12 || Fight Until You Drop

A/N: I can't think of any more haikus so no more. Sorry.

The room had been turned upside down. Lights flickered, tables were flipped over, chairs were broken, and only the two men stood in the middle, fighting. Each had minor injuries and there was little blood. As Kazuha was once a wanted criminal, he had already adjusted to Kai's fighting style and his surroundings. Kai on the other hand wasn't as fortunate, only having a small dagger and still adjusting to changes to the room.

"Now I remember... you're the guy that blocked the Musou no Hitotachi. Aren't you?"

Kazuha had no reaction to Kai's words and continued to stand there, readying his sword. In a flash, multiple daggers were thrown towards the samurai. Caught slightly off guard, he was unable to dodge one, stabbing his non-dominant arm.

"Tsk. If only it had gotten your leg. It would've immobilized you a little."

"Panicking already, Kai?" Kazuha replied in a mocking tone.

His words provoked the other, resulting in Kai lunging towards him. Kazuha moved over and now that Kai wasn't blocking the door he was able to get out of the house before he recovered.

The sound of fighting and breaking furniture reached Y/n's ears and she turned to the sound. It came from her house. Something bad was happening. Granny Ruoxin was coming back with the tea when she was stopped by Y/n.

"Granny Ruoxin, please get to a safer spot."

The old woman quickly understood and turned back around. By the time Y/n could not see her, more footsteps were heard behind her. Besides her father, there were many treasure hoarders as well. Y/n assumed he had bribed the hoarders into helping him.

"Dear daughter, you know it's quite rude to disobey your own father?"

"Of course. I deeply apologize for my actions, but..." Y/n began, bowing. Her father waited for her to finish and she glanced up with a wicked smile, "This isn't anything new is it?"

Suddenly two treasure hoarders had fallen. In Y/n's hands was a bow. She had only two arrows and made sure her first attack would be able to catch her enemy off guard. Glancing at the number of enemies left she turned and ran into the darkness and hid herself.

"Find her. You know your job."

As the treasure hoarders began looking for her, she could hear the sounds of crunching leaves and snapping twigs. They continued to get closer and once one came in sight, Y/n sprung out with her sword getting rid of another few. Her eyes had adjusted to the darkness quickly and she ran through the bushes and around the houses. Even with the dim lighting, the hoarders had a hard time following her.

"Boo."

All treasure hoarders were now out of the picture.

"Tell me, Father. What's your goal in all this?"

The tall h/c haired man quietly sat at the table. He had an intimidating aura around him making Y/n keep her distance. She could see him thinking deeply with his claymore by his side.

"Would you like to know how your mother died?"

"What did you do...?"

The man burst into laughter and stood up, taking his claymore into his hands. He no longer looked like the calm and serious man Y/n had always known him to be. To Y/n, he looked more psychotic than she could've ever imagined him to be.

'You're still so naive.'

'How can anyone be so stupid?'

'Your own mother died and it was because of you.'

'You didn't know that did you?'

'If only I had poisoned you back then just like I did to that wench!'

'If only I could've seen the look on her face when she found out what happened!'

'If only...'

'You had died with her.'

'How spectacular would that have been?'

Upon reaching the meeting spot, Kazuha could feel the air grow cold and spikes of ice traced the pathway. He saw Y/n panting, her breath becoming steam in the freezing air. Her father stood on his knees, using his weapon as support. Blood dripped from many places on the older male and shards of ice were all over the place.

Kazuha had just taken another step closer when Y/n began to fall. Her stamina had been wiped out. She fell onto the cold wooden floor, her sword making a loud clash as it fell with her. Kazuha ran up and took her in his arms. When he looked up at the injured man, he had already disappeared. Only traces of blood remained where he last stood.

Tightly hugging Y/n, he quietly apologized for not being able to realize things sooner. The cryo vision in Y/n's hand shone brightly as the moon quietly watched over and the night became calm once more.

A/N: In a lot of other ffs I've read, I've seen comments about how people were annoyed that Y/n was so weak so I tried to make Y/n in this story pretty strong/decently strong. Hope it meets all of your expectations.
