Chapter 44

isn't an octopus just the spider of the sea?

≡Izuku POV≡

"Octopus! Cover Izu's eyes!" Kacchan yelled and Shoji did as he asked.

As soon as my eyes were covered, I heard the pops of his explosions and heat radiated from the clearing.

"Get on my back," I did as Shoji asked without complaint.

"Katsuki, get back! If you're a main target, you need to stay away!" I heard Shoto yell as I felt the air get cold.

"I'm fine, Icy Hot!"

"Shoji! Izuku!" I clutched Shoji's arms tighter as he suddenly rolled to the side after Tokoyami's voice called us.

"Hey! You're the Midoriya kid aren't you? I feel so bad for you! Hurry and run! Get over here you brat! Just come with us and no one else gets hurt!" Twice yelled as I began clutching Shoji even tighter while he dodged and attacked.

We went around, tumbling and jerking as the air was hot and cold at the same time and the sounds of everyone fighting reached me from the cocoon I was shielded in.

"Sorry to interrupt everyone," a familiar voice rang out as everyone stopped fighting. I peeked up to see a purple mist, it was Kurogiri.

"It's been 5 minutes since the signal, what's taking so long?" He asked as I assumed he looked around.

"You misty bastard!" Kacchan yelled as he launched towards him, making me duck back down.

"Now, now, let's all calm down," I peeked out again after curiosity got the best of me to see the villain on the other side of the clearing. "It's time to go."

There were 4 portals that opened up behind the villains.

"Nice fight everyone! You're all weak! I'd kick your ass if I had more time!" Twice called out.

"Bye Izuku! I'll remember you every time I look at my hands!" Toga said as she walked through.

"Who said we were saying bye? This party's just getting started."

At the sound of the voice, my body stopped working. I could feel the blood rushing through my ears and my breathing became uneven. I couldn't move, yet my body still shook as my hand moved to my hair and I sank back down into my cocoon of Shoji's arms.

"Izuku..? Are you ok?" Shoji's voice sounded so far away, I could barely hear it.

"Oh, where is he? I'd love to see him. It's been, how long? 5 years?"

"You bastard! Like I'd let you even see him!" I could hear faint pops accompanying Kacchan's furious voice.

"My, my! Do my eyes deceive me? Katsuki? Is that you? My, how you've grown! Tell me, how's Mitsuki and Masaru?" A ringing in my ears grew louder with every word he spoke.

"Hisashi, that's enough playing around. We need to hurry back," Kurogiri spoke, his calm voice barely reaching me.

"My apologies. Sorry Katsuki, looks like we'll have to catch up another time, I need to see my son."

Even in my panicked state, I still felt Shoji tense as he began connecting the dots.

"Like we'd let you!" Shoto yelled as it suddenly got cold. "Shoji! Run away! We'll hold them back! Get to camp and get help!"

We started moving again, but only for a few moments. Then we were tumbling on the ground.

"Not so fast," Dabi's voice called right before we were rolling again and a wave of heat washed over me and a grunt of pain came from Shoji.

"Shoji!" Tokoyami called out.

"S-Shoji? Are y-you ok?" I timidly asked as I began to regain a little bit of my senses.

"I'm fine Izuku, are you able to run?"

"I-I think so."

"Ok, get ready."

Before I could respond, we were rolling again, but this time into a bush. He released my cocoon and I rolled further out.

"Go!" He whispered to me.

I quickly got up and started to run, stumbling over my feet a few times before I regained myself.

"IZUKU!" I heard a strangled yell from Shoto as I turned around only to see a bright blue being shot towards me.

In those mere milliseconds, my eyes went wide as flashbacks played in the back of my mind, I tripped over a root, shut my eyes and curled up in a ball.

The searing flames brushed over my foot as I fell on the ground with my eyes wide, staring at the blaze.

"Where do you think you're going?" Kurogiri's voice spoke up as he was instantly beside me.

I was suddenly falling into a deep and endless pit, but also floating up peacefully above the clouds at the same time in a cold ink. As quickly as it started, it ended and I face planted into the ground.

"IZU!" Kacchan screamed before a wall of blue flames blocked everyone away from me.

My head was pounding as I watched the flames dance.

"Zuki! It's been too long! Look at you, you're all grown up!" I flinched hearing that awful nickname that had once brought me joy.

"I get that we're villains and all, but why is he shaking so much?" Dabi asked.

"That's a good question," I flinched as a gruff hand gripped my hair and pulled me off the ground to face a man I never wanted to see again.

Staring at his scruffy, freckle covered face and his brown messy hair made all the calls from my friends fade away.

"Why do you look so scared, Zuki? Aren't you glad to see your dear old dad again? Sorry for not coming back that night, I just had some business to do that took longer than expected," he gave me a sweet smile that made me sick.

"Now that we have him, let's go," Compress said as he walked through his own portal.

"Giving me the silent treatment again? I thought you would've grown out of that by now," he gave a dramatic frown that turned into a sadistic grin. "Don't worry, I'll lend a hand."

His knee collided with my stomach, knocking the air out of me. He kept kneeing me over and over until he dropped me on my bad arm.

"Oh? Are you injured? I don't think an arm should be twisted like that, let me try and put it back."

He kicked me over onto my back and grabbed my wrist and elbow, unraveling the medical tape in the process.

Without a second of hesitation, he twisted it smiling at the cracks and pops that came from it.

The pain shot through my arm, travelling up my shoulder and to my neck like electricity flowing through wires as I grit my teeth.

"Oops, did I do it wrong?" He chuckled as he moved his hand that was once on my wrist to my shoulder.

He jerked his hands back, bringing my arm with him and pulling it out of socket and then twisting it more.

I let out a small grunt as I clenched my jaw.

"That's it?" He cooed as he put the hand from my elbow on my wrist.

He stomped down on my elbow without moving his hands, making my bones crack under the pressure.

I let out a gut wrenching scream as my vision was clouded by black and then cleared up again.

"That's better!" He hysterically laughed as I began to lose feeling in my arm.

"IZUKU!"

All the heat from the flames suddenly vanished as a new voice came.

"Let him go," Shota basically growled. I turned my head to the side to see that Denki, Hitoshi, and Shota had come.

"Who the hell are you?" Hisashi asked as he dropped my arm and I let out a whimpering hiss from the pain.

"Hisashi, we need to go!" Kurogiri insisted, but was only ignored as he hovered his foot on my arm.

"I'm his teacher, now back away from my problem child," I mentally laughed at his reply, but couldn't on the outside.

"Oh, I see. Sorry that I missed meet the teacher night, I was held up with helping a colleague," his voice sounded joking but had venom lacing through it.

"You asshole! Give Izuku back!" Denki cried as he made eye contact with my half lidded eyes.

"You make it sound like my son is an object. Besides, I think it'd be good for a child to be with their parents," I froze hearing him.

Did I mishear? Was that plura-

I let out a strangled scream as he pressed down on my arm.

"Hisashi! That's enough! Let's just go!" Dabi yelled, but the pressure never left my arm as I grit my teeth.

"Why such a rush Dabi? Let's enjoy this meeting a little longer," he looked down at me with a smirk from my darkest nightmares.

Just as I remember and relive whenever I see fire, his throat began to glow.

Snapping to my senses yet again, I began to struggle and squirm under his foot, but he just pressed harder, making me hiss.

"LET HIM GO!" Shoto yelled as he prepared to attack, only for Kurogiri to warp his ice and fire to the side.

"YOU BASTARD! DON'T YOU DARE! AIZAWA! ERASE HIS QUIRK!" Kacchan's voice cracked as he realized what was about to happen.

"If you erase his quirk, I'll use mine," Dabi said in a monotone voice, but it sounded weirdly forced.

I looked up at the man I once called my father to see his throat shining a bright red and his smirk growing until he opened his lips letting fire dribble out.

Small flames rolled down my back, melting my shirt and skin with it.

"STOP!" Hitoshi cried.

"Nah," he said casually as he opened his mouth fully and all the fire spilled over my back, melting my shirt away and making me instinctively curl up.

I couldn't hold my screams and cries as I felt the skin on my back boil and my melted shirt roll over my back, until it suddenly stopped.

"Dabi what the hell? If he's erasing my quirk, you should have yours!" He barked at Dabi who was glaring at him.

"I think it's enough. Let's just go back."

"You idiot! Where's the fun in tha-"

"I said, let's just go back!" Dabi hissed.

I was shaking as my back felt like it was sizzling still and I swear my blood was boiling under what was left of my skin. My arm had a constant pressure making me light headed.

"Just because you're the leader of the Vanguard doesn't mean yo-"

Before he could finish, a scarf was shot at him and he swiftly dodged.

"Hisashi. We're going. You can continue later, or you can stay here with the heroes," Kurogiri informed as he opened another portal for him and Dabi.

"Oh no you don't!" A glacier of ice came shooting over that was warped away again.

Just like that, chaos broke loose again. Everyone was trying to get closer only to have their attacks warped away or a wall of blue flames blocking them.

I heard a heavy sigh as my hair was grabbed again and I was being dragged away.

I tried using my good arm to get his hand off, but I was so weak that all I could manage was a few taps.

"Stop struggling, you useless brat. Don't worry, we can continue this as soon as we get back."

"IZU!" I looked over at Kacchan who had managed to get a mere few meters away from me.

I was already being pulled into the portal and he was reaching out with tears in his eyes.

"It's ok Kacchan, I'll be fine. Don't worry too much about me, ok?" I gave him a small smile as I said what I used to say to him every Friday and was pulled into the warp gate.
