Now let the story begin.

In the African rainforest, a young man named [Y/N] [L/N] is silently watching an Okapi drink from a river as he finishes sketching the beautiful animal in his book.

Done! Wow, what an absolutely stunning creature!

He thinks to himself as he packs up his stuff and quickly heads back to camp.

[Y/N] is on an expedition from England to study gorillas with Professor Archimedes Porter and his daughter Jane, whom [Y/N] has a major crush on.

Being an aspiring artist, [Y/N] wishes to draw one of these gorillas in person.

Arriving back at camp, he is greeted by the Professor and his daughter.

Professor : There you are my boy, we've been looking everywhere for you!

[Y/N] : Terribly sorry Professor Porter, I saw a marvelous looking animal and I just had to sketch it.

Jane : You made another drawing [Y/N]? May I see it please?

She asks with a beautiful smile that puts a blush on the young man's face.

[Y/N] : S-sure Jane.

He pulls out his sketchbook from his bag and shows her and the Professor his drawing of the Okapi.

Professor : Amazing! You have a real knack for drawing [Y/N]!

Jane : My father's right, you're incredibly talented at this [Y/N].

He smiles widely from her praise.

[Y/N] : Really Jane? You truly think so?

She nods.

Jane : I do. I dare say your sketches are some of the best I've ever seen.

[Y/N]'s face heats up from her immense praise, not going unnoticed by Jane.

The way he gets all flustered whenever I compliment him is so adorable. I know he fancies me, but little does he know that I have feelings for him as well.

Professor : Anyways, now that you're here [Y/N], we can finally set out to find the gorillas.

[Y/N]'s eyes beam with excitement.

[Y/N] : What are we waiting for then, let's go!

Professor : That's the spirit lad!

Jane chuckles at the two's childish excitement before they all leave the camp and head deeper into the jungle.

Timeskip

Despite hours of searching, the three failed to find any gorillas.

[Y/N] : Professor, the sun is about to set. Perhaps we should return to camp before it gets too dark.

Jane : He's right father, who knows what kinds of dangerous beasts will be lurking around at night.

Professor : Alright, we'll make our way back to camp for the night.

Walking back to camp, Jane suddenly pulls [Y/N] aside to talk.

[Y/N] : Is something the matter Jane?

Jane : No, I'm just curious about something is all. When we took a break from searching earlier, I saw you with your sketchbook out. What is it you were drawing [Y/N]?

Oh no, I can't show her what I was sketching!

He thinks to himself nervously.

[Y/N] : Oh, umm...I was sketching a....s-squirrel.

She gives him an unconvinced look.

Jane : Really? A squirrel?

[Y/N] : Y-yes, definitely a squirrel.

Jane : I see. Can you show me this drawing then?

[Y/N] : No! I m-mean, it really isn't my best work. Honestly I might just tear it out and throw it in the bin.

He's hiding something from me, and I'm gonna find out what.

Jane thinks to herself before getting an idea.

Jane : Don't move [Y/N]! There's a tarantula on your shoulder!

[Y/N] : WHAT?!

He drops his bag to the ground and begins frantically searching his body for the non-existent spider, giving Jane the chance to grab the sketchbook from his bag.

Realizing he's been tricked, [Y/N] turns to see Jane going through his sketchbook.

Her eyes widen in surprise as she sees....a beautifully drawn sketch of herself.

T-this is what he drew? Me?

She faintly blushes and smiles before going to face the panicked young artist.

[Y/N] : Jane, before you say anything, I can explain! I-

She cuts him off with a small kiss on the cheek.

J-Jane just kissed me!

He thinks to himself in shock.

Jane : It's a beautiful drawing [Y/N], I'm incredibly flattered you decided to sketch me. I've known about your feelings for me for awhile now.

[Y/N] : Y-you have?

She nods.

Jane : Yes, and the truth is [Y/N], I'm quite enamored with you as well.

[Y/N] couldn't believe what he was hearing, the woman he's been infatuated with since he met her just admitted she has feelings for him.

Jane : You are an amazing man [Y/N]. You're kind, passionate about art, and an absolute delight to be around. I'm a hundred percent certain in what I'm about to say. [Y/N] [L/N]...I love you.

His eyes widen as a deep red blush overtakes his face.

[Y/N] : I love you too Jane!

He says with a wide and goofy smile, making her chuckle.

She then smirks before pulling [Y/N] closer to her and kisses him passionately on the lips.

[Y/N] is caught by surprise at first, but then quickly sinks into the kiss and wraps his arms around her waist.

The two eventually pull away and stare lovingly into each other's eyes.

[Y/N] : I love you Jane.

Jane : I love you too, my dashing artist.

Professor : Come along you two, we're losing daylight!

They both hear him yell from up ahead.

Jane : We're coming father!

[Y/N] : Are we going to tell him that we're together now?

Jane : Of course love, but we'll wait until morning.

He nods as the two share one last kiss before catching up with the Professor and continue on their way back to camp, unaware of the gorillas watching them from the thick green underbrush that's all around them.
