Now let the story begin.

In Paris, the scene opens to the once popular restaurant Gusteau's, where the current owner Skinner has gathered his staff for an announcement.

Skinner : As you all know, our restaurant's popularity has been on the decline ever since Auguste Gusteau's unfortunate passing almost two years ago. But no more! For you see, I have made some calls and managed to get one of the most accomplished young chefs from the United States to come here and help bring this restaurant back to its former glory! Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to [Y/N] [L/N].

He steps aside as a young man walks up next to him with a small smile on his face.

[Y/N] : Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to meet all of you.

Most of the staff seem unimpressed with [Y/N], except for a woman with brown hair and blue eyes, who steps forward and firmly shakes his hand.

Skinner : Monsieur [L/N], this is Colette Tatou, my rôtisseur chef.

Colette : Bonjour [Y/N], I've heard of you, and if your reputation holds true, then it shall be a pleasure working with you.

[Y/N] : Likewise Ms. Tatou.

Skinner : Now that introductions are out of the way, everyone get to your stations! Also, Monsieur [L/N] is here to help us, so whatever he tells you to do, do it!

Staff : Oui Chef!

Skinner : Good. I'm proud to declare that Gusteau's is now...open!!!

Timeskip

A few weeks have passed since [Y/N] began working at Gusteau's, and the staff quickly began to respect him for how professional and experienced he was in the kitchen.

With [Y/N]'s help, Gusteau's has slowly began rising back into popularity.

As time passed, Colette and [Y/N] grew a close friendship, eventually leading to the two developing feelings for each other.

But for now, they must put their feelings aside and focus on the arrival of Anton Ego, the most acclaimed food critic in all of Paris.

[Y/N] : I've never heard of Ego before. Is he really that bad?

Colette : Oui, he's a man of great taste and sophistication, and is the strictest food connoisseur you'll ever meet. It's because of his last review of us that Gusteau's popularity plummeted. They even say the reason behind Chef Gusteau's death was because of a broken heart after reading his review. This is seriously [Y/N], if Ego gives us another bad review, then the fate of this restaurant is sealed.

[Y/N] : Well then, we just have to make sure we don't get a bad review. All we can do is put our heart and soul into everything we make, then I'm sure Ego will love whatever we prepare for him.

Colette : Ever the optimist aren't you [Y/N]? Let's just hope that your optimism isn't misplaced.

[Y/N] : Trust me Colette, it won't be.

He says with a smile as he receives Ego's order and begins preparing it.

Moments after sending out Ego's food, a waiter enters the kitchen with amazement on his face.

Waiter : Ego has asked to meet with the chef.

The whole staff goes wide-eyed except for [Y/N].

Colette : What?! To my knowledge, he has never asked to see the chef before! This could either be very good, or very bad.

[Y/N] simply smiles and exits the kitchen and heads to Ego's table.

[Y/N] : Hello sir, you wished to see me?

Ego looked at him with an uncharacteristic smile.

Ego : Indeed, I wished to give my compliments to the chef. Tell me, what is your name?

[Y/N] : [Y/N] [L/N] sir.

Ego : Ah yes, the chef from America. It's a pleasure to meet you, your dish was exquisite.

[Y/N] : Thank you, that means a lot coming from you sir.

Ego smiles and shakes his hand before leaving.

[Y/N] heads back into the kitchen and faces the nervous staff with a smile.

[Y/N] : He gave me a smile and said his meal was exquisite.

The whole kitchen erupts into celebration at hearing this.

Skinner : Haha! I knew hiring you was a good idea. Many thanks to you Monsieur [L/N]!

He says with a big smile while rapidly shaking [Y/N]'s hand.

Suddenly, Colette pulls [Y/N] into a tight embrace, making him blush faintly.

Colette : You did it [Y/N], you saved this restaurant!

[Y/N] : C'mon Colette, I don't deserve all the credit, everyone here has been doing an excellent job.

She lets go and looks at him with adoration.

Colette : You're too humble [Y/N]. It's one of the qualities I love in a man.

He looks at her with a flustered face.

[Y/N] : H-huh?

Colette : I can't hold back my feelings for you any longer, I love you [Y/N] [L/N]!

Before he could respond, she pulls him into a passionate kiss, earning a round of applause from their fellow chefs.

When Colette pulls away, [Y/N] looks at her with a goofy smile on his face.

[Y/N] : W-wow, that was amazing. I love you too Colette, and I have for a while now. This may be a stupid question, but would you like to go out with me sometime?

She giggles a little and nods.

Colette : Of course, I'd love to mon amour.

He smiles as the two look into each other's eyes affectionately.

When Ego's positive review of Gusteau's comes out, the restaurant's popularity skyrockets even higher than before.

[Y/N], having enjoyed his time in Paris, decides to stay and continue working at Gusteau's, much to the staff and Skinner's delight.

Plus, he gets to spend time with his beautiful french girlfriend, and nothing could be better than that.
