9- suspicious

I walked out of the small hole in the side of the hill pushing the plank of wood to the side. The sun had started to set, painting the sky with beautiful shades of orange and red.

I started my walk back to the town. I made a wide circle to get to the side of the town that my old cabin was on, the trees slowly scattered into the dead forest. Ash still littered the ground along with burnt branches and trees. I reached my cabin. The once cute little building, now just a burnt crisp of a couple of walls. The roof had caved in, and one of the walls had collapsed opening the building to the outside. My ears dropped looking at the building that used to hold my life.

I turned around and started my walk to manburg. By the time I reached the border the sky had turned dark, the only light coming from the lamps that lit the paths. I was quickly making my way to the van, attempting to not be caught. I was nearly in the van before a voice cut through the silence of the night.

"(Y/N)."

I turned to face the voice, faced with an old friend. His orange and white hair almost glowed in the light coming from the torches. His large fox ears were pinned against his head as he looked at me with stern eyes.

"Fundy!" I smiled at him trying to hide the guilt in my voice, "what are you doing out here so late?"

"Where were you?" He said sternly, ignoring my question.

"Hey! I asked first," I let out an airy laugh.

"(Y/N) if you do not answer my question I will have to report you as a potential traitor."

"What!" I said startled, "Fundy, you think I could be a traitor?"

"Actually I do," he said in a matter of fact voice, "so where were you?"

"I went on a walk," I said, "I needed some fresh air."

"Really?" He asked, tilting his head to the side, "you took a full day long walk?"

He caught me off guard with that, "I- I went to my old place, and fell asleep," I stumbled on my words trying to come up with a believable story.

"Or did you go visit Wilbur and Tommy?"

"You have no proof of that," I raised my voice trying to defend myself.

"Actually I do."

"What?"

"The L'Manberg charm necklace you're wearing around your wrist," he pointed to my wrist that had the necklace tied around it, "Dream gave it to Tommy after he took you."

I stood dumbfounded. Unable to defend myself from his observations.

"Come on (Y/N)," he looked upset with me, "don't make this harder than it has to be." Fundy held out his hand waiting for me to hand myself over to him.

"Fundy!" Another voice rang through the night as quick footsteps came up behind me, "hey, what's going on here?" Quackity snuck behind me, his hands resting on my shoulders. He had to feel how tense I was, and if he couldn't feel it he could see it. My ears had flattened backward and my tail was stuck between my legs.

Quackity and Fundy stared at each other seemingly communicating in silence.

"(Y/N)," Quackity whispered, leaning his head down towards my ear, "you wouldn't happen to know where our two little convicts are, would you?"

"Why would I know that quackity," I tried to push him off me but his grip stayed firm on my shoulders.

"You know, if you're withholding information from us we will have no option but to report you as a traitor," he sighed letting his grip loosen but not remove from my shoulders, "and Shlatt's not too fond of traitors."

"I don't know where Tommy and Wilbur are," I used the opportunity to shrug my way out of quackity's grip, "and even if I did, why would I tell you." I turned my tail swishing behind me as I made my way to the van. I stepped into the old van closing and locking the door behind me, leaving the two behind.

I stepped into the back of the van quietly, Tubbo seemed to already be asleep on his cot. I reached up, grabbing the handle for my bed, pulling it down and climbing under the covers.

"So," Tubbo rolled over in his cot to face me, "how are they?"

"They seem to be doing ok," I replied, "they have someone helping them, his name is technoblade."

"They got techno!" Tubbo shot up in his cot making me sit up myself and face him.

"Ya? What's so surprising about that?"

"He normally hides away, last I heard he was farming potatoes," the boy laughed a little.

"Well he still is," I giggled with him.

"He will turn the tides," Tubbo said, laying back down.

"Well i'm going to go to sleep," I layed back down curling back up.

"Night"

"Goodnight"
