Chapter 6

"Caught on have you. Took you long enough." Harry smiled at the red head who looked at his best friend.

"Wasn't just me who thought you'd done it. Everyone was saying it behind your back." Harry sighed and look down.

"Brilliant. That makes me feel loads better." Harry mumbled and looked back at Ron.

----

"Do you think I could go get that Pruvian Vipertooth and make it my pet?" Olivia asked her Draco, who looked down at her.

"I doubt it love, but if you want I can get you a plushy of one." Olivia smiled and sighed happily as Snowball walked over and rubbed agented the two teens.

----

"At least I warned you about the dragons." Ron said and Harry looked at Ron like he was stupid.

"Hagrid warned me about the dragons."

"Oh no no, I did. Don't you remember? I told Hermione to tell you that Seamus told me that Parvati told Dean that Hagrid was looking for you. Seamus never actually told me anything, so it was really me all along. I thought you'd be alright, you know, after you figured that out." Harry laughed a little.

"Who could possibly figure that out? That's completely mental." The both smiled at this.

"Yeah it is isn't it. Suppose I was a bit distraught."

"Boys." Hermione said as she watched the two make up.

----

Olivia watched Harry, who was looking at Cho. When Cho looked back Harry spilled drink from his mouth. Olivia laughed at her older brother with everyone else who saw.

"Look at this! I can't believe it she's done it again. Miss Granger a plain but ambitious girl seems to be developing a taste for famous wizards. Her latest prey sources report is none other than the Bulgarian bon-bon Viktor Krum. No word yet on how Harry Potter's taking this latest emotional blow." Olivia rolled her eyes at what Reta had written, she was glad that it had nothing about her threatening the wizard.

A young boy walks up holding a package. "Parcel for you Mr. Weasley." Olivia grabbed Draco's hand and pulled him over to the Gryffindor table.

"Thank you Nigel." Nigel was gazing at Harry and Ron shook his head. "Not now Nigel. Later. Go on." Nigel left as Olivia and Draco sit down next to Harry, Hermione, and Ron. "I told him I'd get him Harry's autograph. Oh look mum's sent me something. Mum sent me a dress?" Olivia laughed at Ron as he looked at the dress robes.

Draco pulled Olivia closer as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Well it does match your eyes. Is there a bonnet?" Olivia asked as they looked at the clothes.

"Ginny these must be for you." Ron tried to pass off the clothes to his younger sister. Ginny looked at the dress robes in disgust.

"I'm not wearing that it's ghastly." Hermione and Olivia laughed at Ron as he looked at them.

"What are you on about?" He asked the two girls. Olivia choked on her pumpkin juice.

"I'd rather have to suck Merlin's left tit than to put those on." Draco laughed and rolled his eyes. He loved this girl dearly.

"They're not for Ginny they're for you! Dress robes." Hermione told him and he looked confused.

"Dress robes? for what?"

----

"The yule ball has been a tradition of the tri-wizard tournament since its inception. On Christmas eve night we and our guests gather in the great hall for well mannered frivolity. As representitives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the yule ball is first and foremost a dance." Groans emerged from the boys who were listening on.

The girls were a lot more excited.

"Silence. The house of Godrick Griffindore has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons." Olivia laughed quietly from McGonagall's last sentence.

Fred turned to George and whispered. "Try saying that five times faster." The two boys tried to get through the sentence.

"Now to dance is to let the body breathe, inside every girl a secret swan slumbers longing to burst forth and take flight."

Turned to Seamus and whispered. "Something's about to burst out of Hilary, but I don't think it's a swan."

"Inside every boy a lordly lion prepared to prance. Mr Weasly, will you join me." She grabbed Ron and pulled him up to dance.

"Now, place your right hand on my waist."

"Where?"

"My waist." He did so and a wolf whistle came from the crowd. "Now bend your arm. Mr Filch." The music start and Olivia hummed along.

"One two three, one two three, one two three."

Harry looked up to the Weasley twins. "Oi! Never gonna let him forget this are you?" He asked with a smile.

"Never." The two laughed and looked at Ron and McGonagall.

"Everybody come together." The girls instantly stood and walk forward, the boys were all still seated. "Boys, on your feet." Neville was the only boy to stand.

——

"Why do they always have to travel in packs? How are you supposed to get one alone to ask them." Harry asked Ron as they looked at a group of girls.

"Blimey Harry, you slayed dragons. If you can't get a date who can?" Olivia laughed at the two boys as she walked with her group of friends.

"I think I'd take the dragon right now." Olivia's friends giving them icy looks and turning their backs.

----

Hagrid and Madame Maxime were walking together. "I take after my mum. Though I didn't know her very well, she left when I was about three. No, not the maternal sort her, broke my dad's heart though. You know he was a tiny little fellow my dad, I could pick him up with one hand by the age of six and put him up in the dresser." They laughed together, have a moment.

"And then he died when I was still in school. So I had to make me own way as it were. But enough of me, what about you!"

Viktor Krum was training and a group of girls were following him around. He looked like he wanted to leave badly.

-----

"This is mad. At this rate we'll be the only ones in our year without dates." Severus Snape walked past and slapped Ron over the head.

"Well, us and Neville and Olivia!" Ron said loudly and Olivia looked up from her book.

"But then again he can take himself." Harry said about Neville and Olivia snorted. She looked back down at her book as Snape walked near.

"It might interest you to know that Neville's already got someone." Olivia smiled and looked at Ron who was shocked. She really didn't like him at the moment.

Ron gasped. "Now I'm really depressed."

Fred handed Ron a note, it read "GET A MOVE ON OR ALL THE GOOD ONES WILL HAVE GONE!" Olivia gave Fred a thumbs up as he passed her a chocolate frog.

"Well Hermione, you're a girl." Olivia's head snaps up so fast her neck cramped. Harry had the same fear on his face that Olivia had.

"Oh well spotted." Hermione said as Olivia and her trade books.

"Come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl it's just sad."

"I won't be going alone because believe it or not someone's asked me. And I said yes." Olivia sighed and glared at Ron.

"Bloody hell." Hermione stormed off leaving Olivia alone with the two morons.

"Look. We've just got to grit our teeth and do it. Tonight when we get back to the common room, we'll both have partners. Agreed?"

"Agreed."

——

Harry was walking up some stepped and as he reached the top, he bumped into Cho who came around the corner. "Harry!"

"Cho!"

"Watch yourself on the stairs, it's a bit icey at the top." Cho told the boy who was still on a lower step than Cho.

"Ok thanks. Cho?" Harry finally had the courage to ask her the question.

"Yes?"

"Um, I just wondered if maybe you wanted to go to the ball with me?" Harry mumbled and Olivia smiled from her hiding spot. She hopped that Cho would say yes.

"Sorry? I didn't catch that."

"Um. I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to go to the ball with me."

"Oh. Um. Harry I'm sorry but someone's already asked me. And well I've said I'll go with him." Ooh thats got to hurt, he waited to long to ask her.

"Ok. Great. Fine. No problem. Good." Harry tired to play it off, acting like it didn't hurt him.

"Harry I really am sorry." Cho said before walk away with snow falling around her.

----

Ron was being helped into the room, he looks shaky. "What happened to you?" Harry asked Olivia as she sat Ron down.

"He just asked Fleur Delacour out." Olivia laughed at the boy and yawned.

"What?" Hermione asked and Olivia giggled again.

"What did she say?" Harry asked and Olivia shrugged.

"No of course." Ron shakes his head and stayed quiet. "She said yes?"

"Don't be silly." Olivia told the girl and sat down next to the arm fire.

"There she was walking by. You know I like it when they walk. I couldn't help it, it just sort of slipped out." Ron told them and Olivia belted out a laugh.

"Actually he sort of screamed at her, it was a bit frightening." She told the group as she pulled out a lolly pop from her pocket.

"What did you do then?" Harry asked and Olivia looked over at him.

"What else? I ran for it. I'm not cut out for this Harry. I don't know what got into me." The Patil twins walked past.

"Hi Harry."

"Hey!"

——

Soft music plays and everyone is well dressed, gathered in the hall. Olivia and Hermione were getting ready together just like Harry and Ron.

Ron was getting dressed in front of a mirror. He looked panicked and uncomfortable in his ridiculous dress robes. "Bloody hell." Harry walked in, he's dressed in a more conventional suit. "What are those?" Ron asked Harry as he looked at Harry's dress robes.

"My dress robes."

"Well they're alright. No lace, no dodgy little collar." Harry rolled his eye and watched Ron.

"Well I expect yours are more traditional."

"Traditional?? They're ancient! I look like my great aunt Tessie." Ron sniffed at his clothes and scrunched up his noses. "I smell like my great aunt Tessie. Murder me Harry."

Harry and Ron were walking down the stairs into the hall. Ron was fidgeting with his outfit. "Leave it alone."

"Poor kids, bet they're alone in her room crying their eyes out." Ron said and Harry looked over at Ron confused.

"Who?" Harry asked Ron as they waited for their dates.

"Hermione and Olivia of course. Come on Harry, why'd you think they wouldn't tell us who they're coming with?" Ron asked and Harry rolled his eyes.

"First of all, Olivia has told us who she's coming with. And second of all, we'd take the mickey out of her if she did." Ron looked at at Harry with wide eyes.

"Because nobody asked her. I would have taken her myself if she weren't so bleeding proud. And Olivia never told us who she's coming with." The boys approached the Patil twins.

"Hello boys. Don't you look." She looks at Ron. "Dashing." Harry smiled over at Ron.

"Here you are Potter. Are you and Miss Patil ready?" Professor McGonagall asked Harry and Patil. Harry looked at his professor with confusion.

"Ready professor?" Harry asked and looked at McGonagall.

"To dance. It's traditional that the three champions or in this case five are the first to dance. Surely I told you that."

"No."

"Oh well now you know. Oh, as for your Mr. Weasley you may proceed into the great hall with Miss Patil." Ron walked out with Patil walking along side him.
