Ch.36 - Expressive

Strolling up to her bed, her limbs feeling heavy and non-compliant, yet her body still arrived at her dorm room. Tsuki has been at her feet as she walked through the dorm building, and the moment the door opened to her private room, the cat actually decided to use his bed for once.

Senshi sighed in defeat sitting down at her desk in the dark. She switched her lamp on and weakly pulled out her thick textbook from her book-filled backpack. Her school uniform felt more uncomfortable than usual, it was as if her body knew that she should be in her pyjamas.

The room hung dim with the girl who held her head in her hands as she forced her eyes to scan over the book. She had completed most of the required work for the day she missed in class, but studying for tests wasn't something the teachers could directly aid with.

After letting out a defeated sigh, Senshi stood up from her chair, the legs of the chair scraping against the wooden floor. She walked over to her closet and changed into sweatpants and a sweater, it was the least she could do to keep herself at least somewhat awake.

It didn't help. Senshi sat back at her desk, her hand on her chin as she lazily read over the work she was supposed to be paying attention to. Her breathing slowed as her head dipped past the support of her hand, only her the girl to whip her neck back up in the attempt to stay awake.

Though her attempt was futile, as the girl drowsily laid her head on her arm as her eyelids shielded the faint light of the desk lamp.

Katsuki knocked lightly on the door of his soulmate. He was rather annoyed due to the fact that she hadn't showed up to his dorm room yet. And yes, they had agreed (silently) that they could go to each others' room, so in reality there wasn't really a reason for him to be mad.

After a minute of waiting outside her door with no reply, he decided to invite himself in; he felt that he deserved that privilege. He poked his head into her room, noticing that there was a meek amount of light coming from her desk.

Glancing around the room further, he noticed that she wasn't in her bed, though her cat seemed to jump onto the piece of furniture as he looked at the feline. He stepped into the dim room that was slightly cold, closing the door softly behind him.

He simply rolled his carmine eyes once seeing the dumbass he calls his soulmate asleep at her desk. Though now he needed to find a way to move her to her bed. What! It would be bad for her neck and back if she slept like that! No other reason...

He pulled her chair out from her desk lightly as to not create much noise, continuing to turn off the desk lamp. It was a good thing he could see rather well in the dark, or else he may have experienced some unnecessary difficulties.

With utmost car-reluctance, Katsuki picked the girl up from underneath her arms and pulled her onto his front, allowing it so that her head was on his shoulder. He could feel his face getting hot, and simply internally cursed himself.

He carried her across the small distance of her room and placed her onto her bed, him laying next to her a few moments later; and remembering to take out her hearing aids, because apparently they were uncomfortable to sleep in. It was a miracle that she didn't wake up (little did he know that she could sleep through a lot), and he was slightly grateful too. What kind of idiot falls asleep studying? Well, apparently, his idiot.

"Bakugo! You needs to stop adding in your own things!" Jiro begged, sounding rather tired. The band group had been practicing fervently, some more than others.

Yaoyorozu and Senshi had been slightly distant compared to the rest of the group, the two trying to find an effective way to play together without the music sounding too layered. It turned out that the two played very similar music styles, more classical than anything. As Senshi's piano teacher was her Nana, she had free reign to play what she wanted most of the time. Though Senshi had chosen classical more than anything, claiming that it simply sounded best.

On the other hand, Yaoyorozu was forced to play classical, though she still enjoyed it; at least that's what the black eyed girl said. As Jiro had been able to compose a basic sheet of music relatively quickly, the two had been able to practice rather quickly.

It was safe to say that Senshi wasn't really the one suggesting the changes, she didn't want to offend Yaoyorozu into thinking she was bad! Though in the end, it sounded great for something that was composted in a week.

Senshi had also found that practicing piano with others was actually rather fun. Senshi would unconsciously chuckle every time Katsuki would yell at people because 'those idiots weren't keeping up'.

"Do we all think that we could do a run through with everyone?" Jiro requested, most people nodding along, Kaminari giving an extremely enthusiastic reply.

"Great! Now start when -HEY KAMINARI DON'T USE YOUR QUIRK ON MY GUITAR!" Jiro snapped, Kaminari jumping in his seat, his grip on the electric guitar strengthening as he was being shouted at.

Senshi could hear laughs echoing from the living room area of the common room, Senshi chuckling to herself. The next half of the month may not be too bad if-

"Dunce face! You need to follow my tempo!" Katsuki snapped, almost snapping his drumsticks along with his exclamation

"I'm sorry! It's hard when you keep throwing in new breakdowns it's so confusing!" Kaminari whined.

Oh well.

Where's Midoriya? That's the thing, no one knows. It was the equivalent of trying to find a four leaf clover amongst a field of grass: very green. And as the boy had approximately one minute to be on stage, Senshi was anxious for him.

The band people were further back on the stage, wearing either their school skirts or pants, and an orange T-shirt that had 'A Band' printed on it. Those who were dancing had an extremely yellow outfit on, one that was very flamboyant.

Speaking of the boy who was drastically late, he did show up. The moment the curtains lifted. Senshi doesn't know how someone could possibly leave their needs up until the literal last second, it didn't make sense.

Though that was in the past, and what was in the present was an acutely loud crowd that was filling the TDL not only physically, but with noise too. Senshi averted her eyes from the crowd, and on to the keyboard that stood at her hip height. And as Katsuki shouted something along the lines of "Start damn it!", everyone started.

"What am I to be?

What is my calling?
Gave up giving up I'm ready to go!

Future's left unseen,
it all depends on me,
Put it on the line to follow my dreams yeah!

Tried all my life,
I tried to find,
Something that makes me hold on and never let go!

Oooh!

Hero too I am a hero too My heart is set And I won't back down

Hero too
Strength doesn't make a hero
True heroes
Stand up for what they believe
So wait and see

So wait and see

What do they think of me?
What do they think I'll be?
I could not care less
I don't want to know

Am I doing right? Am I satisfied? I want to live my life like it's meant to be, yeah!

Tried all my life
I tried to find
Something that makes me hold on and never let go

Ooh!

Hero too

I am a hero too My heart is set And I won't back down

Hero too
Strength doesn't make a hero
True heroes
Stand up for what they believe
So wait and see
People will judge for no reason at all

Yeah they might try to say your dream's dumb don't listen

They may look down on me
And count me out
I'm going my own way

They may look down on me and count me out I'm a hero I've got music

Hero too
I am a hero too
My heart is set
And I won't back down

Hero too strength doesn't make a hero true heroes stand up for what they believe yeah I'll be!

Hero too
I am a hero too
My heart is set
And I won't back down

Hero too

Strength doesn't make a hero true heroes Stand up for what they believe so wait and see

I have met so many heroes in my life
Give me strength and courage to survive
Gave me the power to smile every day
Now it's my turn
To be the one
To make you smile"

As Katsuki blew up the ice, and was seemingly enjoying it, there were two students in particular from the general studies course that were embarrassing themselves, saying stuff such as 'It wasn't bad' whilst running off.

Also, there was a small child stood next to Midoriya. No questions.

After watching the beauty pageant, which Senshi thought was rather amazing, class 1A separated whilst going around different events. Katsuki had been keen about going on the obstacle course against Kirishima.

It was a short obstacle course that had some sort of parkour essence to it, and at the end there was a buzzer. Some of the class, including Senshi, watched the two race about the obstacle course, some cheering, others not. Even if Katsuki was wearing a button-up shirt underneath his band shirt, he still won, much to Kirishima's dismay.

Senshi hadn't been keen on going into the haunted house made by class 1C, but guess where she was? The haunted house.

Senshi hated jump scares, they reminded her of sudden shouts of smashes at her house. Therefore, she, and a few other girls were screaming at most anything whilst Katsuki and Todoroki acted like absolutely nothing was happening.

Senshi honestly had no idea how they did it, especially when Shinso was covered in fake blood and hanging up-side-down in the roof. Nope, no thanks. Though once it was over, Senshi took a deep breath and muttered. "Never doing that again" as she went to go and get crepes.

The afternoon was beautiful, the Sun's rays blaring over the campus of UA in a way that made one reminisce about summer. There was a light and happy attitude, full of laughs and happy screams.

For once it was a time that students at UA could finally feel secure, safe, and in a state of serendipity. Hopefully that wouldn't change, yet with one boy making most everything a competition, and then doing some form of victory screech afterwards may just make any nearby birds fly away.

After a minimum of seven hours spent roaming around UA doing several things such as competitions, viewing presentations, and just eating sugaring and salty things. The day was as good as over.

The class walked back to the dorms, shattered no doubt as the Sun cast its final rays of the land.

"That was so fun!"

"Yeah, our performance went amazingly!"

"Some gen ed kids were being totally rude, but we got our own back on them."

"Sure did! Hey Deku-"

Yeah, Senshi didn't hear the rest as she walked into the girls' shower room for a much needed shower. Senshi had never really taken note up until now, but there was in fact a bathing area, but not only that, any products kept in the room were surprisingly organised.

Lets just say that some of the girls didn't seem like the type to keep organised.

A black haired and eyed girl sat in her bedroom at a keyboard, playing nothing in particular. Her balcony door was open a fraction, allowing an evening breeze to flow through the room. She was in a state of heavy thought, her actions influenced by this; meaning that they were slow and uncared for. The reason being, if the mind is stronger than the moment you are in, your actions will weaken.

A solid knock at her door paused her thoughts, and allowed her to look over at her door. She got up from her keyboard, unlocked and opened her door to reveal the person on the other side.

"Hello?" Senshi asked questioningly. If Katsuki was due to come, it wouldn't be until later; at least not for another hour.

"Yes, now let me in." Katsuki replied, Senshi stepping to the side, allowing the taller boy in. He had obviously come here to do something, he wasn't looking her in the eyes, plus, Senshi felt his nervousness.

He sat down on her bed with his hands in his lap, Senshi walking over to her keyboard and turning it off. The girl then sat down next to her fellow band mate, the mattress sinking under her. Senshi twirled her hands in her hair, not really sure what to say; she wasn't really one for words.

"So umm... is there a reason you came early?" She didn't want to sound as though she didn't want him here (because she did), but there really wasn't another way she could phrase it.

Katsuki huffed in a conflicted way, one that Senshi took as 'Yes there is a reason, but I don't know/want to say it'. Senshi hummed, biting the inside of her cheek as she looked around her room mindlessly.

Tsuki was in the centre of the room, playing with a stuffed rabbit toy. It was rather amusing to watch the cat go to tap it, and then jump away as if the thing could move. That was what Senshi's attention was on now at least. The boy next to her was much more focused on his thoughts rather than what was around him.

"Oi, Skater." Katsuki began, looking at his soulmate. The girl in question hummed in reply as she looked at him. Katsuki shuffled closer to Senshi, the girl watching him closely. She sudden felt a sudden flurry of nervousness erupt within her stomach, but why would she be nervous? There's nothing to be nervous about.

Though that's what Senshi thought, until the boy in question began to lean in closer. And then she realised why she was so nervous, and all of a sudden, she was nervous too. Though all nervousness was foiled when the two's lips connected, and Katsuki began to kiss her. It was a mix of relief, hesitance, and happiness mixed together to create a thing called love. And soon enough, she kissed him too.

Katsuki pulled away, both of their cheeks and ears being beet red, the two sitting in an awkward yet somehow comfortable silence. "So-"

"Shut up and kiss me again you nerd."

And so she did.
