13 || A Journey's End, A New Life

"I swear to the Raiden Shogun, you seriously get on my fucking nerves."

"Yes, yes. I love you too, Heizou. In a brother way. Don't take that the wrong way."

"What if I DO? Hm? ACK!"

Sara bonked Heizou on the head and glared at him. She conveyed the message, "Shut the fuck up before I ban you from Ritou and you know what happens if you can't come to Ritou?" Heizou immediately went quiet. He obviously knew what she was telling him.

Y/n smiled at her two closest friends. It had been a long time since she heard Heizou's teasing and saw Sara being overprotective in a subtle way. Suddenly, as if she had a eureka moment, Y/n ran onto the Crux and came back dragging Kazuha behind her.

"You two probably, most likely, know Kazuha, right? Now, since you two are my best friends and Kazuha is now my boyfriend, I hope the three of you can get along."

The tenryou members agreed quickly, knowing Y/n's temper could get the better of her if they didn't. Kazuha nodded with a smile like he didn't have a care in the world. Of course, a little tension between at least Sara and Kazuha was to be expected.

The four walked around Ritou and talked about upcoming plans and recent events. Although there were a few friendly arguments here and there, they had a great time.

"You two should come back for the Irodori Festival!"

"It's just speculation right now, Heizou."

"Come on. I've heard Lady Guuji's really set on holding the festival and there's no way the Yashiro Commission would turn down an event to lighten the people's moods after the vision hunt decree ended!"

Y/n shrugged and continued to walk on the edge of the sidewalks. She had heard about the rumors that the Irodori Festival would take place this year, but had decided to ignore them since they were, after all, just rumors. Usually during the Festival, invites are sent out to people of all kinds from different nations as a special guest, or something like that. Y/n glanced at Kazuha and figured he would probably be invited.

"Kazuha, can't you convince her to come to the festival? You are dating after all."

The samurai laughed in response. "I'm sure you'd know how to convince her better than I can. Y/n's pretty stubborn."

"I never said I wasn't going!"

"So you're coming?"

"I never said that either, Sara!"

(One Year Later...)*

The sounds of people chattering filled Inazuma's streets. It has been a year since the ending of the vision hunt decree and the people are a lot more livelier now. Many merchants, travelers, and people from all over Teyvat have started coming now as well.

"Look, it's Miss Y/n! Miss Y/n! Hi hi!"

A group of children came charging towards the surprised woman, trapping her in a large group hug. Y/n laughed as the children began jumping up and down and running around, asking her to play with them.

"You all are so lively today! You haven't done anything bad right? Itto hasn't stolen candy from you either?"

"No! No!" They all replied in unison.

"I've got you!" a voice yelled, picking up two of the kids, "You naughty children. Forgot to tell your parents you were going out to play."

The two kids whined while some laughed and some rushed to rescue their friends. Heizou continued to run around, dodging the children, somehow still holding the two from before in his arms. The detective has never been all that athletic, but had a decent amount of stamina.

"I have to go do something real quick. Babysit the children while I'm gone! Thanks, Heizou!" Y/n said as she slyly left the scene.

"Captain Beidou!"

There wasn't a response from the loud captain and only the workers on board looked at her before continuing their work. Y/n frowned and went searching for Beidou, to no avail.

"Y/n, I thought I told you that Captain Beidou wouldn't be back until the evening." Kazuha laughed behind her.

The annoyed woman sighed. "And where'd you come from? Last I checked, you were out doing some matters with the traveler somewhere."

Kazuha rubbed his neck awkwardly and walked up to Y/n, taking her hand in his. He led her outside and turned around with a smile.

"How about a walk until the Captain comes back to make it up to you? It has been a while since we came back to Inazuma after all."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nearby the Grand Narukami Shrine, just down below, a dulled and chipped sword stuck out of the ground, a lifeless vision on a stone and a small white cat never left the spot. Y/n knew the importance of this place and when arriving, allowed Kazuha to stand in silence for a moment. The sky was filled with wonderful shades of purples, blues, pinks, and yellows as the sun slowly set. Captain Beidou surely would be back soon. Every time the two went on a walk in Inazuma, the last place they would visit would be the grave of Kazuha's old friend.

"Alright. Let us go back now. I'm sure the Captain will arrive soon."

"She probably wouldn't care if we're back right now though. Actually, I'm sure she would find this to be the norm."

Kazuha sat down next to his lover under a tree nearby and looked up at the sky that she was mesmerized by. A comfortable silence hung over the two until they both decided to head back, hand in hand.

Just before going back to the Crux. A maple leaf fell from the tree in Ritou's center and caught Kazuha's attention. He paused and let it fall into his other hand. Watching him, Y/n smiled. Perhaps she now understands why people love maple leaves.

"Maple leaves always come around the right times don't they?"  Y/n laughed.

A/N: *Awkward laughing* I decided that I'm finishing the story here because of school and my lack of motivation. If you didn't notice, the last line Y/n says is the same as the first line in the story in chapter one. I'll add one more chapter dedicated to facts about the story and some things I planned to add, etc. if you want to see that. Thank you for reading "My First and Last!"
