TWENTY FOUR

Just like that, three days went by and school resumed. Mimi got down from the car, looked around her surroundings and inhaled, she had mixed feelings about the resumption but looking at the brighter side, she would get to see Tife and Dera whom she'd missed so much.

"Mimi," someone screamed. Mimi needed no one tell her it was Dera.

She turned back swiftly only to come in contact with Dera's pretty face before Dera drew her in for a bone crushing hug.

"Damn, I so much missed you," she uttered and Mimi smiled before they both headed to the class.

On getting to the class, it was somehow rowdy and students kept on sharing their experience during the break, they walked towards their seat and Tife who had been in class before then jumped on them immediately she sighted them.

"I missed you guys a whole lot," she confessed with a grin.

"We missed you too," Dera replied and they laughed before settling down.

"So, how was the break?" Tife turned to Mimi, "I tried reaching you but your phone wasn't reachable, I even tested you on WhatsApp but you didn't reply..."

"Same here too oo, what happened?" Dera chipped in.

Mimi removed her pen and jotter from her pocket

I lost my phone

She lied. Truth is she'd intentionally uninstalled her WhatsApp and switched off her phone most times because of Alex's disturbance.

"Oh, I hope you've gotten a new one?" Tife questioned and Mimi nodded.

"So, how was the break? I hope you guys enjoyed it because I enjoyed mine oo," Dera flipped her hair.

Tife wriggled her brows, " Hmm, Dera, tell me something I don't know."

Dera chuckled before readjusting her sitting position, "So, guys, you won't believe this?" She glanced at Mimi and Tife who were more than attentive to her.

"Believe what oo?"

Dera grinned.

"Hmm, this one that you're grinning yii," Tife teased.

"Oh, I've got to grin, can you believe I came across my crush in the States?"

Tife and Mimi exchanged looks.

"Really?" Tife asked in amusement.

Dera bobbed her head, "Yeah and our holiday house is just beside each other, I wonder how he even noticed me, the first time we met and he mentioned my name, I almost fainted."

"Typical you," Tife commented.

"We literally spent the whole break together, we became more close till he confessed his feelings to me."

"He did?" Tife asked in surprise as Mimi's eyes widened.

Dera cocked her head, "Yeah, he did, we are officially a couple."

"Awwwn, since when?" Tife cooed.

"Since last week, gosh, he's so sweet and everything," Dera gushed.

Mimi rolled her eyes while Tife smirked. They went on discussing about how they spent their break till Miss Miracle sauntered in.

*************

"Hey babe," the most irritating voice she didn't want to hear whispered into her ears and she shuddered.

Looking around her surroundings, she felt self conscious, for goodness sake, why didn't she have any interest in Dera's new found boyfriend? Why didn't she go with them to visit him? Why did she tell them to go ahead? Now she was left alone with this monster.

"Babe," he tickled her and she felt disgusted by the act, increasing her pace she headed towards the female toilet, at least students would be around them, now she questioned why their class toilet wasn't close to the building.

"Why did you block me?" He grabbed her hand and she jerked it away that instant and increased her pace.

He grabbed her hand again, this time it was tighter, "Don't think you can get away from me!" He thundered and she flinched, then he dragged her away while she tried so hard to get out of his grip. Where was he taking her to?

"I've been so easy on you," he thundered and Mimi's heart almost jumped out of her skin.

He dropped her hand abruptly and she looked around while wondering where they were, she'd never been to this part of the school, not like she knew every place in the school but the place seemed somehow secluded.

"Let me bring you out of your thoughts, this is the school's shrubbery and no one visits here, like who would have interest here when we have the love garden but don't worry, when you cooperate you and I will start going to the love garden," he ended it with a laughter and she wondered how a maniac like him was still in school when he ought be in the psychiatric hospital.

Noticing he was still laughing, she picked up her pace in an attempt to run away but he pulled her back by her braids; one she'd just plaited few days back due to her mother's insistence.

Pain coursed through her and he kept on pulling her hair, "I won't leave you until you agree to be my girlfriend," he said and Mimi glared at him, he pulled her again and she squeezed her eyes shut in pain.

"Now, say you'll be mine!" He bellowed as his grip on her hair tightened, Mimi gritted her teeth.

"Oh, I've forgotten you can't talk, you're going to write it this time and even sign it," he pulled her with her hair to the only bench chair in the shrubbery.

Rummaging through her pocket which Mimi found uncomfortable and tried slapping his hand away which in turn earned her a slap from him, he finally brought out her jotter and pen. Dropping them on her laps, a sly smile appeared on his face as his eyes made four with Mimi who glared daggers at him.

"You're so breathtaking when you frown," he commented and Mimi rolled her eyes.

"And you're irresistible too," he added before lowering his head to meet with hers, Mimi knew what he was up to so, she quickly moved her head, he threw his head to the back and laughed like the maniac he was while Mimi wondered if he was possessed.

She made to stand up but he pushed her back angrily, grabbing her neck in annoyance and ignoring her pained look, he lowered his head with a smirk dancing on his lips, finally, he would have a taste of her.

"What are you doing?" The same person that always interrupted them questioned and Mimi sighed in relief upon seeing Christian and Michael approach them.

Alex let go of her neck and turned to the guys with a thin smile, "Christian, you're always interrupting us, it somehow seems like you're following us around, tell me, do you like my girlfriend?"

Christian scoffed, "From the look of things, I think there's something always drawing me to you, is this how you treat your girlfriend?"

Alex scoffed a laugh, "What we do in our relationship is none of your concern."

Christian and Michael clapped simultaneously.

"Mimi, let's go," Christian called and Alex turned to him.

"You can't just come here and…"

"Shut up!" Michael bellowed and Alex glared at him.

Mimi rose to her feet and walked up to Christian quickly.

"Why would you listen to him?" Alex yelled and Mimi rolled her eyes before walking away with Christian and Michael trailing behind them.

Mimi was grateful Christian or Michael didn't bring up the matter till they got to class. She headed over to her seat and Dera gave her a cursory look.

"Where are you coming from and why did you come with Christian?" Dera teased and Mimi shrugged.

"Hmmm, hope there's nothing going on sha," she wriggled her brows at Mimi who rolled her eyes.

"Dera stop bugging her jare, ehn, Mimi, we'll be starting our study session with Christian from next week oo," Tife announced and Mimi turned to her with furrowed brows.

"Can I join you guys?" Dera questioned and Tife glanced at her.

"No, you'll only be a distraction, we all know you'll prefer to die than study," Tife replied and Dera eyed her before picking the chin chin on the table.

Mimi's eyes met with Alex as she walked into the class, she averted her gaze quickly and cursed him internally. Why on earth was he pestering her? What did she ever do to him? She kept mute on Benita's matter, so, why disturb her life? From what she'd noticed, he looked like someone who was in need of a psychiatric attention and for once she hoped he'll end up as a mentally deranged person or better still a mad boy walking around the streets.
