ADELE

"Adele, I love you... with all my heart. I will never leave you just because you are more successful than I am. I will never leave you just because I can't handle you anymore. I will promise to give you the moon and the stars but I want to reach it with you beside me. I will be your home... I will be your wings... Adele Laurie Blue Adkins... will you marry me?" Simon said those words in front of my family and friends. He's down on his knees asking me to marry him. He promised to do everything I wanted to do with him. He promised not to do the things I never want him to do.

"Yes, of course Si. I will marry you." I saw how his eyes shines bright when I said yes. He jumps in joy and hugs almost everyone with us before turning again to me to put the ring on my finger as we sealed the moment with a kiss and everyone seems so happy.

"Si... I love you. Please don't ever break my heart, I don't think I can manage to fix it without you." I said almost crying. We are now dancing with the song we both love.

"Of course sunshine. You are my life." He said and he hugs me, assuring me that he'll never leave my side.

"LAU, you will be my maid of honor... you can't do this to me... why are you being like that?" My eyes are starting to water. Laura said she's not going. My wedding is in three weeks and until now she does not approve it.

"I told you, I am not going..." she said. "And I also told you my reasons... it is too early for that, when did you meet him? 6 months in total until your wedding!" she whisper-yelled at me.

"But Lau... he loves me and I love him. He fixed me when I was struggling because of Alex."

"That is my point Adele. You and Alex were living together, just the priests saying 'I now pronounce you husband and wife' was missing! For almost a year and a half you were happy and whole but you two still fell out of love! What guarantee do you have about this one?" Laura is really upset about my decision. It wasn't a secret that Simon and Laura dislikes each other.

"But Laura, Simon is a good man!" I shouted. I just couldn't control my frustrations. They are both important to me and I would love it if they get along well.

"Then, go ahead! I am not stopping you... but I will not go to your wedding!! And don't ever come to me crying one day or I will never talk to you again." Laura said crying.

"You know what Laura, I thought you're my bestfriend. You should be the one to support me. You should be happy for me." I sat on her bed and cried silently. This is painful and exhausting.

"I want you to be happy babe... and I don't think he is the right man for you...not atleast to this moment. It's too early." Laura said gently. I missed her, she's been avoiding me since the night Simon proposed.

"Please Laura, I need you... that's a special moment of my life and I want you there." I pleaded even if I know her decision is final.

"No, I can't. I've already booked myself a flight to Singapore." She said and that broke my heart.

LAURA

I watched Adele as she leave my room with a broken heart. And I am, too, had my heart broken when she didn't value my feelings.

When I marry my husband, I asked her so many times... and she agreed saying we knew him since high school and that she had learn to trust him through time.

I saw Dan, my husband, giving Adele a comforting hug as they said their goodbyes. When my bestfriend was gone, he came to me.

"I am a bad friend, you think?" I asked him as he hugged me.

"No, of course not, love... you love your friend. And you know that I have the same feeling as you towards that Simon. I just can't trust him right away." He said as a matter of fact. And that was all I needed to hear. I cried for so long until we heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it." Dan stood up and head downstairs. I fixed myself and follow him shortly. I am surprised to see who's there on my couch.

"Hey! What are you two doing here?" I asked. Dan came out from the kitchen holding a tray with three bottles of beer.

"Heeeey, that's too early." I looked at the clock and it says 10 in the morning. Dan kissed me on my lips before heading to those two.

"Someone's broken here. We need to drink with him or he can't make it tomorrow." It was Ben, pointing to Peter.

"Why is that?" I asked. But to be honest I know why. Peter is in love with Adele but he said he can't have her since he's just her bodyguard.

Speaking of bodyguard... if he's here who's with Adele?

"Wait, who's with her if you are here?" I asked worriedly.

"She's with Simon, I asked her if I could go home because I am not feeling well, she agreed so I had the day off."

"He's jealous... he felt sick seeing her with that old man." Ben teasingly said. But turned serious after a while.

"To be honest, I am not at ease with him, too. But I can't tell Adele, I'm afraid she'd get mad at me." Ben said sadly.

"Well, you are not alone... count me in and my wife. She's just here an hour ago asking Laura for the nth time to be her maid of honor, but someone got a heart of stone here." Dan says.

I slapped his chest really hard... and then I started crying again as if I was the one who got hurt.

See Adele, I am not the only one from your close friends to feel this way towards that man... but since you're mind is fix, I just wish he is the right one for you as you want him to be.

She thought.

"I don't think I could go to her wedding." I heard Peter said between drinking the beer. I knotted my forehead.

"Are you serious? You're her bodyguard." I paused and sighed. "But I am too, I booked myself to Singapore a day before her wedding." I added.

"Well, I am planning to quit my job tomorrow." He said coldly. He's getting on my nerves. What the hell is his problem, he's the coward, why does it seem to me that he's mad with Adele.

"You know what, this is your fault. If you love her, why did you let her fall in love with that man?" I snapped at him. This is his fault because he's a coward but then he's afraid of rejection as everybody does.

I was about to say sorry to him when he said something. "Well, I tried to ask her on a date but she turned me down... I also told her about how I feel but she laughed at me saying that I am not a good joker. She never believes me." He said those words crying so I come to him and comforts him.

"But what hurts the most is that... she never believes in anything I say about that man. I am her bodyguard and it is my duty to protect her but she never listen."

"What do you mean?" I asked.
