Last Chapter- Me and Josh were still holding hands when we walked in Topangas but then we let go and sat on opposites sides of the room. I sat next to Riley, he sat next to Auggie. We were all having so much fun, just until an unexpected visitor arrives...

Maya's POV

Lucas- Pappy Joe!!??

P.J- Hey Lucas!!!

Lucas- What are you doing here?

We all saw Lucas hug the stranger but then me, Riley, Farkle, and Zay remembered who he was.

Maya- Pappy Joe? As in the guy who gave Lucas the sheep good thingamabob coin?

Riley- You mean his grandfather?

Lucas- Yes Maya, this is the guy who gave me the coin.

PJ- Oh for riding Judy the Sheep?

Josh- Judy the sheep?

Zay- I wouldn't say that if I were you.

Josh- Why?

Zay- Cuz you don't mess with Texas.

PJ- Judy the sheep was a wild one, I bet she would knock you out in a doggone second. I mean look at you!

Josh- Your right Zay, don't mess with Texas.

PJ- Ah, Zay! You're here now eh?

Zay- Yes, sir! Hey one question does-

PJ- No Vanessa doesn't miss you at all! Move on! Quit the mournin!

Zay- Yessir.

Riley- So why did you come Pappy Joe?

PJ- I came to give Lucas some big news!

Lucas- What is it?

PJ- You're gonna ride Tombstone sonny!

Lucas and Zay- WHAT?!

Maya- Why is Tombstone another sheep?

I didn't really see the problem with this.

Lucas- Tombstone is a deadly bull!

Zay- Every rider that tried to face Tombstone either got seriously hurt or

Maya- NO!

Riley- Maya this can be goo-

Maya- NO! I will not let you ride that bull! End of discussion!

I stormed out of the room and back to my house, I sat on my bed and strummed some tunes on my guitar. How could they allow this? How can Riley think that this could be an opportunity for Lucas? I just kept on thinking for the rest of the day waiting for someone to find me.

Riley's POV

Riley- She'll be fine, she's Maya.

Lucas- She won't allow me to ride Tombstone.

Farkle- Then what will we do to convince her to allow you?

Josh- We could tell her that Tombstone died.

Farkle- Impossibe, a bull can live up to 50 years.

PJ- Tombstones been alive since the 90's and still is crushin people.

Before we knew it Farkle fainted, me and Uncle Josh helped him to the couch.

Zay- Maybe we could lie and tell her that Lucas will be riding Judy instead.

PJ- Now your talking Flatbutt!

Zay- You know about that?!

Riley- We all know about it.

Josh- Except me, well until now.

Zay- What did I tell you to not mess with Texas!?

Just then Zay chases Uncle Josh out of the bakery and probably ran up to Broadway, but now we had to make a choice.

Lucas- So are we going to lie to Maya?

Riley- I mean it would be for the best, when we get there we'll go to many places, and then on the day of the rodeo, we'll see what happens.

PJ- So get packing and tell Maya that Lucas here we'll be riding Judy the sheep. We'll leave Wednesday.

Me and Lucas nodded and woke up Farkle and didn't tell him the plan until we were leaving, I knew how much he hated lying to friends. We had two days to pack, so me and Maya went shopping for some country clothes. I hoped this will take Maya's mind off Texas.

----2 Days Later----

We boarded the train and I said bye to my family. I sat with Maya, Uncle Josh didn't come since he had a graduation practice today. Zay at with Farkle across from us and Lucas sat in front of me and Maya. We didn't tell Farkle about the plan yet, we decided to tell him when we get to the house. Maya stayed really quiet for the trip, I wonder if she knew our plan.

Maya POV

I didn't feel like talking on the train, I was a little upset. I knew Lucas was going to ride Tombstone, I knew they lied to me. I just wanted to see how far they would be going, but eventually I lost it.

Maya- Lucas Friar I know you're riding that bull on Friday!

Lucas- What?!

Zay- How did you know?

Farkle- Riley?

Riley- What?!

Maya- I knew you were definitely riding the bull when Lucas and Riley lied to me in my room on Monday.

Riley and Lucas- You did?

Maya- Yeah, and Lucas you can ride Tombstone, I mean how bad can it be?

Lucas nodded and everything seemed okay, well except me, I did not want him near Tombstone, let alone riding it.

~~~TIME SKIP~~~

We left the train and drove about 20 minutes to Pappy Joes place. It was very cozy, I liked it very muchIt reminded me of Shawns home upstate. Me and Riley shared a room and the guys shared a room, our rooms were right next to each other and we shared a bathroom. It was very late so me and Riley decided to call it a night.

Lucas POV

I wasn't tired at all when we got home, I decided to go up my old treehouse. It was still decent and all the things were still there, I could see Maya and Riley's room from up here. I saw Maya peacefully sleeping, I was still surprised that she knew our plan. I couldn't stop staring at her, I thought about what she said a few days ago that she's not supposed to like me. Did Riley tell her that? I knew for sure that Riley definitely did not tell Maya that, I mean she kissed Farkle! But I don't think I like Riley that kind of way. It's Maya, it's always been Maya. Just gotta tell her before Josh does...

The next day...

Maya's POV

Me and Riles were the first ones to wake up, well besides Pappy Joe. Pappy Joe was still making breakfast so we decided to change for the day.

We looked around the house a bit looking at some of the pictures on the wall, there was one picture that really interested me.

PJ- Ah, that's Lucas on his first school rodeo.

Pappy Joe seemed to recognize me staring at the picture.

Riley- Are rodeos kinda like school dances?

Pappy Joe- You could say that.

Maya-Who's that?

I looked at the girl standing next to Lucas, golden brown hair, green eyes, she was gorgeous.

PJ- Ah, Molly Jacks, Lucas couldn't get her eyes off her in 5th and 6th grade, she thought Lucas was pretty good, until he

Maya- Got suspended.

PJ- Yes, he told you.

Riley- He told all of us.

Maya- Does he still like her?

Pappy Joe and Riley looked at me for a long time, I guess they knew I cared.

PJ- I don't believe so, he hasn't talked about her ever since he's moved to New York.

Pappy Joe looked at me and Riley smiled at him then me, were they talking about me. That Lucas likes me? Then Farkle, Zay, and Lucas come out of there room and stare at me and Riley.

Lucas- Whoa.

Farkle- Wow.

Zay- Zazow.

Maya- What? Is there something on my face?

Riley- Guys stop, what are you looking at?

PJ- Their looking at you girls!

Maya and Riley- Oh.

PJ- Don't just stand there! Get changed!

The guys ran back to their room and changed, me and Riles laughed and looked at Pappy Joe.

PJ- Have you seen Lucas' treehouse?

Me and Riley shook our heads.

Riley- Where is it?

PJ- Out back, you'll find it.

Me and Riley went to the backyard and looked up at the big tree house, we climbed up and looked around. There was pictures of Lucas, Zay, Pappy Joe, Lucas' family, and what could possibly be Judy the Sheep.

Riley- It's nice.

Maya- It's more than nice, it's special. I-It's like his

Maya and Riley- Baywindow.

Lucas, Farkle, and Zay come in the tree house and we exchange smiles with them.

Farkle- Is this where you think?

Lucas- Yeah, pretty much.

Riley- This is your Baywindow

Lucas- Yeah, I do a lot of important thinkin here.

I couldn't help but stare in the chest in the back of the treehouse.

Maya- What's in the chest?

Lucas- What?

Maya- What's in the chest?

Lucas- Just some photos that I sent to Pappy Joe that I told him to put in here.

Riley- Can we look in it?

Lucas- Uh, yeah sure.

There were a ton of pictures, like from here, him and Zay, but then there were two pictures that caught my eye.

Riley seemed to notice them too.

Maya- When we're these taken?

Lucas- Oh, you weren't supposed to take those out.

Farkle- Why?

Lucas- They're just.

Zay- The first ones he sent.

Maya- But why the second one? I don't remember that one being taken.

Lucas- Pappy Joe found that one on the daily news.

Riley- Daily news?

Zay- I remember, someone saw you in New York, they were from Texas and heard about your reputation, they snapped the photo and news came out that you ran away.

Farkle- But then it would have to be someone from school.

Riley and Lucas- Charlie.

Zay- Why is he always a problem?

Maya-Why did he go to your school here?

Lucas- He was the one,

Farkle- the one who?

Lucas- No, every school has the one, the one is the schools bully, Charlie was the schools biggest bully. He would pick on Zay everytime.

PJ- That's why you should be cautious here, Charlie lives about 7 blocks away now.

Lucas- Does he still remember what happened?

PJ- Yes, very much, now come on breakfast is ready.

We all went down and into the breakfast table. I sat next to Lucas and Riley, Farkle was next to Riley and Zay.

Maya- Why did you send that first picture of you and me?

Lucas- I honestly don't know.

Riley and Farkle gave a scary stare at Lucas, did they know something that I didn't?

Riley- Is there any rodeo we can go to today?

PJ- Oh yeah, I'll drop you guys off there today and then tonight you'll be at your first real adult rodeo.

Farkle- What does that mean?

Zay- Rodeos in the day are like carnivals.

Lucas- Rodeos at nights are like dances or midnight parties, but nothing bad, Pappy Joe just makes it sound weird.

Maya- Will Charlie be there?

Lucas- Everything will be fine Maya.

After breakfast we went to the carnival rodeo, it was so fun. I got a little tired but it was worth it. After 4 long hours we went back to the house to freshen up and change for the party.

Riley POV

For the party me and Peaches wanted to wear something nice.

I wore.

Peaches wore

She said she found the hat somewhere around the house, I thought it looked good on her. The guys walked out of their room in their outfits, I must say Farkle looked good. Lucas looked stressed though, I wonder why.

Zay- I don't know where you put your hat!

Lucas- Then where is it!?

Then Maya walked out of the kitchen in her outfit and Lucas had the same dropped jaw and wide eyes as earlier.

Maya- What?

Zay- Found your hat.

Maya- What this hat?

Lucas- Uh, yeah.

Zay- It's Lucas' favorite cowboy hat.

Maya- Oh, I didn't know, do you want it back?

Maya took of the hat and handed it to Lucas just as Lucas took the hat and although they didn't want anyone to know, everyone saw their fingers intertwine as they had the hat in their hands. Lucas looked at the hat and seemed to remember how beautiful the hat looked on Maya.

Lucas- You know what?

He took the hat and placed it on Maya's head and Maya tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

Lucas- This hat looks good on you, wear it.

Maya- Okay.

Me and Farkle and Zay suspected a lot of things, we needed to make a plan.

Riley- So shall we go?

Maya- Uh yeah, let's go.

We made it to the giant tent with a stage, music, and alot of people, teenagers, older people, majority in cowboy hats.

Maya- Hey Huckleberry! We found your people!

Lucas- Very funny Maya.

Zay- D'oh! Hide me!

Zay hid behind me and Farkle.

Farkle- What the?

Riley- Zay? What are you hiding from?

Maya- Or who?

We all watched a girl our age, with black/brown wavy/curly hair, and cowgirl boots and a magenta dress with a jean vest. Zay didn't speak and nodded at her.

Zay- Vanessa.

Maya, Farkle, Riley- That's Vanessa?

She was really pretty.

Vanessa- Zay.

Zay- It's been a while.

Vanessa- Sure has.

This reminded me and Maya of a moment not to long ago.

Zay- Well, you grew up gorgeous.

Me and Maya squealed at the exact moment from a while back with Maya and Uncle Josh.

Vanessa- I missed you.

Zay- Really?

Vanessa- Yeah, but I see you're already taken by one of these girls.

Me and Maya had wide eyes, but not as big as Zay's eyes.

Maya- Uh, actually I'm with him.

Maya went closer to Lucas and Lucas played along by putting his arm around Maya. They looked at each other, but it wasn't awkward anymore, it was pretty romantic.

Farkle- Oh and-

Riley- I'm with him,

Maya, Lucas, Zay, and Farkle's faces were in surprise as I put Farkle's left arm around my waist.

Vanessa- Oh, so

Zay- Vanessa?

Vanessa- Yes?

Omg, she even says yes like Zay does!

Zay- Would you like to dance with me?

Vanessa- You're serious?

Zay- Very.

Vanessa- I'd love to.

We all smiled as we saw the tow link arms and walk to the dance floor.

Maya's POV

Lucas looked at me for a split second and then turned away, I gave a smile and turned my head the other way.

Lucas- Do you want to dance?
Maya- Wait we're actually dancing together?
Lucas- Only if you want to.
Maya- Uhm.

I was speechless, I didn't think we'd actually dance together. But now that I thought about it, I wouldn't mind if maybe one dance with Ranger Rick.

Farkle- Riley,
Riley- Farkle,
Farkle and Riley- Will you dance with me?

Me and Lucas watched our two friends finish each others sentences.

Farkle and Riley- I'd love to.

We watched them link arms into the dance floor and have a great time.

Maya- They're perfect for each other.

Oh no, what am I saying, it's Riley and Lucas, but she's made it so obvious that she's into Farkle, urgh-Riley!

Lucas- Yeah, so do you want to dance or not?
Maya- One dance Ranger Rick, if I enjoy it you got me all night, if I don't, I'll be at the snack bar.
Lucas- Deal.
Maya- Ok.

Me and Lucas linked arms into the dance floor next to Riley and Farkle. The music was upbeat so we all danced as a whole. I gotta say that I had a great time, a slow song came up and I didn't want to dance with Lucas so I tried "pushing" Riley into him.

Riley- Maya what are you doing?
Maya- Oh I'm dancing with Farkle.
Riley and Farkle- Didn't you promise to have one dance with Lucas?

I forgot about that deal.

Maya- Right.

I walked over to Lucas, he was wearing his second favorite cowboy hat, I forgot that I was wearing his first favorite hat.
I put my arms around his neck as he put his arms around my waist. I felt so uncomfortable doing it.

Lucas- So what do you wanna talk about?
Maya- I dunno. Are you gonna ride that bull?
Lucas- Yes.
Maya- Promise me one thing.
Lucas- Anything.
Maya- That if you get hurt, you call me, scream my name. That's what I did at the beach anyways.
Lucas- You think you can save me if I fall?
Maya- I'll try.
Lucas- You know what? Ms. Matthews was right.
Maya- About what?
Lucas- You are fierce.
Maya- I know.

I got really bored just swaying back and forth. I wanted some action, drama, something. There was something in Lucas' eyes that were thinking the same thing, was he? Before I know it he spins me around and dips me towards the floor, we just stay im that position staring at each others eyes. I stand up and go back to our first position, he follows and we pretend as though nothing happened.

Maya- What was that all about?
Lucas- Just needed some action.
Maya- Bored?
Lucas- Little bit.
Maya- Is there anything else to do here?
Lucas- We could sit by a campfire.
Maya- That sounds nice.

So me and Lucas called Riley and Farkle, Zay decided to stay with Vanessa and walk her home. We headed back to the house.
