3 Years Later

Although Ran and Takumi were miles apart for most of the year, they still found time with each other, trusting each other every year, month, hour, minute, and second.

The two knew how corrupted and fake social media was. So, the two stopped their social media accounts who were shipping and talking about the couple.

Sure, they had their few fights and little arguments. But, the two, especially Ran, could not last a day without telling how sorry they were and making up with each other.

When Takumi finally graduated from Harvard with a professional medical license, Ran immediately asked Takumi to marry him and move in with her.

Takumi was still in tears when she recalled the memory.

"Darling, congratulations!!!" Ran happily exclaimed as he hugged Takumi, spinning her around.

"Thanks, love, I'm so glad to see you," Takumi smiled as she gave Ran a kiss.

"Let's go. The whole team is at a volleyball gym, ready to celebrate with you," Ran smiled.

"OF course!!! What are we waiting for?" Takumi asked as Ran laughed, the two going to catch a cab.

The plan was simple.

The team would play a game to five, along with Kiki and Mayu. Even little Sora would be there, sitting in the bleachers with her grandparents.

They agreed that they will somehow find a way to substitute Takumi for the last serve to make their plan work.

Ran crossed his fingers and hoped that luck would be on their side this time.

"Konnchiwa, senpais, Aniki, Onee-san, Kiki!" Takumi yelled as she immediately went to hug both of her siblings.

"Congrats on your graduation, imouto-chan," Yuki smiled as he ruffled his younger sister's hair.

"Arigato Gozaimasu, Aniki," Takumi smiled, "now let's play ball!"

And the two mini teams were off.

It was Team Yuki vs. Team Yuji. The former captain could not miss the chance to play back with the old team despite the fact that he was retired.

Of course, Ran and Takumi were on the same team, on Team Yuki.

The plan was going into action, with Team Yuki winning the first round.

With the second round, Team Yuji did not hold back. The team won the second round.

The teams continued to play each other, having fun as they eagerly await for the fifth round, where it would all come up to luck.

The team had Coach Blain set up the arrangements, to make sure that Takumi ends up serving on the last match point.

Thanks to Coach Blain, luck was on their side as their plan worked. Takumi didn't even have to be substituted in as she went to the back of the court, Ran passing her a ball.

Takumi did her usual routine as usual as she spun the ball around quickly one time, smacked it a couple of times, and slowly spinning the ball one more time before she served.

But this time was different.

There were words on the ball, written in clear black sharpie, "Dear Future Wife, will you marry me?"

Takumi gasped, dropping the ball as she quickly picked it back up and re-reading the words. She looked in front of her where Ran was supposed to be, but he wasn't there.Β

Then, she felt a pat on her shoulder and Ran went down on one knee, pulling out a shiny diamond ring from his pocket.

"Darling, remember the first day we met? At your elementary school, and I was like 'these kids are cute!' I did not expect that one of them was going to be my partner, the one who cheered me up when I was done, the one who believed in me so much that no matter how many universes I would be in, I would always want to be with you. I love you so much, darling. So, would you make me the happiest man in the world by marrying me?" Ran asked, full of emotion, as he stared into Takumi's eyes.

"OH, o-o-oh my g-god," Takumi cried, tears streaming down her cheeks as she nodded ferociously, "yes yes, I will marry you, Ran!"

Ran smiled, tearing up himself, as he went up and put the ring on Takumi's finger.

"CONGRATS GUUUUYS!" Yuji screamed as the whole gym filled with applause, hugs, kisses, and laughter.

Yuki pouted, but was happy nevertheless, knowing that his little imouto-chan found a man that he could trust with his life. Kiki was crying, her little giri no ane was growing up.

It was truly a memorable and unforgettable day.

"Darling, you're home!" Ran smiled brightly when a very exhausted Takumi came through the door.

"Hello, love," Takumi smiled weakly, but kissed her fiance passionately.

"Awww," Ran smiled as they interlocked their lips once more.

When they pulled apart, Ran said, "You look tired, darling. Let's go take a bath."

Takumi didn't even complain as Ran gentley carried her to the bathroom. The two took off their clothes, leaving each other bare for the other to see as they climbed into the giant bathtub.

Takumi sighed when Ran massaged her shoulders and hugged her.

She could feel his strong and hard chest against her back, but she didn't care. Weakly, she leaned her head back as Ran took care of her fragilely, knowing that being a new doctor at a high medical hospital was exhausting.

"Thanks for taking care of me, love," Takumi smiled tiredly when the two were in bed cuddling.

"Of course, darling. That's what future husbands are for," Ran said softly as he let Takumi snuggle against him.

"You know, thanks for supporting me every single step, Ran. You've been the main reason I look forward to everyday," Takumi said genuinely, looking at Ran with love.

"You've been the same, darling," Ran chuckled as he kissed her forehead, "now sleep, you and I both have a long day tomorrow."

"Oyasumi, love," Takumi said as sleep took over her.

"Oyasumi, darling," Ran smiled.
