(A/N Hey guys so I'm just going to do POV's for the rest of the story cuz it's so much more easier then 3rd person)

--1 week later--

Lucas POV
I just got back from Texas and was going to meet everyone at Topangas with Zay. As we walked in there were streamers and balloons everywhere and a banner that said Welcome Back Lucas and Zay. Riley and Maya hugged me and Zay, but something felt different with the hug. I didn't see Josh there so that was a good sign, I mean not that I care. But Farkle and Riley seemed to be kinda off today, I ignored all of it and decided to just play along and enjoy the party.

Lucas=L Maya=M Riley=R Farkle=F Zay=Z

L- So how was Christmas?
M- It was great.
R- Yeah it wasn't the same without you guys though.
L- Farkle? How was your Christmas?
F- Oh I was at Riley's house for the week, we played a board-

Just then Maya nudges Farkle and steps on his foot.

L- What you played a board game so what? We can play it another time.
M- No! Huckleberry, we burned it on Christmas day.
Z- Looks like someone didn't have fun with that board game.
R- Lets just forget about that night okay.
Z- But it's Christmas.
M- What Riles means is that it was a hectic Christmas, you know with all the preparation and all the stuff.

I was about to lose it, I grabbed Maya's hand and brought her outside.

L- Maya what happened at Christmas?
M- Nothing Huckleberry.
L- I know you're lying.
M- Nothing! Okay! Nothing happened!
L- Something did happen something huge and I don't want you lying to me!

I grab Maya's hand and hold close, Maya seems to notice and let go.

M- If anything happened I would tell you,
L- So tell me!
M- You didn't let me finish! If anything happened I would tell you, but you have to promise to not tell anybody especially Farkle or Riley or Zay.
L- What happened Maya?
M- Farkle and Riley kissed, Riley knocked Farkle unconscious so he wouldn't know, and Josh kissed me and I may have or may have not kissed him back and the reason why I don't want you to play that board game is because it's exactly like the one we played at New Years when Charlie was here.

I couldn't believe what I just heard...JOSH KISSED MY MAYA??!! I mean, he did that to her and she kissed back?!?!

L- Is that all Maya?
M- Yes Huckleberry that's all. But please don't tell anyone not until.
Lucas- Not until what?
M- Not until I'm ready.
L- I promise,
M- Now stop talking to me please.
L- Why?
M- Because it's supposed to be-

I saw a tear fall down her cheek, more starting to fall.

L- It's supposed to be?
M- It's supposed to be you and Riley okay! Not you and me! It shouldn't be like that okay! Now just ask Riley to be your girlfriend so that this can all just stop!
L- What are you talking about Maya?
M- I'm not supposed to like you, and I don't want to like you. You shouldn't like me, you're not supposed to like me. You're supposed to like Riley, Riley's who you like. Not. Me. So I'll be with whoever should be with me, but it's not you Huckleberry okay, it's- not you.

Then Maya walks away and leaves Topangas. I feel like my heart just get hit with a sledgehammer, It broke my heart that she thought that way. But what really confused me was what did she mean by she's not supposed to like me. Does that mean she likes me?

I walk back into Topangas and everyone acted as if nothing happened, no one asked questions. Did they hear what just happened? Does Farkle know what Riley and him did, do they know what Maya said? I just sit down and stay quiet for the rest of the awkward party.

Maya's POV
I go to Riley's house after me and Lucas' conversation. I wanted to talk to Matthews, Topanga, and my mom about all of this. When I walked into the room I saw them all sitting there, as if they were all waiting for me.

Maya- I need to talk to you.
Cory- Come here sit down kiddo.
Topanga- What's the matter Maya?
Maya- I like Lucas.
Josh- Well that's some news.

My eyes go wide as I see Josh open the door and sit down on the chair.

Maya- What do you want?
Josh- I heard Zay and Lucas were coming back so I said hi at Topangas, but guess what! No one saw me!
Cory- Okay, so you like Lucas.
Katy- Why make such a fuss?                                                                                      Topanaga, Josh, Maya, and Cory- Because Riley also likes Lucas!                   Maya- Darn Ma, you gotta catch up with these things.                                                   Josh- Can I talk to you?                                                                                                         Maya- Why?                                                                                                                               Topanga and Cory- NO!                             Katy- Why not!? You know what I'm her mother, so go ahead sweetie, talk to Scott.                            
Josh- Josh.                                                                                                                               Katy- Sorry, Josh.                                                                                                             Cory- Well congrats Clutterbucket! Ya made the wrong choice!                             Katy- What are you talking about?!                                                                                 Topanga- Its okay, Katy. Rookie mistake, lets just say, if you knew what's going on, your answer would be different.                                                                                                                                                               Katy- This is what happens when I let you raise her!

I wanted to stop hearing the grown ups arguing so I just left with Josh, he led me to the roof.        

Maya- What do you wanna talk about Joshua Boing Matthews?                       Josh- You wanna know the real reason I came today?                                             Maya- What so you can talk to me about dumb feelings?                                     Josh- No, I wanted to talk about my life and what's going to be happening.     Maya- So you wanna talk about your feelings?                                                   Josh- No Maya, I came to talk about...about, are you sure you want to hear this?                                  
Maya- Right here, right now.                                                                                           Josh- Then you might want to sit for this.

I listened to Josh as we both sat on the bench, he looked straight into my eyes.

Josh- The schools in Philadelphia are different than in New York.
Maya- I know that.                                                                                                                   Josh- I graduate next month.                                 

My mouth dropped hearing this. We still have almost 2 months left, I think, I'm not that person whos great with numbers.

Maya- But-but-but its only April!                                                                                     Josh- I know, my teachers know,                                                                                   Maya- Does your principal know?!                                                                                 Josh- Yes she knows too.                                                                                                 Maya- So you're going to graduate high school right before I'm going there?
Josh- Yep, that's the plan.                                                                                                 Maya- You're like an adult now basically.                                                                     Josh- Yeah, I guess I am.                                                                                                   Maya- Well was that it? That's all you wanted to say?

Josh POV

I stared at Maya for a while, I actually wanted to tell her how I really feel about her. But, she likes Lucas, what a surprise. And plus, she didn't want to talk about feelings with me in the first place, it killed me to lie to her, but I did it for both of us.

Josh- Uh, yeah that's all, you should head down they probably wanna see you.                                     
Maya- Okay but are you coming?                                                                                 Josh- Uh yeah, I'll catch up later.               Maya- Ok, see you later then.

I watched her walk away and I heard her footsteps going down the stairs. I just needed to think, get my mind sorted out.

Maya's POV

I decided to go back to Topanga's to see all my friends again. I walked in and saw all the decorations cleaned and stored away, I saw a note on the table.

Dear Peaches, we decided to go to the beach. Hope you're feeling better. Lucas said you had too much cake that's why you had to leave, hope you come along. We'll be waiting for you there. Love, Riles

I smiled at the note and ran to the beach, luckily I was wearing my flat ankle boots. My sky blue dress blew swiftly with the wind along with my jean sleeveless vest. I saw them all sitting on the sand and watching the ocean. The only open side was next to Lucas so I sat down next to him so that nobody would cause suspicion. I was about to hold his hand but then I ended up brushing my hand against his and digging my hand through the sand. It was only lunchtime and yet nobody was there, but the weather was perfect. Riley then saw me with the corner of her eye.

Riley- Hey Peaches, you're here!                                                                                                                                     

Lucas looked next to me and saw my hand buried in sand, he gently picked it up and placed on his hand. I tried so hard to crack, I slowly dug my hand back in the sand. He just smiled sneakily and looked out into the ocean.

Lucas- You know what we should do?                                                                               Farkle- What? Take off our shoes cause I'm way ahead of ya.                                 Zay- I don't think so Farkle, I think Lucas' got a better idea.                                       Riley- Okay then, what is it?                                                                                                 Lucas- We should go in the WATER!

Lucas picked me up and ran straight for the ocean I was screaming and laughing at the same time. Riley followed along on Farkle's back and Zay started to run with them. We all played in the ocean like little kids, I was playing with Riley for most of the time, splashing water, the guys were doing the same thing and splashing water at us. Before we knew it a giant wave was coming towards us, we were only on the shallow side by the shore, but the wave hit us real good. And I should know because the next thing I saw was pitch black. 

Lucas POV

Once the wave hit us all of us were washed away on shore, except-

Lucas- MAYA! Where did she go?               Riley- Oh my gosh, Maya can't swim!      Farkle- We have gotta find her!                  Zay- Again, Lucas is one step ahead again!

While they were talking, I was running towards the ocean again. I heard her, it was faint yelling, but I knew it was Maya.

Maya- RILEY! LUCAS! FARKLE! ZAY! SOMEMBODY HELP! HELP! MY FOOT IS STUCK! HELP!

I swam straight towards her and at last saw her, her whole body was almost submerged in the water and her head keeps going in and out of the water. I dunked under and carefully released all the seaweed wrapped around her leg and put her on back. I barely heard her speak.

Lucas- Maya just hold on to me and hold on tight okay, everything will be alright. Maya- Lucas? Lucas is that you?                                                                                Lucas- Yes, Maya its me. I'm right here, we're almost there.

I felt her head nod a bit and then drop slightly on my shoulder, we reached shore and Riley looked like she was crying earlier. 

Riley- Lucas! You're back you got her!                                                                         Lucas- Yeah, she's slightly out of a lot of breath.

Farkle checked her pulse quickly just to make sure.

Farkle- She'll be fine, she's breathing as if she was sleeping.         

We all woke her up and her eyes went open in 5 seconds. She looked dizzy then remembered all that just happened.

Lucas- Maya finally! Thank goodness you're-

I felt Maya pull me into a long hug and felt a tear drop on my shoulder.

Maya- Thank you, thank you for-for saving my life.                                                 Lucas- What are friends for?

She looked at me and took a deep breath, she smiled and went over to Riley. I talked to Zay and Farkle.

Zay- Well, well, well look whos Maya's superman.                                        

I laughed along with Farkle at Zay's metaphor.

Farkle- No, seriously man, you really saved her life. I bet she'll never forget that.                                   
Lucas- I know she won't.                                                                                                          Zay- What are you saying?                                                                                                     Lucas- I don't know what I'm saying anymore! I don't know how I feel!           Farkle- You like her don't you?                                                                                       Lucas- Yeah I really-no, no, I cant.                                                                                   Zay- What do you mean?                                                                                                   Lucas- Just, something happened this guy kissed her that's all.                         Farkle- Did she kiss him back?                   Zay- Or be the Maya we know, and punch him in the gut?                                 Farkle- Well it depends who the guy is.                                                                           Zay- Why does Maya like another guy?                                                                           Lucas- I don't even know if she likes me!                                                                        Zay- Oh trust me, she does. And did she kiss him back or punch him in the gut like I said?                 
Lucas- I don't know.

The girls walked over back to us in their soaking wet dresses and soggy boots and drenched hair. As we were in soaked shirts and jeans along with smelly shoes and hair.

Riley- Well this will do a lot of explaining to my dad.                          

We all nodded and decided to just walk back home and text each other to meet up somewhere or something.

Maya's POV

I walked with Riley back to their house and as we opened the door we saw all three of our parents sitting around the table looking at us.

Cory- What happened?                                                                                                       Topanga- And why do you smell like fish?                                                             Katy- You went to the beach didn't you?    
Me and Riley nodded.

Katy- Well would you look at that, who's the smart one now huh?
Cory- Ok so you were at the beach, why are you soaked?
Riley- We decided to go to the water and play a little then a giant wave hit us and-
Maya- Josh isn't here right?
Topanga- No he's out with Auggie for ice cream at the bakery. Why?
Maya- No reason. I just didn't want him to you know-
Cory- Worry?
Maya- Yeah.
Cory- He cares about you Maya.
Maya- I know that. A lot of people do.
Katy- So what happened at the beach?
Riley- A giant wave hit us and pushed us to shore, except for Maya.
Maya- My leg got stuck in seaweed and I couldn't get out.
Topanga- So what happened?
Maya- Lucas saved me.

That brought the room to a dead silence. Shortly Auggie and Josh come in from their ice cream break and saw me and Riles drenched in water.                                                     
Josh- What happened here?
Maya- Nothing happened okay!
Auggie- Something smells fishy. No seriously it smells like the ocean right now!
Josh- Did you go to the beach?
Auggie- WITHOUT ME!?
Riley- It's okay Auggie we'll go next time together.
Auggie- Your forgiven! We went for ice cream!
Maya- What flavor did ya get?
Josh- No don't change the subject! What happened?
Maya- It's no big deal.
Josh- Then why are you soaking wet?!
Maya- Josh I told you its no big deal!
Josh- It is a big deal! Something happened!
Maya- Which doesn't involve you!
Josh- You know what! My college or high school don't involve you either so I shouldn't even bother telling you!
Maya- So why did you!
Josh- Because I knew you cared!

Right when he said then my heart sunk. He was right, I did care, I cared so much. Topanga and everyone else went to the bakery to meet up with Zay, Farkle,  and Lucas. Riley changed and decided to wait for me in the hallway.

Maya- Riley you can go. I'll meet you in a sec.
Riley- Okay.

I heard her walk away. It was just me and Josh, he was mad, or he looked mad. I was so close to crying.

Maya- Why do you wanna know?
Josh- Because I know something happened to you, if something didn't then you wouldn't have told your parents.
Maya- It isn't that important,  Lucas just saved my life that's it.
Josh- That seems pretty big to me. Why didn't you want to tell me.
Maya- Isn't it that you like me?
Josh- Yeah, but that doesn't mean that if a guy like Lucas saves you like that you shouldn't keep it from me.
Maya- What are you going to do?
Josh- I'm gonna thank him.
Maya- Why?
Josh- Cause he saved your life and your life is definitely worth saving.
Maya- Thanks that means a lot.
Josh- No problem.
Maya- You're not gonna step back for him are you?
Josh- I'll be fighting forever.
Maya- Just don't hurt him.
Josh- As long as he doesn't hurt you.
Maya- Deal.
Josh- Deal.

Me and Josh were still holding hands when we walked in Topangas but then we let go and sat on opposites sides of the room. I sat next to Riley, he sat next to Auggie. We were all having so much fun, just until an unexpected visitor arrives...
