"guys i have an idea, let's play hide and seek!" diana said excitedly with a big grin on her face.

"i'm not counting!" josie said.

"hmm, who can count then?" jane questioned.

"how about diana counts as she suggested the game?" cole suggested.

"yeah, that seems fair enough." diana replied. "i'll give you all 1 minute to hide!"

giggles of excitement was all you could hear as the group of friends ran away from diana as she began counting.

"1,2,3" diana whispered, before continuing to count to 60.

anne ran further into the forest, her two braids bouncing up and down behind her in the wind. a smile was plastered on her face as she saw the beauties of nature pass by her. she knew exactly where she wanted to hide.

she continued to run across the familiar path which finally lead to her story club. she would write stories with ruby and diana and cole would make beautiful statues that surrounded this magnificent palace. when she first moved to avonlea this was one of the few places that made her feel at home.

she climbed through the entrance, giggling as she remembered all of the memories she made here when she was younger.

she looked up and was quite surprised when she locked eyes with the gilbert blythe.

"gilbert? how did you know this was here?" anne questioned, her smile fading.

she thought that only herself, diana, ruby, cole, miss stacy and marilla knew of this sacred place.

"oh, well i-" gilbert started.

"wait did ruby tell you? oh of course she did." anne frowned.

"why would ruby tell me?"

"well you know, ruby's got a massive crush on you but i like you and i'm not surprised that she would tell you and.. oh no! i think i said too much.." anne said shyly looking down at her feet.

"wait anne likes me?" gilbert thought to himself, a smirk appearing on his lips.

anne was internally freaking out, why did her mouth run so much?!

"wait so you like me?"

"well yes! no!? i like you in a platonic way.. yeah, that's what i meant! nothing romantic whatsoever!"

but gilbert saw straight through anne's lies, anne liked him back.

they were sat very close together, faces inches apart.

"gilbert.." anne breathed barely audible.

but he didn't answer. well he did, just not with words.

he kissed her.

anne was shocked, she'd never ever kissed anyone before, i mean, she had practised with her pillow a fair few times, while roleplaying as princess cordelia, but it wasn't the same.

she leaned in, deepening the kiss. one of his hands was placed on her waist whilst the other cupped her face carressing her cheek. her hands were wrapped around his neck, playimg with his hair.

if it was even possible, they deepend the already passionate kiss even more, and now anne's hands were now also cupping his cheeks.

he couldn't get enough of her, he needed the space between them to disappear, he needed her. all their thoughts of the game they were playing had disappeared, the were only focused on eachother.

when they had finally separated as they both needed to breathe, she smiled against his lips, he was staring into her beautiful ocean blue eyes and whispered while smiling  "i've wanted to do that for a long time."

he kissed her again, caressing her cheek, with no care in the world as they had eachother. but unfortunately the moment didn't last as they heard a..

"uhm?!"

they separated with a jump.

"diana how long have you been there?" anne asked red face and flustered. it somehow made gilbert proud to see how he could do that to her but he was also extremely embarrassed that they got caught kissing.

he reached a hand behind his neck proving his embarrassment.

"long enough, and how long have you guys been.. uhh.. together? and not telling me anne, that's so uncool!" diana said.

"calm down di, it only just happened!"

"so are you two like together? and don't lie to protect ruby because i clearly just caught you guys making out sooo i need answers like right now!" diana smirked.

"we don't know what we are because like anne said i- we only started kissing a couple minutes ago and w-" gilbert stuttered.

"couple minutes!?"

"diana stop yelling!" anne said, worried that others passing by would hear what was going on.

"sorry! i'm just intrigued how you both happen to be hiding in the same hiding spot, and then you started making out like the two of you are married! wait are you engaged?! because only engaged people are like allowed to kiss like that or even kiss at all!!" diana realised, after remembering the lessons her mother taught her about relationships and marriage.

"no diana! we are not engaged! now stop freaking out and promise you won't tell a soul what you just saw!" anne said slightly annoyed.

"fine i swear, but when you do get engaged i have to be the first to know! ok you two!" diana said smiling, secretly happy for her friend.

"yes fine!" anne said, and then realised that she basically just told gilbert she would be fine getting married to him. the thing is, she would get married to him in a heartbeat.

luckily, he wasn't freaked out, he just gave her a warm comforting smile.
