Wednesday

"A 'B'?" I shout as I collect my Multispecial test from Lady Rosine.

"Ivy!" Lady Rosine scolds me for being too loud.

"Sorry," I duck my head and say.

This is unbelievable. I studied SO hard for this test. I turn to the person

"Vienna," I lean in towards her. "What'd you get?"

"An A," she smiles sweetly.

"Nice," I say. I also tell myself to calm down because I feel like e x p l o d i n g  right now. I walk forward robotically.

I impulsively turn on my heel to face Vienna again.

"Hey, sit with me at lunch?" Vienna looks surprised, then smiles and nods.

I am walking to my first class - Properties of Shapes B1 - and I see Alexandria in the hall. I think back to what happened in Sir Tam's office yesterday.

I wave to her, scared of how she will react. Thankfully, she waves back. I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding.

Same time at Lunch

Vienna walks over to our table, sets her lunch tray down, and slides into a seat.

"...what is she doing here," Alexandria whispered to me. I now realize inviting Vienna here without letting Lexie know might not have been the best decision, especially after she felt so betrayed by me yesterday.

Vienna seemed to hear our conversation, even though we were so discreet.

"Ivy invited me over," Vienna said. There is an awkward silence.

"Vienna," I say carefully. "Could I come to your house after school to study for Multispecial? Lexie, you can come too!"

"I'd rather not," Lexie says immediately. Another awkward silence.

"Could we go to your house?" Vienna asks. I nod.
