TWELVE

"I already told you to expect me every weekend since we stay in the same estate and today I came with Dera and Tomiwa."

"Surprise!" The duo shouted before revealing theirselves, Tife was taller than them so it was easy for them to hide behind her.

A grin broke on Mimi's face, the first time she'd been able to smile since morning, coming back from the therapy session today, all she did was wallow in her thoughts, the questions the therapist had asked had brought back the memories and it was apparent she would have to resume her sleepless night that's if it isn't accompanied by bad dreams.

"Won't allow us to come in?" Dera's chirpy voice said and Mimi opened the door widely and they all trooped in.

"You have your room here right?" Tife questioned while looking around the cozy living room, she'd never been to any of the chalet houses, she never had any cause to.

Looking at it now, it was a beautiful house though it was somehow small but it was cozy, the living room wasn't up to half of her room but the coziness and warm feeling in it made up for that, entering Mimi's room, it was just the same size as the living room, well, it was just an holiday house.

"You have a nice room," Dera complimented before sitting on the only couch in the room while Tomiwa sat on the wooden chair, they were the only chairs in the room so Tife had to sit on the bed with Mimi, it was actually a queen-sized bed.

"Isn't that Christian's drawing?" Tomiwa pointed at the painting on the wall and the others swung their gaze to the wall before turning back to Mimi who shrugged then she picked her pen and jotter.

I picked it from my mom's room so, I don't know if it's his.

"It is, that's his signature under," Tife claimed and Mimi creased her brows before standing up to take a look at the signature, ever since she'd been looking at the painting, she never noticed any signature.

"What of your siblings?" Dera questioned after some seconds and Mimi turned back to her.

Lara is in the room while Fara and Lola went down to Mirabel's place with Christy.

"Really? Are they that close?" Tomiwa inquired and Dera laughed loudly.

"A replacement to Benita actually," Tife explained and Tomiwa nodded, he thought as much, Christy never related with anyone except her friends.

"So, what did they go there for? It can't just be a visit, Christy would never take them along," Dera finally stopped laughing.

I think it's to discuss about Mirabel's birthday or something.

Dera and Tife clapped simultaneously.

"It's Mirabel's birthday next week, it would surely be an elaborate one," Tife said.

"Of course, someone that loves throwing party before, it's another time to show off," Dera added with a hiss.

"You know sometimes I do wonder if she's really Miss Miracle's younger sister, they seem so different," Tomiwa voiced out and others nodded.

They shifted from the topic to another before Mimi offered them the sausage rolls she and her mother had baked earlier in the morning before she left for the boutique. Yeah, Sindara now worked at one of Maple's numerous boutique after convincing Lisha so many times.

"Hmmm, this is heavenly," Dera moaned and the others laughed before Mimi served them some drinks.

"Thanks," Tomiwa said and Mimi smiled in return before going back to the bed.

They moved to another topic again and Mimi smiled. She was really grateful they visited her, her foul mood had changed to a better one and her mind didn't go down memory lane but then she knew it would surely come back when they leave.

"Mimi!" Fara and Lola called as they barged into the room, they stopped on their tracks immediately they met with the gazes of Tife, Dera and Tomiwa.

"Hi," they greeted in unison and the trio replied concurrently.

"We'll come back," Fara said before dragging Lola out of the room.

Tife wanted to talk but the blaring of Dera's loud ringtone stopped her. They all fixed their gaze on her as she conversed with whoever it was for some seconds.

"I have to go home," Dera announced immediately she dropped the call.

Others exchanged glances before Tife talked, "Is anything wrong?"

"No," she replied quickly before picking her small bag while Tife scrunched her brows, she didn't believe Dera.

"Bye," Dera rushed out of the room without waiting for their response.

"I think there's something wrong," Tomiwa voiced out.

"I agree," Tife said and Mimi nodded in agreement.

Tomiwa opened his mouth to talk but the sound from the phone stopped him, glancing at his phone he realized it was Christy.

"It's Chtisty," he announced while Mimi and Tife shared a look.

"Maybe Fara or Lola told her you're here, it's better you go to her now before she comes here to display her crazy attitude," Tife hissed and Tomiwa frowned at her before sliding his phone into his pockets.

"I've got to go," Tomiwa rose to his feet and Tife smiled sheepishly.

"Extend my greetings to her oo," she shouted in a sarcastic tone while Tomiwa ignored her as he left.

"So, it remains the two of us," Tife stated and Mimi nodded.

"Ehn, I have to see Christian, the stupid math assignment is giving me problem, have you done yours?"

Mimi shook her head. She didn't even remember any assignments.

"Let's go," Tife rose to her feet before pulling Mimi's hand.

Mimi gave her a questioning look then she replied, "Let's go to Christian, he should explain the assignment to us or do you know it?"

She shook her head before Tife talked , "Then, let's go," not waiting for her protest, Tife dragged Mimi out of the house.

Mimi sighed softly when they got to the front of what she believed to be Christian's room, she'd never been to any other part of the mansion except the living room, presit and dining which were all downstairs. She admired the house again before she heard the sound of the door opening.

"Tife," Christian called in surprise before his eyes met with Mimi.

"What are you doing here?"

Though the question was directed at Mimi but Tife responded," So, I can't visit my cousin again abi?" She pushed him out of the way and dragged Mimi into his room.

Christian chuckled before closing the door.

"So, your reason? You don't visit unless you have a problem mostly with school work," Christian said as he walked back to his study chair.

Tife rolled her eyes before dragging Mimi who had been standing and staring at the paintings and drawings on the wall to sit by her.

Tife pursed her lips before replying, "Anyway, Mimi and I don't understand our Maths assignment so, we came here for your help."

Mimi scowled at Tife and she shrugged.

"I thought as much," Christian swirled his chair and his eyes met with Mimi who wore an expressionless look.

"So, which number?"

"Everything," Tife blurted and Christian raised his brows.

"Not even one, what were you doing in class when Mr. Benji was explaining?"

"Admiring him," Tife replied and Christian shook his head while Mimi smiled.

"You were admiring him instead of listening?"

Tife shrugged, "That man is too cute not to admire, it's just a pity that he has eyes for Miracle, do you think Miracle likes him too?"

Christian sighed, "I don't know, Miracle has her own boyfriend."

Tife's eyes widened, "Really? How did you know? Who is he?"

Christian slumped his shoulders, " I don't know, I just heard Mirabel and Christy discussing about it."

A wide smile appeared on Tife's face while Mimi puckered her brows.

"He doesn't do small girls like you, so, forget it," Christian said and Tife glared at him.

"Who told you I want to date him, huh, he's too old for me," she groaned and Mimi smiled.

"Good thing you know that, I'm actually doing the assignment now, so, it'll be better if you come here," he swirled his chair back and Tife got up.

Turning back to Mimi who sat rooted on the chaise lounge, she dashed her a questioning look and Mimi looked away, understanding that she didn't want to go, Tife pulled her up and dragged her to Christian, she even pulled out a chair for her to sit while Mimi glared at her.
