Jay's POV

I was lying here in a hospital bed, in a lot of pain, but all I want to do is see Emma and find out what's happening. There's a light knock on the door.

"Come in" I croaked. And in entered Siva, he weakly smiled and said "hi" he came and sat down next to me and didn't say anything for what felt like an hour.

"I've come in here to talk to you about Emma" he said slowly. My stomach dropped and I think he could tell by the reaction on my face and he quickly continued. "Emma had complications as we know due to the pregnancy, however, when we left and you got that phone call Emma went into a coma." He then paused. "She could come around at any point and the doctors are really hopeful that she will make a full recovery. But, I don't know how to say this but, I'm really sorry but the baby didn't make it, he was starved of oxygen and they tried everything in their power to save him but nothing. I am really sorry Jay.'

I just looked at him, my eyes piercing with tears.

He then left me to deal with it.

I must have sat there for about an hour thinking it all through. I would obviously have to tell Emma, she was going to be devastated. I'd only know for a day and i felt like a complete mess so i knew I'd have to be there for her for a while after breaking the news. I was going to stick around obviously I loved her but I just couldn't wait to be a family despite only knowing her a few days, like Tom and Siva have said when you know, you know. I knew I wanted Emma and everything that came with her.

The nurse came in to check up on me. "Can I go and see my girlfriend please?"

"Once I have checked your blood pressure you can. Would you like me to bring in one of your friends to go with you?"

"If you don't mind yes".

She left and came back with Siva.

She took my blood pressure and she went to get me a wheelchair not that I needed one, but I wasn't in the mood for arguing. Siva just sat there emotionless. The nurse came back with the chair and both her and Siva helped me in, I must admit I'm glad they got a chair as I was as far away as possible from Emma.

The nurse left me in the chair outside Emma's room and Siva wheeled me in.

She lay there motionless, she could have been dead but I knew she wasn't. Machines everywhere beeping but I had every faith that she would be around soon, so I could tell her the devastating news. I was thinking of a way to tell her when my thoughts disappeared when there was a knock on the door.

Siva opened it to find a women who looked very much like Emma and a girl around the same age as Emma.

"Jay?" Asked the younger girl

"Yeah, who's asking?"

"I'm Chloe, Emma's best friend and this is her mum Julie". She smiled. I smiled back.

"Who is this?" Julie asked.

"I'm Jay, Emma's boyfriend."

She looked at me in disgust."

"I didn't know Emma had a new boyfriend, its news to me." Chloe jumped in; "neither did I."

It was pretty awkward but it had all happened so fast. Siva sat there with nothing to say and the whole room suddenly felt silent for about the next ten minutes.

"I don't want to cause any trouble between you and your daughter Miss Parry" "Please call me Julie." She smiled.

"Julie, I know I've not known your daughter for very long and we did lose touch but when she came and found me and she collapsed at the signing my heart felt like it had been crushed. I love your daughter and I was prepared to love her and look after her and Matts child as if he was my own."

"The baby" Chloe said.

I just looked with sadness in my eyes and explained the whole story of getting to the hospital after the signing and then my accident and when I was told that baby didn't make it.

Julie just burst into tears. "Thank you for being here for her Jay". She placed her hand on my knee and gave it a squeeze.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else In the world right now than by Emma's side. I'm so lucky that I'm not in a coma myself after the accident but I will be here until she is out and supporting her with the rest of the lads."

"Lads, there's more than one of you?" Julie looked puzzled.

"Oh god no, I meant my bandmates"

"Your in a band, she never told me that." I just smiled and Chloe nipped in "sorry I forgot to mention that to you Jules".

We all exchanged glances between one another.

There was a knock on the door it was Tom.

"We're going to head off, the girls are getting pretty tired, do you mind?"

"No mate, that's fine. I'll probably see you tomorrow??"

"Yeah you sure will, give us an update on Emma of there is any?"

"Yeah I will, cheers Tom".

"I presume that's one of your band mates?" Julie questioned. "Yeah, that's Tom, he's been a massive help, if it wasn't for him being so forward and inquisitive with the doctor then we wouldn't have know what had happened to Emma as none of us were next of kin".

"I will have to thank him later". Julie said with a smile.

There was a ruffle of bed sheets. "Emma??" I turned around.

"What happened?" She croaked.

"Your still in hospital your going to be alright, just complications with the pregancy"

'The baby?" Her eyes lit up, I couldn't tell her that the baby was gone. I looked at Julie and she walked over to Emma and places her hand around her daughters chin and looked deep into her eyes. Julie was welling up but stayed strong. "He didn't make it sweetheart, I am really sorry. The doctors tried everything to save him but he lost the fight".

She just cupped Emma in her arms and I heard Emma blubber. The cries got louder and louder, my eyes started to well up and the tears soon came tumbling down. Through the tears I managed to get out;

"Can I have a moment alone with her?" Julie moved away and said "of course" she looked at her daughter and said "I'll just be outside if you need me okay" she kissed her on the forehead and Emma just nodded.

Everyone left the room allowing us to speak...
