Y/n's POV

As you and the rest of team RWBY sat on the benches, Weiss appeared from the doorway, having changed into her combat outfit. You noticed she looked more concentrated than you'd ever seen her. She walked down the stairs, and stepped into the arena, getting into a fighting stance.

Yang: "Go Weiss"

Blake: "Fight well!"

Ruby: "Yeah! Represent team RWBY!"

Weiss looked over to Ruby, seemingly mad at her statement.

Weiss: "Ruby! I'm trying to focus!"

Ruby: "Oh... Sorry..."

Y/n: "Weiss whatever you do do not die!"

Ruby elbowed you, while Weiss gave you a death glare.

Y/n: "I-i mean, go Weiss!"

Weiss turned her attention back to Mr. Port.

Port: "Alright... Let the match-"

Port used Blunderbuss to break the lock off the cage, causing the door to fall open, revealing a Boarbatusk.

Port: "Began!"

{I'm too tired to write this whole thing out, so here's the episode}

After the fight, you along with the rest of team RWBY waited for Weiss outside the classroom. Ruby seemed a bit occupied with her thoughts, but you paid no attention. After awhile, you saw Weiss approaching. You cleared your throat and congratulated Weiss on the victory.

Y/n: "Congrats Weiss"

She kept walking, passing you and the rest of team RWBY up. Ruby jogged to catch up to her.

Ruby: "Weiss!"

Weiss: "What?!"

Ruby: "What's wrong with you?! Why are you bein-"

Weiss: "What's wrong with me?!"

Just the way Weiss was talking to Ruby made you angry, but you held it in, deciding to only step in if necessary.

Weiss: "What's wrong with you?! Your supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!"

Ruby scoffed, but you could see the damage Weiss's words had done. At this point, you snapped...

Y/n: "Cut it OUT!"

You shouted, causing everyone except Weiss to jump from the boom in your voice. Weiss looked at you with anger, buy you looked back with pure rage in your eyes.

Weiss: "What do you want (Y/n)?!"

Y/n: "I want you to tell Ruby sorry"

Weiss: "As if! She hasn't done anything to earn the position she's in right now! I should've been the leader of this team!"

Weiss turned her back towards Ruby, looking over her shoulder.

Weiss: "Ozpin made a mistake"

With this, she walked off. Every fiber in your body wanted to shoot her in the back, but she was your teammate, and you needed to comfort Ruby. You went to walk up to here, but you felt a hand grab your shoulder and spin you around. You came face to face with Ozpin, who spoke in a rather quite voice.

Ozpin: "You go speak with Ms. Schnee, I've got Ms. Rose"

You nodded, and took of to go find her, eventually ending up on the roof. Your blood boiled at the sight of her, but you knew you had to keep calm.

Y/n: "So, mind explaining what the problem is?"

Your voice must've scared her because as you spoke, she reacted by jumping. She turned to you with a slightly annoyed look.

Weiss: "What do you want you dolt?!"

Y/n: "First off, drop the attitude, second off, why are you so mad?"

Weiss: "Because Ruby isn't meant to be a leader! I was, and Ozpin made a mistake!"

You and her sat in silence for a minute, before you spoke up.

Y/n: "So, how do you think should be the team leader?"

Weiss: "Me of course!"

You gave her a deadpan look, as if you were asking if she was serious.

Y/n: "No offense, but you think that because you've always gotten what you've wanted."

Weiss looked puzzled, then a look of rage can over her face.

Weiss: "That's not true! If yo-"

Y/n: "No, it is true. You've always gotten what you've wanted, when you've wanted, and now that your not leader, your mad. Your blaming Ozpin for a mistake your parents made. They shouldn't have spilled you so much, then you wouldn't be so bratty"

Weiss looked at you, a slight look of confusion mixed with a lot of rage. You apperently struck a nerve...

Weiss: "How dare you say that to me! I'm am not spoiled!"

Y/n: "Yeah uh huh..."

You sat on a nearby bench and looked at Weiss.

Y/n: "Your very spoiled. That's why you thought you should be leader. Ozpin made a good choice picking Ruby because he saw the amount of determination she had. Back in the forest she ran in to fight that deathstalker despite being told not to. You? You've done absolutely nothing. And i mean no offense to you. Just try thinking about what I've said."

You stood up, stretching and began walking off.

Y/n: "I'm gonna go to the dorm and go to sleep, see ya."

You walked back to the dorm, walking right past Ozpin who had apperently cheered Ruby up.

Later that night - General POV

Ruby laid up on her bunk, passed out from studying her books. Weiss pulled the curtains back, looking at Ruby. She tapped her to wake her up, which made her open her eyes with a flutter, then go wide eyes at the sight of Weiss.

Ruby: "Weiss! I w-was studying then I feel asleep! I'm sorr-"

Weiss covered Ruby's mouth due to how loud she was. She placed a finger over her own mouth signalling for her to quiet down. Weiss noticed the empty coffee mug in Ruby's bed and removed her hand.

Weiss: "How do you take your coffee?"

Ruby: "I-i don't?-"

Weiss: "Answer the question!"

Ruby: "Cream and 5 sugars!"

Weiss: "Sigh Don't move!"

Weiss disappeared for a few moments, before reappearing with a mug of coffee for Ruby. She handed her the coffee.

Ruby: "Thanks..."

Weiss: "Ruby, I you have what it takes to be a great leader. Just know, I'll be the best teammate you will ever have! Good luck studying."

Weiss went away before coming back up again.

Weiss: "By the way, that's wrong."

She walked off, but once again she returned.

Weiss: "Hey Ruby?"

Ruby: "Huh?"

Weiss: "I've always wanted bunk beds as a kid, and goodnight."

Weiss looked to Y/n laying down, sound asleep.

Weiss: "Thank you (y/n). Goodnight."

Y/n: "Your welcome Weiss, and goodnight to you too"

Weiss looked suprised at first, then she smiled and giggled a bit. With that, she left, leaving Ruby to study, and Y/n to sleep.
