Ch.27 - Stress

Ch.27 - Stress

In between the time of returning home and moving to the dorms, a lot of things happened, and very few things changed back to normal; because what was normal? Senshi knew how her parents acted was normal, they told her that themselves.

(But she felt like she shouldn't believe them, after all they are the ones who made her feel down)

Though two things, two of her favourite things actually, returned to normal. Figure skating and piano. The national competition for figure skating was in as little as three weeks, and with the past week of no practice, stress was a big thing for Senshi. Senshi was an overthinker, which meant if someone was going to say something to her, she had most likely planned it out in her head, hence why she freezes up when someone says something unexpected.

And what comes with being an overthinker, is unnecessary stress. Though stress for Senshi is biting her lip raw (which she didn't know was technically a form of self harm), twirling her hair around her finger, hyper focusing on tasks, and being a little more irritable.

Though she didn't want anyone to worry more than the probably were due to the kidnapping, so just fake a small smile, and keep being yourself (what was 'herself'?).

"Given everything that has happened I'm glad we're able to bring class A back together." Aizawa-sensei began, class 1A stood outside of the new dorm building. The class had their own dorm building that had a brick exterior, and the shape of a square castle.

Most began to talk amongst themselves about whether it was hard to convince their parents or not, a conversation that Seshi didn't want to be a part of. Senshi didn't remember the encounter of her teachers coming over word for word, but when she thought of it, all she could think of was manipulation. Senshi's mother, Natsuko, is the louder of the parents, whereas Tantei , her father, is more calm and slightly more compassionate. That doesn't mean that neither can't act like the other.

"We're glad we got to see the teachers got to come back too, I was afraid you wouldn't be allowed. The people at the press conference seemed pretty upset with you guys." Asui pointed out, others nodding along.

"I was surprised as well, but circumstances have changed. I guess it was easier for administration to let the teachers stay instead of re-vamping the entire faculty. Now then, I will explain how your dorm assignments will work shortly but first however, we haven't forgotten about the provisional hero licences you were supposed to get while you were at the training camp." Aizawa-sensei responded. Oh yeah, that's what they were there for; not to be attacked.

"Oh yeah that's what we were there for." Satou remarked.

"So much has happened it totally slipped my mind." Ashido added.

"This is important so listen well, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida, you five were the ones who broke the rules and went to go rescue Bakugo and Tāte that night." People shrunk back in their stance when Aizawa-sensei said that. "Based on your reactions I guess all of you were at least aware of their plans. I'm going to set aside a number of issues and just say this, if it weren't for All Might's retirement from the hero scene, I would expel everyone here except for Bakugo, Tāte, and Jiro. The five of you who went of course but also the remaining thirteen who didn't stop them. You betrayed our trust, even if it was to keep your friends from getting into trouble. In order to regain our confidence, you'll need to obey every rule to the letter and live as model students, that's all. Now look alive enjoy you're new home." Aizawa-sensei finished, walking inside.

The moment Aizawa-sensei finished, Katuski grabbed Kaminari by the collar and dragged him behind the bush. "Cm'ere." Katsuki mumbled. Senshi was wondering what he was doing, though a zap of electricity was more than enough for her to know.

Though after letting the electric user go and giving a certain red-head a wad of cash, Senshi understood him; which was honestly relieving. Senshi had had enough of not understanding, so really, seeing her class was a relief.

Actually walking inside of the dorm was a much different experience than being outside of it. The inside was a rather minimalistic designed; most likely for budget reasons. To add on to that, there were tall windows that let in a lot of natural light, and if that's not enough, there's also a courtyard.

"Living quarters start on the next floor four boys and four girls on each level, everyone gets their own room, you should be comfortable. You've got your own AC, toilets, fridges and closets." Aizawa-sensei explained.

"We have balconies!" Midoriya marvelled

"It's about the same size as my closet at home but I'll manage." Yaoyorozu sighed.

"It's the size of my house." Uraraka said passing out on the floor.

The dorm rooms themselves were roughly about the same size as Senshi's bathroom in her house, but Senshi wasn't focusing much, her mind elsewhere.

She had to give up piano. Not because she wanted to, and she would still practice alone, but seeing as she was in the dorms now, it would be extremely inconvenient for Senshi to travel home at least five times a week. Not being able to see her Nana did once again bring a slightly homesickness to Senshi, though not to her house, but to the people she actually loved and would miss.

Senshi mindlessly walked around with the tour for the fifteen minutes that it lasted, her black hair in a messy bun at her neck. Senshi's skin was no longer pale with exhaustion, but her eyes showed that she was constantly thinking about something that wasn't what she should be thinking about.

Next step, decorating her dorm.

Her bed was up pushed against the corner, though most importantly, Tsuki's bed was on the floor at the bottom of her bed; though half the time the feline didn't even use it. Her bedsheets were white, though she did have a blue fluffy blanket that she folded at the end of her bed.

In Senshi's opinion, a keyboard will never live up to being a piano. It just doesn't feel the same, but it will have to do because quite frankly, there isn't space for a piano if Senshi wants to be able to move.

Senshi had a dark brown wooden desk, the colour matching her bed frame. On said desk she had two of her favourite trophies plus her sports festival medal, as well as this, it was mainly simple school stuff, such as a laptop, books, and anything  else Senshi deemed necessary; that being a small plant.

Now, unpacking her clothes, where to begin. Senshi had quiet a lot of clothes, not an  crazy amount, but due to figure skating she had not only training clothes but competition dresses. And then she had to put and training equipment in her closet somehow, it was very cramped, but it worked.

Senshi made sure that Tsuki had his collar on, and then opened the door to the balcony, Tsuki seeming quiet fond of it. Tsuki wasn't an outdoor cat, but he of course did like go outside sometimes. Therfore, on the balcony, Senshi put a little mat, just incase.

What! Maybe Senshi spoiled him a little, but with all the times Tsuki had been there fore Senshi, he deserved it. Senshi had changed from her school clothes into casual clothes before she started decorating, her 'casual' cloths consisting of the UA training uniform pants, and a plain lilac shirt.

Senshi sat on her bed, Tsuki having fun with a cat toy that Senshi had brought from her house. Senshi simply found that watching her cat was actually really therapeutic, seeing someone else have fun, the person being so cute no less.

Senshi was aware that she probably needed to go downstairs, because.... socialising, but she needed some quality time to think. About her parents that is.

Senshi can acknowledge that she should have been slightly more aware of her surroundings, and seeing as she is the person she is, Senshi can own up to mistakes she made. But looking at the situation from another point of view (something Henjiru was extremely good at), the fault lay completely on her parents. Not letting Senshi voice her opinion was wrong, but what else...... nothing. Because it was normal... right?

Every family fought, right?

Even Bakugo said that he fights occasionally with his family.

'Yes but your family fights every day, Senshi.'

Nah, it had to be normal because both her mom and her dad said so. And she (doesn't) trust(s) them.

********

It was the next day now, the weather still being surprisingly hot considering Autumn was most certainly on its way. The class were due to begin working on improving before the provisional licensing exam, though before that, the class were due to do some rescue theory. It was a Summer school type thing, but it was actually crucial if they wanted to pass.

Senshi, once again, did something stupid. She, being the over thinker she is, Senshi managed to stress herself out even more. How? Well, thinking about the argument she had, and how her parents were actually working together, yet they only seemed to do that if it mean that Senshi was around. Were they actually trying to gang up on her?

Yaoyorozu seemed to notice her stress, and with a small and innocent smile, which was all the Senshi could offer, Senshi replied "I'm fine thank you, just adjusting."

(Which was a total lie and Senshi knew it, but why would she complain about her parents? They're completely normal...)

She was tired; but the stars listened and the universe watched as she lied to the world, her friends, her family, that she was okay. And if she kept it up like that, she would definitely not be 'okay' whatsoever.

(And that time would come quickly)

This lesson on how to handle a rescue was only going to last an hour, mainly because the teachers needed to teach theory but wanted to teach the practical. The class was thirty minutes in, and safe to say that Senshi felt weird.

She had a slight headache, and felt rather.... dethatched from reality. It seemed like she blinked once and the lesson was already half-way done. She had no notes, and the board was full of them.

(She missed Aizawa-sensei concerned look)

She had to write fast, and her hand writing became sloppy because she was so fast, though it wasn't just that, she did feel like she was herself. It wasn't like 'Oh I feel a little sick today', no, it was like an sort of out of body experience.

Controlling her movements was complex, like trying to move the strings on a puppet. She felt nauseous, okay, now Senshi was freaking out. Having unnaturally bad control of your limbs is going to freak someone out.

Senshi was attempting to say something along the lines of 'Can I go to the bathroom, I don't feel good', but what actually came out was a jumbled gibberish mess that caught everyone's attention very quickly. The room went into a silence, people looking at Senshi with a joking concern.

"Tāte, if you have a question, speak-" Aizawa-sensei began, his attention turning back to the board before there was an echoing sound of metal screeching on the floor, a chair most likely, though what was most concerning was the thump of something definitely falling on the floor.

He turned around only to hear and see students shouting in panic, and then looking down, he saw exactly why. It made sense, the jumbled speech that is. The girl was having a seizure, and no one knew why.

Bakugo had to have been the loudest of his students, and for once he was going to have to tell the boy to shut up. "Move the desks!" Aizawa-sensei called out.

That was the first instruction, as the jerking of her limbs were definitely going bruise if they kept hitting the desks and chairs. Some of the girls were tearing up as different students were frantically moving the desks and chairs "Iida, get recovery girl!" Iida wasted no time in running off.

Aizawa-sensei used his scarf to support Senshi's neck, while trying to think what could have caused it. Now all everyone could do was wait for it to be over, because restraining someone having a seizure is dangerous, it's the equivalent of trying to lift something too heavy (that is for the person experiencing the seizure).

Katsuki was mortified, there was no other way to put it. To have one of your classmates have a seizure is scary, sure, but your soulmate? Now that's going into a whole different league, mainly because you're connected to that person in a way. And there was nothing he could do to help, and that annoyed him to the point of actual concern.

********

After the jumbled speech, Senshi was confused, she didn't want to say that, whatever came out of her mouth that is. And straight after that, she felt nothing.

She couldn't see, she couldn't feel the world around her, and she had no idea whether she was up or down. What she could feel was the pounding of her heart against her chest. She was afraid. She didn't know what was going on. Had she been attacked? Was it a quirk? No one had a quirk like this in class-

"Tāte!"

Senshi tried to move her head towards the sound, but had no idea if she did it, everything sounded muffled. Like they were talking to her through a glass or underwater.

"Tāte!!!"

She heard it again, this time closer, and finally recognized that it was Yaoyorozu.

"Oh my god, oh my god."

'What?' She wanted to ask. What is going on? Senshi had no idea if she was moving her mouth. She was trying to look around, but she couldn't see anything, she had no idea if her eyes were even open, or what she even was doing at the moment.

"Move the desks!"

Aizawa-sensei, good, she'd be fine. Would she though? This wasn't exactly normal was it now?

 "Iida, get recovery girl!"

What? Senshi knew there was something wrong, but now she had the thought of, 'what do I look like right now?'. And truly, Senshi felt embarrassed because of the gibberish. Though after that, she felt nothing at all.

********

"-Isn't listed in any of her medical records, so when she wakes up, ask her about it."

"Right" another voice said "She looked confused so we can guess that this is something that hasn't happened before, but we can't be sure."

The first voice hummed in acknowledgement, the two voices beginning to talk again. Senshi pried her eyes open, feeling something under her neck and seeing that her head was roughly a foot (60cm) away from a desk leg, and she was on her side, facing left towards the window that showed the beauty of UA grounds.

Senshi lets out a groan at the ache of just.... everything, and in the process, effectively silencing any chatter that the two adults had, Senshi now trying to roll on her back.

Though a pair of firm hands keep her on her side "Tāte, can you hear me?"

Senshi hums in response, and even though she still had no idea what was going on, Senshi could feel saliva gathering in her mouth and couldn't find the right words to say 'I'm going to throw up right now.'

"Yaoyorozu, grab that trash can." Recovery Girl ordered, the black haired girl doing as told. Senshi was grateful that Recovery Girl knew stuff, such as that Senshi was about to throw up. Or Recovery Girl could just be psychic, and to be honest, Senshi was glad she wasn't.

Someone, Senshi's still not quite with it so she doesn't know who, drags her up into a sitting position far enough for her head to loll forwards into the trash can that Yaoyorozu kindly produced. Senshi promptly threw up, not giving a care in the world that people are watching her (for once).

Senshi hears Recovery Girl's voice to her left, so that must mean Aizawa-sensei was the person holding her up. Wasn't this just the best way to spend the first day in the dorms? No. It was awful, and the more Senshi thought about it, the more she was tempted to throw up again.

She did.

Though she was sure the second one was more out of anxiety than actually feeling ill. Her vision which was once swimming along with her stomach had settled into something less illusive, allowing her to fully scope out where she was. Desks and chairs, so she was in the classroom, good to know.

"Do you know where you are?" Recovery Girl asked Senshi. The rest of the students in class were standing at the opposite section of the classroom, watching with focus.

"Class." Senshi breathes out, Aizawa-sensei was still holding her up, and she was grateful for that, she felt very tired and weak. It was a similar feeling to that of how she felt in Kamino, how could she be that tired.

"Okay, what day is it?"

"Umm-" Senshi thought for a moment, Recovery Girl looking at her with a patient gaze "- is it Monday?" Senshi words came agonisingly slow, her mind slightly jumbled.

"Yes, at nine fifteen in the morning to be precise. I'm going to ask some of your classmates to help bring you to my office, is that okay dearie?" Recovery Girl queried, Senshi nodding as she stayed seated on the tile floor; which by now, was numbingly uncomfortable.

"Bakugo, Yaoyorozu, take Tāte to Recovery Girl's office." The two walked over, Yaoyorozu closer than Katsuki. Both took one of Senshi's arms over their shoulder and began to walk. Senshi tried to walk, she swore she was, but her legs didn't seem to have the strength.

The three walked through the halls in silence, the only sound being foot steps. "Are you okay Tāte?" Yaoyorozu asked the girl she was helping. Senshi's appearance had become rather dishevelled, the once messy bun at the bottom of her hair having fallen out at some point, Senshi's school shirt was un-tucked from her skirt, and overall, she was not looking great.

" 'M fine."

"Are you fucking kidding me? You just had a god damn seizure on the floor, you aren't exactly gonna be 'okay'." Katsuki butted in, it actually seemed like he cared.

"Seizure?" Senshi asked softly, if it was a seizure, everything would make sense.

"Yes, according to Recovery Girl seeing as you don't have anything in your medical records that could cause a seizure, it was most likely a pseudoseizure." Yaoyorozu explained, Senshi didn't know what she was on about but nodded along.

The rest of the walk was silent, Recovery Girl walking far in front of them, only gaining distance as Senshi struggled to walk. When the three got to Recovery Girl's office, Senshi's two companions had to leave, as Recovery girl needed to do some tests.

"So, you're going to have to be completely honest with me here, did the villains give you anything? Like drugs of some kind?" Recovery girl began, pulling out a clip-board with a sheet of lined paper on it.

Senshi, laid back on one of the cots was trying her hardest not to fall asleep, it was a very tempting thought for the roughed up girl. "No."

"Okay, have you had any panic attacks in the last week?"

Well yes, but if Senshi tells her that then she's going to ask about something Senshi didn't want to talk about. Besides, Senshi didn't even know if the meltdown in her living room was a panic attack, it felt rather normal to her; just a slight emotional episode.

"No."

"Other than Kamino, have you been in any conflict, such as a fight with a family member for instance?"

Huh?

"Yes." NO, why did she say that?! Senshi's face paled slightly, realising that she may have let something slip.

Recovery Girl sent Senshi a look that said 'Carry on', so the girl did as told, albeit while feeling like her words were extremely jumbled in her brain and non-functioning.

"When I got home... my parents began to argue about the kidnapping."

"Does this happen often?"

Senshi knew that this was normal, so what's the harm in talking about it? The secret's already out. "Yes, but then I told them to be quiet, and we argued."

Senshi knew it was normal, but something about telling someone else about it didn't sit right with Senshi, fiddling with her fingers meekly.

"Hmm okay, I think I've got you figure out sweetie-" Recovery Girl began, Senshi listening attentively "-, you were stressed, weren't you?"

Well yes, very, very stressed it an understatement, the girl was flooded with stress to her core. Senshi hesitantly nodded.

"Now, I think you had a pseudoseizure. Now they're usually caused by mental stress, hence why I can assume you did have one. Usually lost of tests have to be done to properly diagnose if it was a pseudoseizure, but just in case it wasn't, I would like to keep you here for the rest of the day." Recovery Girl said, Senshi nodding as the girl nodded off.

So, her parents arguments were so bad that Senshi had a seizure. A seizure. Well, something needed to be done about that. Though for the rest of the day, Senshi was zonked out on a cot in Recovery Girl's office.

Words were going to have to be had with two certain individuals.
