyu, "It's Asahina, right? I think I went to school with your mother! Oh, she was just the most intelligent and helpful person, you're so lucky to have a parent like her!"

Mafuyu's face twisted up for a moment, and Kanade made a choked noise, glancing over to Mafuyu's now back to smiling expression. "Sorry, been coughing lately..."

Mrs.Tenma waved her hand down in the air "Oh it's nothing to apologize for, hun. Yoisaki? I think I knew your mother too!"

Both the girl's eyes widened "You...knew mom?" Kanade said with an unsteady voice.

"Mhm, I hung out with her a lot now that I recall. My god, you sure do look a lot like young her. Just as pretty too," She gave a sweet smile that morphed into a frown.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Kanade. It's always sad, how the kindest, most helpful, and most caring people go to soon. She must have loved you with her whole heart, I know she would have." Mrs.Tenma Reached out and gave a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Want to hear some stories about young her? I have plenty. She was everything I mentioned but also quite clumsy and funny in school years." She offered.

Mafuyu looked between the two as Tsukasa re-entered the room, placing the teas down so as not to disturb the two. "If you would, I'd like to hear some." The girl asked.

Tsukasa sat between the two girls as Mrs.Tenma started excitedly reciting stories for the girls, as they waited for the others to arrive. She seems very sweet so far but...something has to be off, Mafuyu knows it. All she can do, however, is wait to see.
