Life As Husband & Wife

"Darling, I'm home!" Ran exclaimed cheerfully as he found Takumi on the desk, fast asleep in front of a computer.

"Oh, darling, you've overworked yourself," Ran whispered as he gentley carried Takumi bridal-styled into their bedroom.

"R-ran?" Takumi mumbled as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Don't overwork yourself, Takumi, okay?" Ran said worriedly as Takumi nodded, "I will not stop you from doing your work, but you need to remember to take care of yourself as well."

"Hai, love," Takumi smiled tiredly as she asked, "cuddles?"

"Of course," Ran laughed, "just let me shower first."

When Ran finished showering, he came out with his hair wet with water droplets and shirtless.

"Ah, love! Put on a shirt," Takumi said, covering her eyes.

"Come on, you've seen it all already, and you're blushing," Ran teased as he immediately flopped on the bed to see Takumi's face.

Takumi's face could not get any redder, "stob it, love."

"Ah okay, darling. Just admit it, you got a damn hot husband," Ran smirked as he removed Takumi's hands from her face.

Takumi could only nod as she instantly turned the other way so Ran could not see her face.

She felt Ran put on a shirt as he pressed himself against her back.

"How was practice today? Did Kenji do great?" Takumi asked as the two interlocked hands.

"He did, he's a great outside hitter. I'm training him right now, and we love to talk about you," Ran smirked.

"Oh shut it, we all know that I'm awesome," Takumi bragged as Ran laughed, "we do."

"But sadly, a lot of our members are retiring. This year is Akihiro-san and Tomohiro-san," Ran said with disappointment.

"I'm sure Ogawa-san would do great, but we'll all miss Aki and Yamamoto-san," Takumi agreed.

"I'll miss Tomo-san's digs, they were always on point," Ran said.

"Me too," Takumi added.

"Morning, love," Takumi said in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.

"Morning, darling," Ran said as he wrapped his arms around Takumi's waist.

"Oh stop it, Ran. I'm going to hit the frying pan over your head if you keep on doing that!" Takumi joked as she put the Tamagoyaki onto a plate.

"Looks delicious, but not as delicious as--" Ran started.

"Finish that sentence, and I'll make sure you'll go to practice today with a bump on your head," Takumi threatened with her frying pan.

"Ah, my little Tsuma, why so cruel this morning?" Ran cooed as Takumi rolled her eyes.

"Because you're being a little flirt, little Otto," Takumi replied as she passed the plate to Ran, who looked at it mouthwatering.

"You need your energy, darling, but remember, don't be late! I'm sure the team wouldn't appreciate their captain being late," Takumi reminded as she kissed Ran on the cheek before heading to make Ran's lunch: A bento box.

"Arigato Gozaimasu, darling!Β Itadakimasu!" Ran said happily as he dug into his breakfast, which was grilled fish, rice, Tamagoyaki, and miso soup.

Takumi scooped some rice into the box, some leftover grilled fish, the extra tamagoyaki she made, and a container with miso soup in it.

"Here, Ran. If you need more food, here's some yen," Takumi said as she handed Ran a 1000 yen bill.

"Arigato Gozaimasu, darling. You work so hard, now I feel guilty," Ran pouted.

"Don't worry about it, that's just what wives do for their husbands," Takumi smiled as she handed Ran his freshly-washed volleyball jerseys, shorts, and kneepads.

Ran could only hug Takumi thankfully as he gave her a kiss.

"Now go be the best captain you can possibly be," Takumi smiled as she waved goodbye to Ran, who gave her a flying kiss before rushing out the door.

After Ran left for training, Takumi changed into her professional clothes and put on her doctor coat.

Then, she put on some light makeup and put her hair in a low bun.

As a doctor inΒ The University of Tokyo Hospital, she had quite a busy schedule. Luckily, because she was advanced enough, all of her shifts were day shifts, starting from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Looking at the clock, Takumi realized it was already 7:20.

She hurried out of the apartment quickly as she made her way down to the subway station with her purse and briefcase.

However, the train was crowded.

Being tiny, Takumi squeezed herself into the train, her body touching the ones next to hers.

Luckily, the hospital wasn't far, so she only had to be uncomfortable for only twenty minutes.

When Takumi got off the train, she breathed, "thank goodness."

Rushing to the hospital on high-heels wasn't the best idea either, but Takumi did not care. Thankfully, she made it on time at 7:50 AM.

"Gomen gomen," Takumi panted to her senior doctor, Isha Suzuki.

"Hey, hey, it's fine, Takumi-chan. You look exhausted," Isha Suzuki said worriedly.

"I'm fine, thankfully I'm not late," Takumi said, still out of breath.

"Today's not that bad, your schedule is mostly checkups," Isha Suzuki said as she handed Takumi her schedule for the day.

"Hai, Suzuki-san!" Takumi said as she went to her office, ready to start the day.

"You have a fever, little one, the best thing you can do is take this medicine, drink lots of water, and have some rest," Takumi said when a little boy came in with his mother.

"That's it?" The mother asked, surprised.

"Yes, it must be the first time Hiro got sick. I congratulate you for keeping your little boy healthy for so long, but he just needs rest," Takumi said softly as the mother furiously thanked her.

"Arigato Gozaimasu, Isha Takahashi," The mother thanked as she and Hiro went out of the room.

"Did, did she just call me by Ran's last name?" Takumi chuckled as she shook her head.

When it was lunchtime, Takumi went out and got herself a cup of coffee, bubble tea, and an egg sandwich from Lawsons.

"Itadakimasu!" Takumi said when she sat down on her office desk and working on her patient's reports and diagnostics.

Then, she heard a knock on her door. She walked gracefully towards the door and when she opened it, she was instantly engulfted in a hug by Ran.

"Love!" Takumi said, surprised, "what are you doing here?"

"To visit my darling, of course," Ran smiled, "Coach Blain gave us two hours off."

Takumi shook her head, smiling as she lead Ran into her office room.

"Woah, this is a great room," Ran smiled when he saw the huge space.

His grin widened when he saw a picture of Ran and Takumi's wedding day on her desk.
