Chapter 7

Orion eventually fell asleep from exhaustion after his outburst. His dreams were dark and filled with disturbing images. The sound of the manhole sliding open woke him with a jolt, heart racing at the sudden noise. Titan climbed down calmly, carefully closing the cover above and cooly stepping onto the ground. "I'm back ,sorry to wake you"
Orion sighed in relief seeing Titan again, even if he still wasn't on best terms with him.
"What's wrong? You're not looking so good" Titan said as he examined Orion from afar.
"It's nothing...don't worry" Orion bit back his pleas to beg Titan to stop going out of the sewer room for so long. He didn't know why he felt so anxious when he was gone, even though someone as cold as Titan is currently isn't worth the time. Just don't leave me here again....
Titan sat down on a small chair near the desk he had all the supplies on and placed his bag down on it. He acted busy as he arranged stuff he pulled out of the bag, as if he had something on his mind. Orion watched him out of the corner of his eye curious. "Did you see anything out there? What's the situation like..." He said trying to push the worry in his voice away.
Titan stopped what he was doing, and slowly turned around. "You sure you want to know?"
Orion turned his head to face him. "Why? What happened??"
Titan narrowed his eyes and averted his gaze for a second. "....You won't like it"
Orion waited, anxiety coming back in large waves. He didn't dare query any further and just waited for Titan to spit it out.
"It's Argon, I saw him" Titan didn't give away his tone.
"Argon!! Is he okay?!? ...Please tell me he's fine?" Orion got excited too early.
Titan stared him in the eye. "I said you weren't going to like it. Meaning he's dead. He got mauled from one of those zombies...he was still warm when I saw him too"
Orion felt his breath stop. He shook is head as sweat formed in tidal waves on his body and forehead. "N-No... It can't be...How..How could Argon be-" He covered his mouth recoiling, eyes widened in despair as if he was about to throw up. Titan watched saying nothing.
"W-Why didn't you help him" Orion stammered weakly. "You were t-there"
"He was already dead okay. Do you want the image in your head of how he looked? Because I could describe it in full detail if you wish" Titan placed his words evenly, but there was a hint of malice hiding beneath the cracks.
Orion lowered his head deeper, trying not to let tears form in front of the unicorn. Ignoring whether Orion wanted to hear or not, Titan continued on. "He was torn in half! What could I have saved, Orion, tell me now. His innards were streaked all over the road, does that sound alive to you??"
Orion couldn't hold it in anymore, choking on his tears. He held in his desire to puke but still salivated at the description.
Titan ignored the sight. "But don't worry, Orion" He stood up and rested his arms on the top of the couch, leaning forward . " Im still here, so stop being so upset" Orion looked at him pitifully, Titan's eyes were so kind and nurturing. He wiped Orion's wet face with his cold hand, his fingers softly touching his cheek and undereye. "There's nothing to worry about"
"B-but Argon...He..." Orion whimpered. "He's gone...."
Titan caressed Orion's purple hair, careful not to touch his fake removed horns. "There's no need to cry, after all he's gone now. There's nothing that can be done..." He murmured softly.
"He shouldn't be ...gone.... I should've looked for him...and we should've stayed together- It's all my fault..." Orion shied away into Titan's shoulder, wetting the jacket.
Titan smiled kindly. "Maybe so" Orion winced at the words. "But that doesn't matter, because you have me"
They stayed interlocked for a while, Orion processing the death of his dear friend. Orion had never shown such despair, as his life was mainly stress-free. He never had experienced loss before, and now it targeting one of his closet friends and bandmates it destroyed him. Titan let go of the bison and moved around from the back of the couch to sit next to him on the couch. Orion couldn't think about anything but the grief in present, the past few events beforehand had be hidden away in his mind. He grabbed Titan from the side, and begged without words for him to never go away. He didn't want anyone else to go away or, in this case, die. Titan held him in return with a pokerface, staring distantly. Orion slipped into a light sleep, head complicated. He just wanted everything to go back to normal when they were sitting in the golden studio together not long ago. He thought of Jii again praying that he would at least be safe....

Orion woke on the couch, Titan out of sight. Panic rose immediately as he already felt unwell when he woke up, a headache blaring in his head. He calmed again seeing Titan was just sitting on a chair on the other side of the room. Orion sighed at sat up, anxiety still pulsing in his stomach making him feel cold.
"Argon..." He remembered reality, as his dreams were filled with Argon fading away and ARCAREAFACT feeling empty without the upbeat drummer. Even if the virus passed over, things would never be the same. He took all his energy to not go in a depressive spiral again, he had to stay strong and get through the days. Titan looked up at Orion and sat more importantly, waiting to speak. Orion turned his attention to him.
"I have something important to show you" Titan locked his eyes onto Orion's.
"And what is it?" Orion couldn't guess what Titan has to say now. Please not another tragedy!
"It's about our survival, I was hoping it wouldn't come to such extremes but Argon's fate woke me up" He placed something on the table he was sitting by. It had weight to it, and sounded unfamiliar to Orion as it contacted the tabletop. Orion stoop up from the old couch and walked over to where Titan was seated. "This is....!!!!!"
"Yes, it's a gun"
