Chapter 9

"MiStAKe MaYbE?" Error proposed an umpteenth possible name.

"No! Are you insulting yourself on purpose?!" Psyche asked, aggravated by his propositions, that were all insulting toward himself. 'Damn it, this child needs to love himself more!'

"In CaSe YoU fOrGoT, I cAn HeAR yOu. AnD I'M nOt A cHiLD, I'M eOnS oLd." Error replied simply, not seeing the problem with his ideas. "I don't care, you still need to love yourself! You only proposed insults!"

"WeLl ThAt'S HoW pEoPlE cALlEd Me BaCk HomE, I Don'T SeE tHe ProBLem." He truly didn't. He sighed, thinking once again. "AnD wHaT dO yOu tHiNK aBoUT DrAKo? Y'knOW, SiNCe I'm A dRaGoN aNd AlL."

Psyche stayed silent for a few seconds, before a clapping sound resonated in his SOUL. "Yes! Drako is a good name!" Error –now Drako– smiled happily after hearing this. They had been discussing what his new name should be for the past hours, and Psyche seemed to particularly dislike his ideas until now. Not that he saw the problem with them, everyone called him like this in his Multiverse, so it was probably good names, no?

Well not for Psyche apparently. They were quite happy that the Deities created them to help Drako, otherwise this idiot would have called himself something insulting, like 'Mistake'. Thank Toby Fox he ended up finding something not insulting toward himself.

Drako smiled softly, happy to finally have a new name for this Multiverse. It wasn't the most original of names, but he liked it in the end so he didn't care. Drako looked up toward the sky and sighed softly. "It'S ALrEadY NiGhT?"

"Yep! The training took a lot of the day. What do you plan to do for the night?" Drako thought for a few minutes before shrugging. "I dON'T kNow, WaLk? oR MaYbE FlY aRoUnd? I sTiLL nEeD To GeT UsEd To My DrAgOn FoRm aND MoSt MoNSTeRs ArE pRoBaBLY ALrEadY AsLeEp sO FiNdInG a ViLlAgE WoUlD Be UsELEsS." Psyche hummed softly in response.

"You could go back to the clearing where you met those earth wolves? It had enough space for you to land easily, since you still need to get used to this body." Drako nodded before looking around. "ThAT WoUld Be NiCe, BuT WhErE wAs It AgAiN? I dIdN'T rEaLlY pAiD aTTeNtIoN To WhErE I WaS gOiNg..."

Psyche sighed. "Of course you didn't... Well you can always try to find it by walking or flying, no? Maybe you'll find an even better spot, who knows?" He shrugged. He was okay with walking around or trying to fly if necessary.

And thus, Drako started to walk into the jungle, but having this time a destination in mind. Not like he couldn't get away if he ever got lost; he had his portals and teleportations. But he'd rather walk, since he could now enjoy the scenery without fearing that a certain artist slam suddenly an oversized paintbrush into his skull. Plus, he had a feeling things wouldn't be as tranquil as he would like forever, so he was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

He talked about random things with Psyche, appreciating the little Voice's personality, that seemed to differ from his more as time went. It was nice, he didn't have the feeling of talking to a simple part of him, but really to someone else that only he could hear... Almost like Cross and his Chara, since most couldn't hear or see the ghost child. That comparison made his SOUL ache a little at the thought of his family, but he couldn't do anything except hope that Destiny and Karma would be able to lead them to him. He didn't like not being in control of the situation, but he could only hope right now. But it also brought up a new thought to him. "HeY pSyChE?"

Said Voice only hummed in response, listening to what Drako was going to say. "CoUlDN't We MaKe YoU a BoDY oR SoMeTHInG wItH mAgIc? Y'KnOw, LiKe XcHaRA HaS a BoDY dEspItE BeIng A gHOst." He felt Psyche shrug in his SOUL. "I honestly don't know what could be done with me. I know that if our bound was to be cut off, I would cease to exist, and that my purpose is to guide and accompany you through this new chance to life, but other than that, I don't know much. I know that I don't really have a SOUL since I'm a part of yours, but that's enough for me to actually feel unlike InkyBitchy. Maybe that's possible, but I don't know how to do that. It is probably possible actually but I don't think anyone would be able to see me even if I had a ghost appearance, unlike you who can see ghosts most of the time. Perhaps while you'll train your dragon magic, I'll try to form a ghost of myself... It mustn't be THAT hard, right?"

Drako shrugged, wincing slightly at the mention of Psyche ceasing to exist if their bound was to be cut off. He didn't think they were THAT dependent of him. He did giggle at the nickname Psyche gave Ink. He used to just call him Inky, but 'InkyBitchy' didn't sound bad. Drako really wanted to see what Psyche would look like if they had a body. Would they be exactly like him? Completely different? He really hoped it would be possible for them to form a ghost appearance. "Do yOu HavE aN IdEa oF WhAt YoU WoULd LooK LikE?"

Psyche stayed silent for a few seconds, as if thinking about their answer, then he had the feeling they started to smirk slightly. "Why, I'd be sexy as fuck of course!"

Now, Drako was expecting a lot of possible answers, but this one completely caught him off guard, making him choke while breathing, before bursting with laugher. He could feel this idiot being smug in his SOUL! "T-ThAt'S NoT Wh-WhAT I mEaNT!" They both continued to laugh happily. Psyche was happy they could make Drako laugh. They wanted to make him heal from his past, and even if it wasn't much, hearing the past Destroyer laugh made them feel like they were doing great for now.

Drako continued to walk, wiping a little tear that formed because of his sudden laugh burst, a small smile decorating his face. "Y'know, you should start to answer me by thinking instead of talking, or the people you'll meet will think you aren't totally sane..." It was Drako's turn to smirk. "BuT wHo SaiD I WaS ToTaLLy SaNE?"

He could feel Psyche being desperate by this answer, only making him smirk more. It was his turn to be smug. Psyche just sighed, and once again, he felt as if someone had gently slapped the back of his head. He will need to get used to that. "HeY pSyChE, It'S YoU WhO SlApPeD ThE bAcK Of My SkUlL, RiGhT? HoW CoME YoU CaN dO tHaT WiThOut A bOdY?" Drako felt them shrug. "Dunno, don't care honestly, I can do it and I'll do it if you're being a dumbass, that's all that matter."

That answer made him smile –knowing he was going to be slapped often since he was quite proud of being a dumbass and didn't plan to stop anytime soon– but sigh at the same time. It didn't explain anything at all!

Well, he couldn't blame Psyche, they couldn't answer if they didn't know the answer. But still, it was weird that they could touch him like this! "CaN YoU tOuCh OtHeR ThInGS?"

"Maybe? Honestly the Deities didn't really explain what I could and couldn't do while making me, only that I needed to protect and guide you as best as I could –which I planned to do anyway as soon as I was conscious– so I'm a mystery even for myself. But if I can I'm gonna go full poltergeist on everyone around us." That managed to make Drako laugh once again. He could imagine how people would react to flying object. That really made him want Psyche to be able to touch other things and persons.

"ThaT WoULd Be FuN... SaY, If DeStInY And KaRMA cReATEd You, DoES ThAT mAKe YoU tHeIR ChILD? LiKE InK His FatE'S 'DeAr' FiRsT cHiLD?" His voice was cold and his tone full of venom at the mention of Fate and their stupid child. They were the only ones he really considered responsible of his past suffering. He didn't even blame the Blind Judge –well he did have a good part of annoyance toward them to be so blind and easily manipulated by their Creator– for it! They didn't know! But Ink... Ink was warned. Drako didn't know if he really not heard Fate's warning, if he forgot them or something else, but as the Creator, even if he didn't heard them, he should have known their Multiverse had a limit! But no, all he did was laugh at Drako's face when he tried to warn him.

That's why he couldn't forgive Ink. Ink didn't truly care about the Multiverse according to him. Fate wasn't any better; they could have warned Ink at least once again! But no, of course not, it was so much easier to take a Sans from his AU, from his friends and family, and force him into the Destroyer's role! Drako couldn't even remember them for Toby Fox's sake!

He was cut out of his thought at the feeling of something gently patting his head, making him look up to see nothing. He felt his glitches –that had started to be more numerous– calm down slightly when he realized it was only Psyche. He could feel their concern and smiled to reassure them. "I'M sOrRy fOr WoRrYInG YoU PsYcHe." He felt them nod in response, not answering. He could tell that if they had a body, they would be watching him with sadness and worry.

"To answer your question... Maybe? I don't know, but since I am connected to you, and that you're their Chosen Child, I guess it indirectly makes me part of the family?" Drako smiled a little after hearing that, after realization dawned upon him. "WaIT! 'ChOsEN ChILD'? ThEy CoNsIdEr Me As ThEiR ChIld?"

"Why, yes, of course. They almost always did. Maybe even before you became 'Error'." Drako paused for a few seconds, before asking a question, his voice trembling slightly. "D-DoES... DOeS This mEan ThEy ArE LiKE mY PaREnTS...? ThAt... THaT I hAvE aN AcTuAL fAmiLY...?"

"Of course you do! Karma and Destiny love you like their own child, Nightmare and his gang consider you like an older brother, the Charas and their equivalent see you as a parental figure... You have a family, and even if they're not with you right now, they'll always love you. And I also see you as an older brother, if you're okay with that of course, so yep, you have an actual family."

That was exactly what Drako needed to hear. After all this years of suffering, knowing that at least some people considered him as a part of their family always made him happy. He always had trouble understanding why the First Fallen Humans and Nightmare's gang considered him like a family member, even now, he doesn't really understand. But it makes him so happy...

He wiped the few tears that appeared in his eyes and smiled, a pure and genuinely happy smile. Not the fake one he sometimes made to reassure his loved ones, but a truly happy one. Having a real family always felt so weird, but it was all he always wanted. He was truly happy with Nightmare's gang and the Charas equivalent –which is why he seriously hoped they would be led to him here–, but hearing that people cared for him and considered as a part of their family always made his SOUL feel strangely warm. And learning that Psyche reciprocated his sibling-like affection couldn't make him happier. "ThANk YoU pSyChE..."

And just like that, they both stayed silent, appreciating each other's company, a feeling of pure happiness in their shared SOUL.

After a few more minutes, Drako finally arrived into the clearing he had found the day prior and smiled slightly. He went to stand in the middle of the clearing and transformed into his dragon form. He had a feeling there was only a few hours left before the sun started to rise, but he didn't care. He wanted to fly so he will fly! He was now free, it wasn't the sun that would stop him from doing what he wanted, even if it wasn't what he originally planned.

He didn't wait a second before elevating himself in the sky, flying over the jungle he previously was in. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, enjoying the feeling of the cold night's air hitting his body softly. He didn't keep them closed for too long though, enjoying even more the beautiful view he could see from up here. He twirled in the sky, playing and enjoying the feeling of liberty washing over him. He never felt so free before!

He didn't expect to like flying as much as he did, but damn, it was the best feeling ever! He did some figures in the sky, earning a laugh from Psyche, who was enjoying this experience just as much as him, if not more. It was better than falling from high places –which he also quite enjoyed as long as he wasn't pushed–, and way better than being sent flying by one of Ink's or the Judges' attack –because yes, that did happen, and even if he didn't enjoy the pain coming with it, the view was pretty cool. The landing was less cool though–!

He didn't see the hours pass while he was having fun –but even if he wasn't having fun, with his fucked up sense of time, he probably wouldn't see them pass either, so it maybe wasn't THAT relevant–. He did notice when the sun started to rise, since the sky lost its dark color for a soft pinkish-orange one, but other than that, he didn't see the time pass.

It was now the morning, and some birds and other dragons came to fly with him. Psyche was right, he could hear them all discuss happily with each others, and it only made his SOUL beat faster in happiness. Why couldn't everyone live peacefully like those creatures? His Multiverse really needed to take example on them. A bird with fire-like feathers and sand-looking design went closer to him. "Hey, you're new, right? What's your name?"

Drako could only smile softly, happy that they included him without even knowing him. He noticed that the others stopped their discussions to listen to his response. Were they all that curious about him? He couldn't help but being amused by that. "YeS, I Am InDeEd qUItE nEw. My NaMe Is DrAkO, WhAt iS YoUrS?" The bird squawked in happiness, flying around him with curiosity.

"My name is Sand, nice to meet you Drako! The ice falcon right here is named Dias, and the two dragons are the twins Fi and Ron!" Drako hummed in response, looking at each of them while Sand was presenting everyone. They all nodded toward him when their name was mentioned. "It'S nIcE tO MeET YoU aLL."

And this is how Drako found himself flying with two birds and two dragons, discussing happily with them. Soon enough, the birds had to leave, leaving only the dragons. One of the twin, Ron if he remembered correctly, proposed to do a race at some point, making the three dragons fly at full speed through the clouds. Surprisingly, Drako was first, by a lot. Fi was second, making Ron curse since he was the last and wanted to at least be second –after all, he proposed the game and quickly realized that Drako was way too fast to be beat–. After a few more minutes, they had to leave too.

"Damn you were fast!" Drako only hummed in response, himself surprised that he managed to beat the two twins in this race. "Maybe it's because your dragon side comes from two Deities..." He shrugged –well as best as he could considering he was a dragon and actually flying–, thinking it was indeed a possibility.

After a few more minutes, he decided that he had probably flied enough and was about to go search for a place to land, when he heard two people scream. He quickly turned his head toward the provenance of the sound –Psyche swore he heard his neck crack a little at how fast the sudden movement was– and charged toward it, not waiting a second.

In just a few seconds, he found himself flying above a cliff, watching a little Papyrus and a white dragon with blue parts falling toward the ground at full speed. He saw how desperate the dragon to save the Papyrus, trying to fly but failing miserably –could he judge, considering he didn't know how to fly two days prior? No, not really–. He didn't wait more, charging toward them and quickly catching them on his back before slowing. The Papyrus cries didn't stop, but the dragon seemed to notice they were safe and soon stopped to struggle against the air.

Drako saw a Gaster looking at him with horror and worry. He guessed it was because of his child and the dragon's fall –where was the Sans by the way?– and because he feared that Drako flied away with them. He landed slowly on the floor below, waiting for the children –he could feel that the dragon was also a child, even if his height was a direct clue– to get down. He frowned when they stayed in place, seemingly too afraid to move, and sighed, taking back his skeleton form. He expected Psyche to scream at him, since he knew he should keep the fact that he was a dragon secret, but they did none of that.

The dragon looked at him with wide eyes, seeming shocked by Drako's sudden change of appearance, but he didn't payed this any mind, cradling the two children gently in his arms. "ShHh... CaLm DoWN lItTlE OnEs, YoU'Re SaFe Now..." As if his words had a magic effect, the Papyrus opened his eyes and looked straight at him, tears still running down his cheeks. He then looked around, realizing they were indeed safe, before wiping his tears and hugging Drako. "Thank you mister dragon! You saved us!" The dragon snuggled up closer to the young skeleton, relaxing now that there was no danger.

Drako took the time to analyze the little ones. In his arms was a little white dragon with some blue spots on his body, as well as a blue tuft of fur, fading to a soft purple, at the end of his tail. His horns were very small; clearly not fully developed. Little blue and purple specks were on his cheeks, not unlike freckles, which made him quite adorable. His left eye was blue and the right one purple.

Papyrus was wearing a simple white shirt, above which an orange shawl was draped around his neck, covering his shoulders. The little one wore simple white shorts with high knee-length socks that were a soft orange fading to a light yellow. To finish it all, he wore brown boots that clearly had been used a lot but were still in an extremely good condition. Either he was taking care of his things by himself or his father was making sure that he did. His eyelights glowed a soft orange color fading to yellow.

Soon enough, the Gaster teleported in front of him, looking shocked. "You... You're... You're a dragon too...?" Drako frowned slightly, immediately noticing what the question implied, and examining the skeleton with interest. His eyes then went to the two children in his arms. "Whatever, it's not important. Thank you for saving my children, young man, I don't know what I would have done if anything happened to them..."

The black boned skeleton stared at this Gaster, silently examining him. The man wore a black tunic fading to a dark purple, almost imperceptible. Above of it was a white coat, not unlike a lab coat but seeming comfortable and bigger on him, without making it look too big. Almost seeming like a breeze of wind enveloped the man and materialized in the form of a comfortable coat. His pants was a dark purple, fading to a lighter shade of the same color with white constellations stitched at the end. He wore white boots with purple laces. His right eyelight was purple and the left one was a pure white. A simple pair of rectangular black glasses were taped to his skull. He had the classic Gaster's scars on his face, but instead of going to the top of his skull from his right eyesocket or the bottom of his cheek from his left eyesocket, they ended up in a swirl not unlike the ones under Drako's eyes. Both of his eyes were vide open, unlike most Gasters who had a droopy eyesocket.

Drako hummed in response, rocking the children gently and inadvertently making them fall sleep. He tried to hand them to their father, only to realize the Papyrus was firmly holding his shawl in his sleep. That made their father smile softly, gently petting his sons' head. Drako smiled too after hearing the dragon –he now had his response, it was probably him the Sans of this AU– purr softly. "It seems like Papy doesn't plan on letting go anytime soon... Would you accept to accompany me at our home? I know, it may sound weird for me to invite a teenager in my house like this, but you're the first Monster like me that I had the pleasure to meet in... Quite a long time. I would like to discuss with you, if you don't mind."

He almost forgot he was a teenager, damn it. And he could feel Psyche making fun of him!

"LeAd ThE wAy ThEN. I DoN'T rEaLLy HaVE a ChOiCe AnYWay, I dOn'T PlAN On kIdNaPpINg YoUr SoNS." He could tell his voice surprised the Gaster, but he didn't question it anyway, starting to walk toward what he guessed was the nearest village –he totally forgot his quest of finding a village now that he thought about it–. The journey was silent, Drako guessed that this Gaster probably decided to keep his interrogatory for when they'll be in his home, in case someone was to listen to them.

'WhAT dId I gET InTO ThIS TiME AgAIN?' Was the only think Drako could think about while following the tall –damn it he was slightly taller than him– skeleton.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I finally managed to post another day than Friday-
Took a while-
So yeah, Error's now named Drako.
Just a question; how do you think Psyche would look like of they were visible? I want to know how you are imagining they could be.
And Drako finally met people in this AU! Yay! I condemned him to socialization, the worst thing ever! I'm not sorry-
I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
Lunar's out!~
