Mission 5: Of Foxes and Swords

"So besides Adam Taurus, who are some of the other high-ranking White Fang members that could be at Beacon, Blake?" Ruby asked her teammate. The cat Faunus put a hand to her chin.

"Let me think," she said, narrowing her amber eyes. "Assuming nothing happened to him in the five years this show skipped over, Adam should still have a lieutenant working for him, though I can't remember his name. The Albain Brothers might be skulking about somewhere, too."

"Who're the Albain Brothers?" Yang asked.

"Well, they're brothers, obviously, but they're also the leaders of the Menagerie sect of the White Fang," Blake explained. "Corsac and Fennec are probably the most charismatic members in the organization. The two of them have convinced countless Faunus to both join the White Fang and sacrifice themselves for the cause with their grandiose speeches." The cat Faunus frowned. "If they are here, then they're probably the ones who convinced High Leader Khan to send the White Fang to Beacon in the first place, because agreeing to work with a human to search a Grimm-infested ruin for a supposed relic doesn't seem like something Adam would willingly agree to himself."

"Well, they certainly sound crafty," Weiss said with a nod. "They would do well in Atlesian politics. What about their combat capabilities? If Jaune were to face them, would he be in any danger?"

"Well, that's the tricky part," Blake admitted. "They definitely have more skill than a Grunt and even a Sentry, but since they're mostly interested in giving speeches, they are not as good at fighting, though Corsac is a little better than Fennec. However, the two are hardly ever separate from one another, so it would probably be a two-on-one fight. Jaune might have his work cut out for him."

"Well, I wouldn't worry," Pyrrha told her. "Jaune has proven he can handle multiple opponents several times now. I'm sure he could defeat them without too much trouble."

"And that is if they are even at Beacon in the first place," Ren pointed out. "The Albain Brothers sound more like men who prefer to plot from the shadows than get their hands dirty themselves."

"Well, there's only one way to find out!" Nora declared, before pointing at their host. "Come on, Abe! What's taking so long?"

"Hey, I wasn't the one talking!" Abe said defensively, as he selected the next episode, entitled "Of Foxes and Swords," and pressed play.

The episode began with Jaune making his way down the staircase leading to the dormitory's first floor. Once he reached the bottom, he simply continued onward, passing by the rows of broken doorways to make his way back to the elevator leading up to the Headmaster's office. From the darkness surrounding him, it was evident the power was still out.

"Come on, doesn't the White Fang have an electrician in its ranks?" the Huntsman grumbled. "Though it wouldn't really matter if the power's on or not anyway, since I still don't have a keycard. I wonder if that Jester creep was telling the truth when he pointed me towards the cafeteria..."

"I don't blame him for being skeptical," Pyrrha stated. "I wouldn't trust someone like that either..."

"Well, it's better than nothing," Ruby said with a shrug. "Even if there aren't any other White Fang guys in the lunch room, some student could've lost their keycard down there, right?"

From the Headmaster's office, Jaune headed back into the amphitheater where he had defeated the Omega Beowolf, then out the broken double doors that had been blown open by Ruby back into the courtyard. The Huntsman took in his surroundings, grimacing at the corpses of White Fang Grunts littering the ground around him. At that moment, a familiar voice broke the silence.

"Thanks for believing in me, lad. And welcome to hell!" Jester's voice echoed throughout the courtyard. Jaune flinched, and looked around, but the demented clown was nowhere to be seen. "Please accept my gift," Jester's voice crooned. "Don't be humble, just take it. Afterall, we are buddies aren't we... Hahaahahaaha!"

"Ugh! That laugh is so creepy!" Weiss shuddered.

"A gift, huh?" Yang mused. "Why do I get the feeling Jaune's not gonna like it?"

Ear-piercing screeches filled the air, causing Jaune to look up at the sky, which had now darkened and started to fill with stars. Swooping down from above were three raven-like Grimm, with wingspans four times as long their man-sized bodies and bone-plated heads with four beady red eyes each. The Huntsman shook his head ruefully as the trio of Nevermore surrounded him, snapping their beaks and clasping their talons together threateningly.

"Well, isn't that special," Jaune scoffed. "To be honest, I'm expecting something a little better than this."

"Ha! Fearless Leader can handle those birdbrains, no sweat!" Nora declared. "He already killed one of those during Initiation!"

"Nora, Team RWBY slew the Nevermore. We fought the Death Stalker, remember?" Ren reminded her.

"Bah! Potato, tomato."

One of the Nevermore let out a shriek, then dive-bombed Jaune, its talons extended out to snatch him up. In response, the Huntsman rolled out of the way, then unholstered Ebony and Ivory as he came up into a crouch, before putting a dozen bullets into the raven Grimm's back. The Nevermore screeched in pain, then flew upwards, putting some distance between itself and Jaune. Another of the winged Grimm was quick to keep up the attack, snapping its wings forward hard enough to hurl several large feathers towards the Huntsman, sharpened quills first. Jaune quickly deployed his shield and used it to block the projectiles. A second later, he was forced to dive forwards as the third Nevermore attempted to land on top of him, then continued to roll as its giant beak slammed into the cobblestones behind him. The Huntsman came up in a crouch, pivoting into a slice with Crocea Mors that connected with the raven Grimm's neck, but only managed to leave a superficial wound.

"Dang," Jaune grunted. "I guess an ordinary sword isn't going to cut it against these guys. Heh, blade joke. If Yang could see me now," he chuckled humorously, holding his shield out in front of him again as the Nevermore beat its wings, pushing him backwards.

"Hey! It looks like my sense of humor is rubbing off on Vomit Boy!" Yang said with a grin. The rest of the Beacon Academy students groaned as they realized what that meant.

"This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!" Weiss grimaced.

As the gust of wind continued to push Jaune backwards, another Nevermore took the chance to swoop down on him while he was distracted, clamping its talons around his waist, causing his Aura to flash, and pulling him into the air, before attempting to snap its beak around his head.

"Watch out, Jaune!" Blake called.

At the last second, Jaune managed to jam his shield into the Nevermore's mouth, keeping its beak pinned open and allowing him to use his other hand to jam Ivory down the raven Grimm's throat, firing off four shots that tore through the back of its head. With a raspy croak, the Nevermore released the Huntsman, who fell into a tumble, managing to spring back up to his feet, though his Aura flashed lightly. Behind him, the raven Grimm landed flat on its back and promptly burst into a huge puff of smoke.

"One down, two to go," Jaune commented, watching as the other two Nevermore circled above him. "But I sure am waiting around to grab me first!" With a twirl, the Huntsman holstered Ivory before whipping out Neon's nunchaku in one fluid motion. "Let's see if these birdbrains can stand some frost in their feathers!"

"Smart thinking, Jaune!" Pyrrha praised. "If Grimm are resistant to conventional weaponry, elemental attacks are usually a safer bet!"

"Man, these episodes are great!" Ruby cheered. "I love seeing Jaune put those nunchaku to use!"

One of the remaining Nevermore let out another shriek before swooping down, lobbing a second volley of feathers at Jaune, who dove forwards, allowing the sharpened quills to sail harmlessly overhead. In response, the Huntsman spun Neon's nunchaku around and snapped one the rod forward, causing an icicle to burst from the weapon and sink into the raven Grimm's chest. Jaune repeated this process three more times, turning the Nevermore's chest into a pin cushion. With a pained squawk, the flying Grimm was forced to land, though it stomped forward as soon as it did to try and attack the Huntsman again. As its beak snapped forward, Jaune quickly swung the nunchaku down on top of its masked face, freezing the Nevermore's head solid.

"How's that brain freeze treating you?" the Huntsman quipped. "Don't worry, I've got the remedy right here!" He leaped into a drop kick, both of his feet smashing into the raven Grimm's frozen head, which shattered like glass. As the Nevermore's body sagged and burst into smoke, Jaune landed on his side, then kicked back up onto his feet.

"Way to go, Jaune!" Nora cheered. "Only one to go!"

The last Nevermore screeched with rage, then swung around, its talons outstretched to grab Jaune. The Huntsman quickly sidehopped out of the way, then sent two icicles piercing into the raven Grimm's back as it rushed by. With a piercing cry, the Nevermore twisted its body, quickly turning to face Jaune again, before zooming downwards, attempting to land atop him. The Huntsman merely leapt into a backflip, avoiding the large Grimm as it smashed into the courtyard hard enough to leave a crater in the cobble stone. Rushing forward, Jaune twirled Neon's nunchaku, then rapidly struck the Nevermore in the chest, encasing its belly in ice. Then the Huntsman brought a fist back, charging it up with Aura.

"And POW!" Jaune declared, punching the raven Grimm so hard that its stomach practically exploded into ice shards. The Nevermore let out a dying shriek, then slumped and fell on its side, before bursting into smoke.

"Now that was a punch!" Yang stated, a huge smile on her face. "I've got to try that sometime!"

"Sure thing, sis!" Ruby said, getting excited. "Maybe you and Weiss could attempt that the next time you guys do Freezerburn..."

"Can we get back to the show, please?" Weiss asked, not wanting to listen to her leader go on yet another tangent about team attacks.

"Well, that was fun," Jaune chuckled, waving his hand to dull the stinging sensation from the punch. "Now, where was the cafeteria, again? I seem to remember it being to the east..." Still musing to himself, the Huntsman began to make his way in said direction, leaving the courtyard behind him.

The scene cut to Jaune standing outside the entrance to Beacon's gothic dining hall, staring at the closed set of double doors that remained steadfast even five years later. Right next to them was a gaping hole in the stone wall, so the Huntsman elected to enter through that instead.

"Sheesh, mahogany is a pretty sturdy wood, isn't it?" Nora remarked, a little impressed.

"I wonder what could be strong enough to smash through stone like that," Pyrrha said cautiously. "Moreover, how violent it would have to be to go for a solid wall rather than the thinner doors..."

Inside the dining hall, Jaune found the large room to be in complete disarray. Many tables and chairs had been scattered all across the floor, some in pieces, while more had to been set up as barricades against the now mostly shattered windows of the building. From the amount of damage on the ground, it was evident Grimm had been in here, although in spite of this, there was a complete lack of Grimm to be seen. As the Huntsman continued his way through the darkened dining hall, it became evident why that was. A humanoid shape stood waiting for him in the center of the cafeteria, a huge, bushy tail flicking behind him in anticipation.

"Look, brother," the fox Faunus crooned as Jaune approached him. "It took him forever, but our anticipated guest finally arrived."

"Well, there's Corsac," Blake said, sniffing with distaste. "Fennec cannot be far off, then."

"I can see that," another voice commented, as a second fox Faunus -this one sporting a pair of light brown ears that protruded from his red hood- appeared out of the shadows.

"We must entertain our guest," Corsac declared, his fox tail flicking again as he cracked his knuckles, a sneer beginning to stretch across his face.

"You're right," Fennec said with a nod, chuckling mirthlessly. "We must be gracious hosts."

"So are those the Albain brothers?" Ruby asked Blake. Seeing the cat Faunus nod, she stroked her chin thoughtfully. "Well, you were certainly right about them having a way with words. They sound like a couple of comic book villains!"

"They don't look like much, though," Nora said. "I mean, they're dressed almost identically to White Fang Sentries, and Jaune beat one of those guys no problem!"

"Looks can be deceiving, Nora," Ren reminded his teammate. "Jaune should not underestimate them."

As the Albain Brothers closed in on Jaune, the Huntsman sighed and slumped his shoulders.

"Oh dear, brother, our guest is sighing," Corsac lamented, going so far to make his tail sag in faux-disappointment.

"How concerning," Fennec said without a hint of actual concern. "What is wrong, Mr. Arc? Do you not enjoy our attempt at small talk?"

"Okay, their pretentiousness is getting old really quick," Pyrrha grumbled, green eyes narrowing in frustration.

"Agreed. It is obvious a fight is about to commence, why delay the inevitable?" Weiss demanded.

"Look, gentlemen, I'd love nothing more than to simply talk things out with you, but I need a keycard that one of you has on him, so I can go confront our mutual friend Taurus," Jaune told the twin fox Faunus tiredly. "I think it's safe to say you're not just going to hand it over to me, right?" At this, the Albain Brothers shared a knowing smirk.

"Apologies, Mr. Arc, but Adam does not need you alive for his plans to succeed," Corsac told the Huntsman, before pulling out a black scimitar with red runic markings. He gave the weapon a twirl, causing its curved blade to burst into flame.

"That is right. I am afraid you have just set foot inside your tomb," Fennec added, before unsheathing a metallic blue scimitar with white tunic markings. A quick flip of his blade, and the curved sword was surrounded by a small vortex of wind. Jaune shook his head, then deployed his shield and unsheathed Crocea Mors.

"Come on, Jaune!" Yang called. "Sock it to 'em!"

Corsac attacked first, spinning into a slash that sent a wave of fire towards Jaune, who held his shield out in front to block the blazing projectile. The Huntsman was quick to leap on the offense, causing the clang of metal to fill the air as Crocea Mors clashed against the fox Faunus's scimitar. The two traded blows for a couple seconds, and then Corsac brought his hands up overhead to try and bring his scimitar down upon Jaune's head. His attack was heavily telegraphed, however, allowing the Huntsman to spring to the side, out of harm's way. As Corsac slammed his scimitar into the ground, the force behind his blow causing him to drop into a kneel, Jaune used his chance to drive his boot into the side of the fox Faunus's head, sending him tumbling away.

"My turn," Fennec's voice crooned, before his scimitar came spinning towards the Huntsman, a small cyclone surrounding it. Jaune rolled under the attack, watching as the curved sword arced back around to return to its owner, but was unprepared for another attack from Corsac, who drove his fist into the Huntsman's jaw, before using the flat of his scimitar to shove Jaune away, Aura rippling around his head.

"Hey! That was dirty!" Nora stated crossly.

"It is already a two-on-one fight," Weiss pointed out. "I highly doubt the Albain Brothers had any intentions of fighting fairly.

Corsac was quick to keep up his attack, swinging his scimitar in swift but precise strikes that forced Jaune to use both sword and shield to defend against. After a few seconds of a brutal onslaught, the fox Faunus twirled his scimitar, causing the blade to be set aflame again, before flipping into another heavy downwards strike. Sensing danger, the Huntsman backflipped away himself, narrowly avoiding both the initial attack and the small explosion of fire that burst up in front of Corsac as his scimitar connected with the ground once again. Seizing his chance, Jaune rushed forward into another kick, this time bringing his foot up into the fox Faunus's face like he was kicking a ball. The attack sent Corsac skidding across the dining hall floor on his back.

"Mind if I join in again?" Fennec asked, hanging back to send heavy gusts at Jaune with his scimitar, keeping the Wind Dust inside constantly excited by spinning the weapon around in his hand.

"Dang, these guys are pretty good," Yang begrudgingly admitted.

"Is this how they fight in our world?" Ruby asked Blake. The cat Faunus shook her head.

"No, their weapons are completely different, more akin to a cross between wands and daggers. Although the Dust inside them is the same, ironically enough..."

Jaune used his shield to block the brunt of Fennec's wind attacks, though the force behind them still pushed him back as they smashed against him. The Huntsman grimaced, glancing out of the corner of his eye to see Corsac slowly getting back up on his feet.

"I guess he's more comfortable with close-quarters combat than his brother is," Jaune determined. "Well then, if wind guy is gonna hang back, then I'll just bring the fight to him!" He focused Aura around his hand, causing it to ripple around the blade of Crocea Mors. Then the Huntsman swung his sword downwards, causing a wave of white energy to launch from the weapon and connect with Fennec, knocking the fox Faunus on his back. "That oughta buy me a few seconds," Jaune said with a grin, turning to face Corsac just in time to block a spin into a sideways strike with a flaming scimitar. The blast of fire pushed the two men away from each other, though the Huntsman quickly rolled forward to smash his shield into the fox Faunus's head, before sweeping Corsac's legs out from under him.

"Don't stop, Jaune!" Pyrrha cheered. "Keep the pressure on him!"

"Yeah, break his legs!" Nora called.

Corsac groaned as he rolled away from Jaune, spinning into sweep kick that the Huntsman hopped over. The fox Faunus pushed himself up off the ground, bringing his scimitar up in a rising slash. Jaune, however, simply knocked the curved blade aside with his shield, before dragging his sword across Corsac's chest, causing Aura to ripple across the fox Faunus's torso. The Huntsman followed with a thrust kick that sent Corsac stumbling backwards. A second later, though, Jaune hissed in pain, Aura rippling over his back as Fennec -who had gotten back up and closed the distance while his brother had provided a distraction- dragged his scimitar down the Huntsman's spine.

"Ah," Ren winced, betraying a hint of emotion for a change, "That looked painful."

Jaune quickly brought his left arm back, slamming his shield headfirst into Fennec's head, causing the fox Faunus to stagger, clutching his head as stood their dazed. Corsac was quick to charge in to attack, but the Huntsman focused more Aura into his sword hand, then pirouetted into a sideways slash, causing a circle of white energy to burst out around him in a small circumference. Corsac was quick to defend with his scimitar, but his brother was still stunned, and thus was sent spiraling away.

"You'll pay for that, Arc!" Corsac growled, taking his scimitar in both hands and swinging it heavily. Jaune was forced to block as the fox Faunus's blows hammered upon his shield with heavy clangs, forcing him to one knee, though this did give the Huntsman an opportunity to jab at Corsac's guts with Crocea Mors. The fox Faunus sprang backward a couple times to put some distance between himself and Jaune, then twirled his scimitar, igniting its blade once more, then launched another wave of fire at the Huntsman, who ducked under the attack.

"Allow me, brother," Fennec crooned, twirling his own scimitar and launching a gust of wind at Jaune, who rolled out of the way. Fennec continued to twirl his blade, then brought it up overhead and hurled it at the Huntsman. Jaune was quick to knock the weapon away with his shield, causing it to start spinning erratically around the dining hall.

"Yikes," Yang said, chuckling nervously. "It's like the world's sharpest flying toy."

As Fennec's scimitar spun off in the distance, the fox Faunus quickly darted forward, maneuvering around behind Jaune and wrapping his arms around the Huntsman's neck.

"I've got him!" Fennec declared as he started to apply pressure to his chokehold. "Quickly, brother! Finish him off!"

"With pleasure," Corsac said with a grin, brandishing his scimitar as he rushed towards the two.

"That's cheating!" Ruby said, her cheeks puffing out indignantly.

"Get out of there, Jaune!" Blake cried.

Jaune grit his teeth as he held he brought both of his legs up to kick Corsac in the chest, sending his would-be attacker falling backwards even as the Huntsman and Fennec tumbled to the ground. Jaune used his chance to break free of the fox Faunus's chokehold and spring back up onto his feet. Fennec was quick to follow suit, launching a punch at the Huntsman's face, only for his fist to smash against Jaune's shield instead.

"Not so tough without your weapon, are you?" the Huntsman asked as the fox Faunus screamed in pain and clutched his wrist. "Just stay down this time, would you?" Jaune struck Fennec across the face, causing the fox Faunus to spin around as his Aura shattered, before he was sent stumbling forwards as the Huntsman kicked him in the back. Unfortunately, this put him right in the path of his scimitar, which was spinning right towards him like a flying buzzsaw. All Fennec could do was hold up his hands and scream before his own weapon sliced right through his neck. The scimitar finally clattered to the ground, where it was joined a second later by its owner's head, while the body slowly fell to its knees and then onto its side, blood spraying from the stump that had been a neck just moments prior.

There was a moment of silence as the students stared at the screen in shock.

"Oh, shit..." Yang swore.

"Th-That was an accident, right?" Weiss asked, looking a little queasy.

"It has to be!" Pyrrha exclaimed. "Jaune would never do something like that on purpose!"

Jaune froze as the reality of what had happened sank in

"No!" the Huntsman croaked, staring down at Fennec's headless corpse. "I didn't mean to-"

"FENNEC! NOOO!!!" Corsac screamed, eyes wide and full of horrified terror. He turned towards Jaune, and lost what little composure he had left. "YOU! YOU KILLED MY BROTHER! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU!!!" And with that, the fox Faunus howled in fury and charged at Jaune, twirling his scimitar in both hands as he leaped in the air. All the Huntsman could do was dive away from the explosion of fire as Corsac landed, doing his best to put some distance between the two. Eyes wild, the fox Faunus shot his left arm forward to snatch up his brother's blade. "AAARC!!!" Corsac roared, brandishing both scimitar was he glared at Jaune with pure hatred.

"Oh, that's not good..." Nora gulped, eyes wide.

Corsac shot forward, launching a flurry of attacks with both scimitars at Jaune, who was barely able to keep up with onslaught. Finally, he managed to catch both of the scimitars on his shield, and attempted to speak to the fox Faunus.

"Corsac, I wasn't trying to-"

"SHUT UP!!!" Corsac bellowed, pulling his blades off the Huntsman's shield, before twirling them both and unleashing a wave of fiery wind that sent Jaune skidding backwards. The fox Faunus was instantly on top of him again, dropping into another sweep kick that sent the Huntsman sprawling, as Crocea Mors clattered out of his hand. Corsac was quick to straddle Jaune, hammering both scimitars down on the Huntsman repeatedly, who did his best to shield himself, though his Aura flashed with every hit. "Die! DIE! DIE!!!" the fox Faunus howled.

"He's gonna kill Jaune!" Ruby gasped, her face pale with terror.

"Fight back, Vomit Boy! Fight back!" Yang demanded, her lilac eyes turning red.

"Get... off!" Jaune snarled, punching Corsac in the face with an Aura-enhanced fist, sending the fox Faunus tumbling off. The Huntsman rolled backwards and tossed his shield aside, before whipping out Neon's nunchaku again. "It was an accident, Corsac! And you two were trying to kill me! Just stand down, or I'll beat you into submission instead!"

"HA HA HA!" Corsac cackled, clearly not thinking clearly anymore. "SUBMISSION?! SO YOU FINALLY SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS! DIE, YOU OPPRESSIVE PIECE OF SHIT!" He lunged at Jaune with a slice from his scimitar, only for it to be intercepted by the nunchaku's chain. The Huntsman struck the fox Faunus in the face with one rods, then spun out of the way from a follow-up attack with Fennec's blade, catching Corsac across the jaw with a second blow. Shrieking in outrage, the fox Faunus twirled both scimitars in his hands, then slammed them down on the ground, creating a huge explosion of fire and wind, but Jaune simply held his arms across his face to shield himself from the heat, using Aura to enhance his legs and stand his ground, before vaulting over Corsac and using the nunchaku to pull the fox Faunus into a suplex with a loud slam.

"Oof! I felt that," Pyrrha winced, remembering one of her opponents during her third Mistral Regional Tournament.

"Keep it up, Jaune. Do not hold back," Ren said severely.

"You... you bastard!" Corsac slurred, still dizzy from the blow even as rolled away from Jaune. "I'll... I'll KILL YOU!" He spun into a double sideways slash, only for the Huntsman to backflip away, spinning Neon's nunchaku as he did so, allowing him to launch a pair of icicles from the excited rods. The projectiles slammed into the fox Faunus's chest, causing his Aura to flicker heavily. Still, Corsac charged forward, twirling his brother's scimitar and hurling it at Jaune, who ducked under the attack. The fox Faunus was quick to try and catch the Huntsman with a downwards slash from his own blade, but Jaune caught the attack with his nunchaku, before shoving the weapon away and freezing Corsac's legs to the ground, then knocked aside Fennec's scimitar as it spun back towards him.

"He's got Corsac trapped!" Blake declared.

"Come on, Jaune, finish him off!" Ruby pleaded.

Corsac seethed with rage, before twirling his scimitar and raising it overhead.

"DIEEE!!!" he screamed, trying to swing his scimitar down onto Jaune. The Huntsman simply blocked the attack, using the ice Dust of Neon's nunchaku to nullify the fire. Jaune shoved the weapon away, then grabbed the fox Faunus by the shirt and rapidly striking him in the face by spinning the rod into his head. He finished with an Aura-enhanced uppercut that launched Corsac into the air hard enough that the ice trapping the fox Faunus's legs shattered. Corsac landed on his back, his Aura shattering. The fox Faunus tried to rise, but found he could not, leaving him to simply lift his head and stare at the Huntsman in fear.

"It's over, Corsac," Jaune stated flatly. "Give up." The fox Faunus groaned, then chuckled feebly.

"You're right," he said. "You beat me. But you'll never defeat Adam. He will collect his birthright, and bring honor to the White Fang. I only lament that I will not be there to witness it." And with that, Corsac brought his scimitar up, took it in both hands, and plunged it into his chest. A dying gasp escaped his lips as he went still.

Ruby whimpered and covered her eyes.

"Okay, but why, though?" Nora demanded, disturbed and confused.

"Fennec and Corsac always said they'd rather die than be locked away by the Kingdoms," Blake said, shaking her head. "I guess that was just his way of guaranteeing that."

Jaune shook his head, disgusted at the needless loss of life.

"You're wrong, Corsac," he told the corpse in front of him. "I will stop Adam. But you will be there to witness that." He stooped down and picked up Fennec's scimitar, which was laying by his feet. Then he walked forward and pulled Corsac's weapon out of his chest, grimacing at the blood covering the blade. With both scimitars in hands, the Huntsman closed his eyes and focused. Two balls of white light slowly rose from the bodies of the twin fox Faunus, before heading towards their respective weapons and being absorbed into the blades. Jaune nodded, before sliding the scimitars behind his back to hang from his belt, then stooped again to fish through Corsac's clothes, smiling as he found what he had originally come here for- a Beacon Student ID, belonging to one Iris Marilla. With his objective complete, the Huntsman turned and exited the cafeteria. The episode ended.

There was another pause as the students processed all that they had just seen. Finally, Weiss held up a finger.

"I have SEVERAL questions..."

~GRIMM MAY CRY~

"Hey, Jauney Boy, whatcha doin'?" Cardin asked as he stumbled upon Jaune, who was staring into Team RWBY's room nervously. The bigger boy paused as his eyes fell upon the singularity in the middle of the dorm. "Monty Oum, what the hell is that?!" he demanded.

"I don't know!" Jaune yelped. "It's like this- this weird portal or something! I think it sucked up both my team and Ruby's, and now Headmaster Ozpin, Ms. Goodwitch, and this dude that smelled like booze and said he was Ruby's uncle all just jumped in after them!"

"Hold up: did you just say the Headmaster and Good-bitch just jumped into that thing?" Cardin asked Jaune, who nodded frantically. A sly grin spread across the larger boy's face. "You know what that means, right?"

"N-No..." Jaune said.

"Nobody's around to enforce the rules, Jauney Boy! Come on, let's go spread the news! You and I are gonna be the most popular kids in Beacon after word gets out that we can do whatever we want without any fear of comeuppance until further notice!" Cardin wrapped his arm around Jaune's shoulders, and dragged him away from the dorm room. The smaller student gulped.

"I have a bad feeling about this..."
