Chapter 37

(Y/N POV)
Partially opening my eyes I'm met with a harsh ray of light causing me to quickly cover my eyes with my hands in a poor attempt to block the light from my vision. My mind was still a tad bit foggy while regaining consciousness but the moment I was able to recall the previous events that happened before Lexa and Clarke knocked me out I instantly got onto my feet and tried making my way to the entrance of the drop ship. Unfortunately due to the drugs Clarke used to make me unconscious I began to get very dizzy and ended up falling through the tarp that acted as a door on the drop ship. I wasn't able to pick myself up off the ground until I rolled all the way down ramp/real door of the drop ship. I expected to land on hard dirt when I hit the end of the ramp but instead I found myself landing upon a more squishier surface. It wasn't until I got back on my feet that I realized what I landed on was a human body. Thankfully they were dressed in Azgeda attire meaning whoever I was just pretty much sitting on wasn't one of my or sky people.

Just as I was about to yell out for someone I instantly realized it wasn't a good idea and instead decided on taking a look around first. Stepping over quite a few bodies I was thankful to see no faces that a recognized. After a few minutes of searching for a person who was still alive and well I came up with nothing. Weighing my options I come to the conclusion to yell for River even if it might end up in a group of people from Azgeda attacking me but I needed to find him or anyone that was still alive.

"River are you out there?!" I shout making my presence known to anyone that was in the 50 feet vicinity of me. In return I get nothing but the sound of birds singing their morning tune. Beginning to feel uneasy I was about to call out again until I heard the snapping of twigs from behind me. Swiftly spinning around I'm met with nothing but the a cool breeze that was caused from my quick movement. Before I could think of what caused the twigs behind me to snap I feel something brush itself up against my legs. Peering down I come to find Rosie unharmed and happy to see me. Letting out a breathe of relief I pick her up and continue my search for anyone who could still be alive.

Before I knew it 2 hours had passed and I had looked everywhere in camp but came up with nothing but dead bodies, Luckily none of which belonging to anyone I knew. Just as I was going to widen my search outside the gates I hear a distant chatter of voices. They were so mumbled I couldn't decipher if I recognized them or not but either way I needed to be prepared so I quickly drop Rosie off in the drop ship and grab onto my nearest dragger and make my way to the gate. The voices were coming closer and I knew no matter whom they might belong to I needed to make sure I was ready if worst came to worst. Using the wide open gate to my advantage I hop behind them, giving me the element of surprise if needed. Hearing the footsteps of many I was able to make out they were about 5 feet from me without looking because even if I took a quick peek my cover could be blown and it might just cost me my life. 2 minutes had passed and people were still entering the camp meaning if they did turn out to be Azgeda there was to many of them for me to face alone and get out with my life.

"Where the hell is she? She's not here!" I hear a familiar voice yell, it wasn't until then I realized that the people entering the camp weren't Azgeda, but most likely a mix of my people and the sky people. Coming out of my hiding spot it took a few seconds for all eyes to fall onto me but when they did I was instantly swept up into a hug, it all happened so fast I didn't even get the chance to see who was hugging me. Once I felt the familiar comfort of his arms I automatically knew who it was, Bellamy. Instead of pushing him away I hugged back, not caring who might be watching. After a few minutes pass I end up being the first one to pull away and when I did I made eye contact with River. I was over joyed to know both of them were alright but my joy was short lived once I realized River had witnessed my exchange with Bellamy. I couldn't help but feel guilty considering I was still in love with River even though he thought Bellamy was the only one I had eyes for. I still needed to confess to Bellamy about my feeling for him but I needed to talk to River first.

Stepping away from Bellamy and towards River I ask to speak to him somewhere more quiet in which he agrees and leads me a little bit outside of camp.

"I already know what you're going to say. You love Bellamy and want to be with him, and if that's what make you happy then I'm not going to hold you back." River says with a sad smile before I even get the chance to speak.

"Well then I guess you don't know what I'm going to say because that isn't it. What I wanted to speak with you about is that just because I love Bellamy doesn't mean I don't love you because I do. I love both of you, and it isn't fair to anyone if I don't give you both the information I'm going to give the other." I state which causes a happy yet confused look to cross Rivers face.

"Who's it going to be?" He hesitantly question and I could tell my his expression he was scared for the answer. The truth was I didn't even know the answer and I guess he figured that out because he continued on by saying, "Let me know when you've gotten it figured out. All I want is for you to be happy, whatever decision you come to just know I'll always be here for you no matter what." After saying that he disappears pack into camp.

At that moment I knew who I wanted to be with.
