7. Accident

Shopping for groceries has become one of your favorite activities, especially on the weekends. It's nice to have some time for yourself--doing what you love just by yourself after a busy schedule. It's even better because you can just go around barefaced in loose shirt--which always more comfortable than work outfit.

Your shopping cart is already half way full with vegetables, snacks, household needs and of course not forgetting sojus. After a few weeks of traveling to film GoSe, you came home to rotten ingredients and expired frozen food. For three days you order delivery foods or just simply cook instant noodles. It took a while until you feel fully recharged to go out again. Some of the crew actively asked you out--karaoke, clubbing, eat out--but you politely said no with being sick as the excuse. Actually it's because you still feel uneasy just by imagining that there's a possibility you'll meet Jeonghan or Rena.

Thankfully the cashier wasn't too crowded. It only took about fifteen minutes to complete the payment. You put everything in the trunk of your car--already thinking about getting something from the nearest Starbucks through the drive-thru.

Just as you are about to get into your car, you can hear a woman's hysterical screams. She kept mentioning the word 'child' in between her messy words. The people around her including yourself gradually get affected and start feeling panicked even though no one really gets the point. Until one person pointed out a three-year-old child who was about to cross the road when the crossing light was still red, many cars were driving at high speed.

"PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP!" The mother screamed while running, afraid she's not gonna make it in time.

In a state of panic most people froze in place. Some also feel afraid to jump into the street. You even find it difficult to move your legs--the feeling of shock keeps holding you back.

"Move, damn it!" You feel annoyed at your own legs.

As a bus horn goes off in the air, that's when you finally run towards the kid. You're sure you've never run that fast in your life--so fast you almost feel like you're walking on air. The bus drew nearer, its wheels making a loud screeching sound alongside glimpse of thin smoke due to excessive friction caused by the sudden brakes. By the time that child is finally within your grasp, you immediately tug her into your deepest embrace, shielding her head with your hands and then throwing both of your bodies across the road--only praying that the moment you do so no vehicle hits you.

"Shit..." You tried to endure the pain all over your body once you crashed against the road.

After making sure the child is okay, you slowly let her go. Her mother ran to him, still crying hysterically.

"What the hell!" You snap but lett her embrace her daughter, "You shouldn't have taken your eyes off your kid like that!"

"I'm really sorry...!Thank you so much...!Thank you...!" She began crying again while bowing repeatedly at you.

Feeling awkward with the attention you're getting especially when people start taking pictures, you turn down mom's offer to take you to the hospital and quickly take your leave.

"Miss! Miss!" You hear the mother of the child still calling before you turn left, taking another route to return to your car.

In your car, you turn on the air conditioner to cool yourself down. You massage your shoulders gently--letting out a painful groan every time you press a certain spot. Sweat--or so you thought--trickle down the side of your forehead. With a tissue you wipe it only to find red liquid on it. You're not aware that you are bleeding from the previous impact. Now that you've realized, the pain start to kick in.

One message, two messages, three and then your phone start vibrating non-stop. The kakaotalk's notification bar keeps getting longer. From a glance you see the names of many people replying to each other--must be the production group, you thought.

"Really sorry guys.." You decide to mute the group without bothering to check the 99+ new messages, "I'll read them all on Monday."

But those plans changed when the new chat notification rang again, indicating a newly received private message.
