Chapter 9

Titan stood up, searching frantically for a way to defend himself against the threatened attack. "You better put down that gun Orion. Don't do something you'll regret"
"I'M SICK OF YOU DAMN IT!!! YOU'RE NOT TITAN!!! YOU'RE NOT!! UNDOUBTEDLY, AND UNDENIABLY!!! " Orion shouted, his voice shrill and frantic. Sweat welled under the handle, his finger slipping on the trigger. He breathed heavily, and attempted to focus his vision.

"You idiot....!!" Titan clenched his teeth watching Orion's moves. "Well, you know what? Go head"
He relaxed and threw his hands in the air. "Shoot me Orion! Make sure to aim for the vitals. Go on..."
Orion whimpered and tried to aim more accurately, hands shaking. "I'll kill you... I will..... THIS IS YOUR LAST FIGHT"
The sound erupted through the enclosed room, the force knocking Orion backwards.Glass exploded everywhere, flying all over the floor. He hit his head on the fall down, yelling out at the impact. A sharp sound blared through his head.
Adrenaline rushed through him rapidly as what happened sunk in. It's over. I can finish the rest off now. He struggled to move to reach for the small pistol, eyes dark and blurry unable go detect its whereabouts.
"You'll have to try harder than that"
Orion's heart jumped and pounded harder, head jolting up to see Titan standing over him, the smoking gun in hand. "How-" Orion was cut off as Titan clasped a cold hand over his mouth. The unicorn forced himself behind him and had him in a hold, pinning him down. Orion protested, trying to break free, but he froze as he felt the gun against his head.
"Too bad, if only you pointed a little more to the left" Titan murmured sickly.
Orion did not say a word. Titan repositioned Orion to be resting his head on his lap, gun still pointed at him. He moved his hand covering the quivering mouth to cover his tear drenched eyes.
"It's such a shame it had to be this way, Orion. We didn't need all this drama. And my TV, really? Those things aren't cheap"
The bison still didn't respond, completely consumed by despair. He didn't care about anything anymore, if he was shot right here there was nothing he could do. They sat together silently for a couple agonising minutes.
"Now that we're like this, you want to hear a funny joke? It will take your mind off allllll this" Titan said softly, yet holding in a chuckle. "The joke is...how gullible you are"
Orion's anxiety levels reached the limit. Gullible? What does he mean by that....Titan?
"I mean, you must be really stupid. Well you are but, I'm impressed." The unicorn moved in closer. "Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Orion just trembled, unable to think of a response. He feared with all his heart at what Titan was getting at.
"This... EVERYTHING!! You didn't REALLY think it was real... did you?" He couldn't hold in his laughter. "Like seriously. Zombies? In Midicity?" Orion felt as if he was dropped 69 feet into the cold ocean. He began to panic under Titan's grasp. "no... No.. Don't say any more...Stop it" He pleaded weakly.
"No one is 'DEAD'!! I made it all up" Orion couldn't hear any more. "You didn't actually think Taco Bell made a zombie apocalypse. That is fucking ridiculous."
Silence filled the air.
"Not replying are we? Did I break you?" Titan pressured.
"....But...The news.... It reported everything..." Orion felt nauseous. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, but the more he heard , the more it made sense and how utterly foolish he felt. He never saw one zombie. It was just word of mouth from his rival.
"THE NEWS! OHHHH AHAHAH!!!!!" Titan burst out laughing.
"THATS MY FAVOURITE PART!! You want to know? I Used my phone to make them on Cutecut. THE FREE VERSION. I had to screen record them.. And for the reporters.. I just used a voice changer. DID YOU NOT EVEN PFFT- HEAR THE NAME I GAVE HER???? DECEIVE-GAWA LIAR??? ARE YOU DAFT???? I THOUGHT THE GAME WAS UP WHEN THE NAME GOT DROPPED!!!"
Titan took his hand holding the gun away to wipe his eye, from assumedly laughing too hard. Orion felt soulless. Everything was a lie. "A game.... this was....just a game to you.....But... is everyone still alive? You said everyone was alive... what about Balt and Nickel-" Titan shoved the top of the gun to Orion's mouth , silencing him. "Who cares. You're ruining it you know.... BAHAHAHHA" Titan laughed like mad, like there was an inside joke he didn't let Orion in on. The taste of the recently shot gun tasted absolutely disgusting. He just stayed quiet, praying in his head that they were unharmed.
"I'll just let you decide if everyone is alive or not...It's more fun"
Orion wanted to get away from this terrifying Titan. He wanted to know if everyone was okay, but the other side of himself was tired , betrayed and wanting to sleep forever.
Titan slowly calmed down from whatever was so humorous and looked down fondly and Orion. He moved the gun away from his mouth and placed it back on the side of his head, which if was shot is on an angle facing away from his own harm. They sat silent again. Titan looked down fondly at the depressed bison.
"I've always loved you , Orion" A softer, less twisted and warped voice came out of his mouth. It almost sounded like the Titan Orion once knew.
Orion opened his mouth to reply desperately, but it was to no avail. Titan watched him struggle like an upturned fly, and smiled wickedly.
An explosion erupted on the side of Orion's head, feeling like pure agony for a split second.
Then nothing.

Orioj lay sprawled out on the floor, head limply hung in the unicorn's once white and pristine lap, pants now sprayed with red and sludge.
Titan removed his hand covering Orion's vision and looked down at the expressionless man. He nervously laughed, caressing Orion's blood caked hair.
Liquid dropped from his face onto Orion's, blending with the red mess trickling down.
Titan wiped his face and pushed his old friend's body off him without a care.
He stood up shakily and walked away without looking back, climbing the ladder out of the sewer drain one last time. He walked purposely away, ears strained from the echoing gunshot.
More liquid dripped out of his eyes, and then his nose. He wiped it with his white sleeve after letting it sit for a second, and drawing back to look at it. The sleeve stained a faint purple, rather than clear or light green. Titan chuckled, which then turned into manic cackling. The ooze fell more rapidly with each heave, spilling out onto the concrete. It erupted out of his mouth and made his laughter morph into choked garbling, yet he continued.
He composed himself, but his eyes remained wide and buzzed. He swung his head around slowly, scanning the barren city.
"Who's next?"
