Liverpool 3-2 PSG

Our u19s won their version of this game 5-2 earlier.

MotM- James Milner

(He deserves a nice glass of ribena .Tormented PSG with his non-stop running, and tucked his penalty away superbly)

I like the CL ball, hopefully we'll see a lot of it again.

PSG's crowd were having a pretty wild time, did not like them having drums and wondered if they don't like their kits since no one had their shirt on.

How many corners did we have there?! Three in a row, five by about 2 minutes later, definitely double figures in the end. I swear half the game was us taking corners! It's frustrating to have so many opportunities and not score from them. Also every single time someone had their arms round Sturridge and every time the ref told them off, delaying things right from the start.

13 corners to 1, I kept wondering what the record for one sided corners is, that's how many we had.

I wasn't happy to have Sturridge in just because he's not Firmino and he does a lot of work that Sturridge just isn't going to do nor does he have the speed of the others. And they're just not used to playing with him and I didn't want any disruption. He did pretty great so I clearly need to keep writing him off so he'll keep going. As Klopp said he was everywhere today.

Like Spurs, PSG kept building up possession but then did nothing with it, mostly passing around at the back. I for one wasn't expecting that but then we were tough on them when they did try to go forward.

Sturridge managed to get between the centre-backs to head home Robertson's cross and Sturridge got to dance in the Champion's League. So happy his dance isn't actually retired.

Gini got tripped in the box, the commentators were going on about him being dramatic but also a definite penalty, why are you questioning the manner of his fall? Milner powered the ball home into the bottom right corner. Even though we've pressed loads and had all those corners and chances I'm still a bit stunned we were two up against PSG.

The ball bounces up off Robertson from a cross and Meunier volleys into the bottom corner of the net. I thought it was supposed to be off side or hoped and then the commentators spent half time saying both team's first goals were possible off sides so it's like fair enough, don't let them have another.

Salah had the ball in the back of the net but it's ruled out after Sturridge inadvertently follows through on Areola after a heavy touch. I thought it should've stood, he got the ball, he can't just make himself stop and not follow through. It should've been 3-1 then.

Sturridge almost scored TAA's cross but it just went for the keeper to gather.

He goes off so Firmino can take his place now that eye is sufficiently rested. 150th game.

The ball falls kindly to Mbappe and he puts it in the bottom corner to equalise against the run of play. It was from Salah's mistaken pass, he's been off tonight so he's off for Shaqiri.

Just when I thought enjoying Spurs losing late on was coming back to bite me. Firmino rifled the ball across goal into the bottom corner after wrong-footing the PSG defence with a clever turn. I love Firmino's celebration so much, of course he covered his eye after having it jabbed on Saturday. Salah cheered from the bench and people were trying to say he was like punching in frustration why would that be the case?!

Mane goes for Fabinho's debut. Within seconds, he concedes a foul. Welcome to Anfield!

Did we even play against Neymar, I was expecting all sorts of diving and that, only saw him when he was playing defender against Mane and Mane tricked him. Robertson, Virgil Van Dijk, Gomez and Trent Alexander Arnold kept them well quiet.

We're still winning! Champion's league 1/1, 6/6 for the season!

Next up Southampton at home, Saturday 22nd September 2018, 15:00.

Please put the bogeys to bed and make it 7. I've been cheering Danny Ings' goals, it's a weird thing to do with the team he's doing it for.
