“YOU really wanted to talk to me about the project I had with Thomas?” Josh asked Lance when the other Kim visited him in his company, “what about—wait, who manage BG right now?”

“It’s Lisa and yes, because she really need some help.”

“Wait, why your tone seems like Lisa is in trouble.”

“It’s because she really is.”

“Why?”

Lance sighed, “she didn’t plead me but my daughter is.”

Josh chuckled, “why, what Jennie did?”

“You know, how close Jennie is to Lisa,” and he saw him nod, “she had some special feelings towards her, she will do anything to help.”

“What about the other Kim?”

“She finally broke up with him.”

“Hm that’s good news, I really don’t like them even though they’re distant relative of us.”

“I know.”

“Anyways what is Lisa’s problem?”

“The board.”

“She had the same problem with Thomas actually.”

“Yeah, I know, I have a question though.”

“Tell me.”

“About the project, is there any problem with that project?”

“No, why? Thomas and I agreed we will do it this year but—you know what happened and there’s no way I will talk about that project now to Lisa if she’s the one who manage BG.”

“That’s her problem now, the members didn’t agree.”

“Let me guess, they scare her?” and he saw him nod then he shook his head, “to tell you the truth there’s nothing wrong with the project and Thomas and I really wanted it to launch this year, many sick patients will really hook to it, I assure you and also, Thomas has been planning it since forever, he said that it was his baby project before he planned on expanding BG.”

“Can you discuss it with Lisa? I really want to help her and also as my future daughter-in-law.”

Josh smiled and nodded, “of course, she’s my daughter’s best friend too, why not, I’m just waiting for the right time actually because it’ll be a disrespect to Thomas memories if I push it, he’s my friend too.”

“Too bad those assholes didn’t care about Thomas' death, they prioritize the immediate take-over of Lisa as the heir of BG.”

Josh shook his head, “it’s really time to change them, they could be a future problem in BG,” and he nod, “okay, once she publicly took over BG, we will begin the project immediately.”

“You really got me curious about this project of yours with Thomas.”

Josh smiled, “you will know, a lot will be helped and could be taken care because of the project.”

Lance nodded, “I will tell Lisa.”

“I’m sure you will, but tell her to have a discreet meeting with me.”

“Okay, they will not notice since Jisoo is Lisa’s best friend.”

“That’s what I’m thinking.”

Its past 12noon when Jennie arrived at BG, she’s having trouble of getting in because she’s not a staff of the company but thankfully to Jisoo for giving a heads up to Joohyun so she could get in.

She’s now on the said floor and it was so silent, deafening to be exact and she continue to walk until she saw a twin large door and on the side is a wide cubicle, thankfully there’s a woman there.

“Uhm excuse me?” and she met her eyes and her immediate smile.

“Hi, Ms Kim.”

“You know me?”

“We met before, actually and I couldn’t fault you for not remembering me.”

“Really?”

“Yes, it’s just once though, on Sir Thomas house, you and Lisa are just high school back there and I was there sometimes to have small meeting with Sir Thomas.”

Jennie now remembered, that’s why she’s familiar, “I remember now.”

“I am Joohyun Kang, nice to meet you and I apologize if our last encounter is not good, I’m just protecting Ms Lisa at that time.”

“From me, you mean?”

“Yes, from you, I heard a lot from Jisoo and Rosé, I just don’t want to see Lisa hurt, she’s like my younger sister, not to mention my former boss, Thomas' daughter.”

Jennie gulped but nodded, “I understand.”

“Do you need to talk to Lisa?”

“Yes, I need to talk to her and I brought lunch for her, she might end up not eating dinner once she got home, I heard your conversation with her last night, her meeting at 1pm.”

“Oh I see, I can give it to her.”

“If it’s okay, can I hand it personally to her? I just wanted to make sure that she will not skip lunch, I tried my best for her not to skip breakfast this morning.”

Joohyun smiled and nodded, “I know you’re making it up with Lisa, if you hurt her again, I will not be good next time, since I have now authority as Lisa's guardian.”

“And I understand you for being so protective towards Lisa, rest assured that it will not happen again.”

“Jennie?”

Jennie heard that familiar voice and saw Lisa, in her usual black leather jacket, helmet and its pack bag and she smiled then approach Lisa.

“Hi,” she greeted.

“Hi, what are you doing here?” and she remember what she heard from her earlier before she left the Kim’s mansion, “is this what you mean earlier?”

Jennie smiled and nodded, “I brought lunch,” and she showed it.

“Wow, uhm—thank you, did you wait long?” and she accept it.

“Just arrived.”

“Did you drive here or you have company?”

“Mom didn’t let me drive and yes I have company, our driver, I let him stroll around for a bit.”

“Okay, I went home for a bit to change, but thanks for the lunch, come.”

“Good afternoon, Ms Lisa.”

“Good afternoon, unnie, I will not take long, you can have lunch now, Seul-unnie is already looking for you.”

“I will and take your time, Ms Lisa.”

Lisa let Jennie get in first then she followed.

Jennie was amazed of the interior in Lisa’s office, “this is so wide and beautiful,” and she approached the glass wall, looking in amusement.

“You look like Rosé-unnie, she walked there first after entering the office.”

“Really, did they visit here usually?”

“No, it happened just once.”

“Why, or did they just wanted to visit you?”

“Some things, Jisoo-unnie just wanted some clarification.”

“About?”

“About Jong-In.”

“Tell me.”

“I don’t know if—”

“Just tell me.”

Lisa nodded, “Jisoo-unnie just wanted to know why Jong-In is mad at me, she thought that I did something that makes his blood boil.”

“And?”

“I told her, I don’t know too, she actually heard you with Jong-In, arguing, they heard how mad Jong-In is on me.”

“I don’t know too, Lisa, what do you think?” and she took the seat in front of Lisa’s table.

“I told them my theory and they confirmed that it could be, it strengthened after what happened to my motorbike.”

“About him taking me because he can’t take your bike?”

Lisa nodded, “Jisoo-unnie said that it’s possible.”

“He’s possessive of super bike and your theory is right, Lisa.”

“You know that it was my mom’s gift.”

“I know and I’m sorry for taking it too long for me to realize, tell me, what else did he done?”

“It’s all in the past, Jennie.”

“No, not until you call me Nini too.”

Lisa sighed, “okay, for you to ease your mind, she’s blaming me every time you approached me, that it’s my fault that you two had an argument or whatever it is you're fighting, he told me to stay away from you and if you didn’t I have to push you away but I don’t want it because I just can’t push you away, I still consider you my best friend.”

“But you’re putting a distance on me, on our anniversary, you gave my baked cookies to Rosé.”

“I have reasons why I do it, first, Dr Choi, Lia’s father, told me that I can’t eat sweets anymore, he don’t want me to follow father on the grave, I do have a high sugar when he check me up, second—” and she sighed, “I don’t want to rise up the tension between me and Jong-In, seeing how you protected him, you might not believe me, who am I to you in those moment that you’re still in-love with him, you might think that I’m trying to break you two up.”

“You really lose your trust on me, Lisa.”

“I’m sorry.”

Jennie then stood, “eat your lunch, don’t skip, I leave now, I’m sorry if I disturb you,” and she bowed her head and walked towards the door.

Lisa tightened her jaw then she stood following Jennie, she grab her wrist and pulled her then she embrace her tight and she heard her sob, “I’m not blaming you for anything and don’t feel guilty, don’t forget that Jong-In set us up, he wants me to be devastated and so are you in the end, we’re both victims here—Nini,” and she pulled off slightly, still holding Jennie then she wipe her tears, “stop crying, you know that I don’t want to see you crying.”

“No matter how you said that I must not feel guilty, I am, I really am and I can’t help it because I broke the promise I made with you.”

“You know that sometimes promises are made to be broken because of the certain situation that we can't avoid, so don’t feel guilty now, will you?”

Jennie nodded and she received a kiss from Lisa on her forehead and pulled her for embrace once more, “I love you.”

“I know.”

“I will wait for the day you will say that you love me too.”

“Okay, Nini.”

Lisa sighed after a long debate from the board members and as usual they are giving her a headache. She is massaging the bridge of her nose when someone called on her personal phone so without looking who is calling she just grab it and answer whoever is calling.

“Hello?”

“Hmm that sound is like you’re stressed already.”

Lisa frowned and glance at the screen and it was unregistered, “I’m sorry but may I know who's calling?”

“Oh, I’m sorry, pardon me, Ms Manoban, I forgot to introduce myself first, I’m Josh Kim, Jisoo’s father.”

Lisa widened her eyes, “M-Mr Kim…”

“Yes, Lisa, it’s me, I don’t know where we could meet because someone might see us if  we’re on the public it will cause rumours that we both don’t want but there is one place that is more private, if you have time can we meet later during dinner?”

Lisa gulped, “of course, Mr Kim.”

“Don’t be too formal Lisa, you’re my daughter’s best friend, not to mention you’re a friend of Chaeng too, so I'm expecting you to call me uncle and my wife, auntie, when we’re not in the office, can you do that?”

“Yes, uncle.”

“Good, see you later, talking in the phone for long is not good, see you later, Lisa.”

“Okay, uncle.”

And the call ended.

Lisa let out a huge breath, Jennie’s father just talked to him, she knew that, did Josh Kim really agreed? Guess she will find out later, during dinner.

Lisa arrived at the other Kim’s mansion and she saw Jisoo standing by the gate and one guard is nearby looking everywhere.

“Yah, Limario!”

“Unnie,” and she get off of her bike, removing her helmet, “what are you doing here outside?”

“Waiting for you.”

“W-Why?”

Jisoo grinned, “dad mentioned that you will come so I’m here,” and she put her arm around Lisa’s shoulder, “care to tell me, why you’re here?”

“Uhm—business I think?”

“Really?”

Lisa nodded, “I talk to uncle Lance this morning, I actually want him to be a part of the board but he’s doubting that the board will accept him since his business has got nothing to do with BG, he told me that he will talk to your father and I guess he did.”

“I see, come on,” and she guide her inside then she motioned the guard to park the motorbike inside.

They entered the mansion and saw Jisoo’s parents and her younger brother, Jimin, 15yrs old and then Lisa immediately greeted the Kim’s.

“Aigoo, you really greet Lisa in the gate?” Josh said to his eldest, Jisoo.

Jisoo just smiled.

“Aish.”

“What? I just wanted to know,” and she pouted.

Josh then ruffled Jisoo’s hair, “it’s confidential.”

Jisoo step back and hide behind her mother while arranging her hair, “too bad, dad, Limario already told me.”

Lisa gave an apologetic smile, “I can’t say no to unnie, uncle, I’m sorry.”

Josh just sighed.

“As expected from you, Lisa-hyung,” Jimin said.

“Hyung?” Lisa asked to Jimin.

“I called you Limario, that’s why he called you that, he sometimes called me hyung.”

And Josh butted in, “it’s because you’re acting like a man too, a kid man.”

“Yah!”

Mr and Mrs Kim just laughed.

“Welcome again, Lisa,” Yeri said, Jisoo’s mother.

“Thank you, auntie.”

“I’m glad you drop the formality.”

“Uncle warned me.”

Yeri just chuckled, “it’s because we’re family too, Lisa, aside from the other Kim, not Jong-In.”

Jisoo nodded, agreeing to her mother, followed by Jimin who hugged Lisa sideways which he earned a ruffle from his wavy raven hair, like Jisoo.

“I know that, auntie.”

“Come on, let’s eat dinner, first.”

And they all headed to the dining area.
